George Harrison can rest easy knowing that a path running through his Maui, Hawaii, estate to the Pacific Ocean will be closed to the public. Harrison and his neighbors have agreed to a settlement that allows the singer privacy while prohibiting anyone to use the path nearby his home, according to The Associated Press. The dispute began in the 1990s after the ex-Beatle objected to his neighbors using the path nearby his house. His neighbors were upset because the trail would provide access to Kapukaulua Point and the ocean, and filed a lawsuit. Up until last year, Harrison was letting residents use the path until he discovered some were sneaking nonresidents through in order to see his home.

HOLLYWOOD, Dec. 6, 2000 -- The Queen of the Rumor Mill is at it again.

Madonna fanned the flames of marriage rumors to filmmaker Guy Ritchie when she was spotted in Scotland visiting a Cathedral, Reuters reports.

Local newspapers ran blurry photos of the pop star and Ritchie stepping out of a private jet after they landed, reportedly to visit Doornoch Cathedral near Inverness.

Madonna has been quoted as saying that she will marry Ritchie next year sometime. Newspapers, however, speculated that the couple, who shares a son, would marry Dec. 22.

Newspapers reported that the couple also visited Skibo Castle during their visit to Scotland. The castle, a turreted pile on Scotland's northeast coast, is a favorite backdrop for the weddings of the rich and famous.

HOLLYWOOD, Oct. 26, 2000 -- Two kids, numerous public love affairs and one giant diamond "friendship" ring later, Madonna is about to walk down the aisle again.

That's what the gossip gurus at US Weekly are reporting in this week's magazine, due out Friday. And although the Queen of Music’s publicist is denying the reports, the magazine is reporting that the wedding invitations for Madonna and filmmaker Guy Ritchie have already gone out. The grand day is scheduled for sometime in December at a Scottish castle.

Hmmm. Will Dennis Rodman be invited?

OOPS!…SHE’S DOING IT AGAIN: Teen pop queen Britney Spears is stealing the show again, this time as host of the American Music Awards, Reuters reports. HOLLYWOOD, Sept. 5, 2000 -- Guess Yoko Ono deserves an apology. The surviving members of the Beatles have written a book that puts to rest the rumor that Ono was the culprit who caused the breakup of the groundbreaking British band.

According to "The Beatles Anthology," it was definitely John Lennon who called it quits.

All together now: We’re sorry, Yoko.

Excerpts from the book were published last week in a British newspaper. The excerpts included that tensions between Lennon and McCartney came to a head, causing Lennon to leave to record with his wife, Yoko.

The book took the trio -- Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr -- six years to put together and includes some 1,200 photographs that have never been released. It’s scheduled to be released in Britain and the United States in October.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 11, 2000 - London real-estate agents, beware: There's a new seller - and buyer - in the market. Madonna ("Evita"), who bought a $6.55 million mansion there a few weeks ago, is putting it back on the market in the wake of ex-Beatle George Harrison's stabbing Dec. 30 at his London mansion. According to the London Times, the Material Girl's security advisers told her that the four-story home she bought in the city's trendy Chelsea district was "perfectly visible from the road" and thereby unsuitable for a celebrity. But Big Ben shouldn't feel shafted; the singer/actress reportedly is back in London today searching for a new home with better security.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 3, 2000 -- The house from "The Blair Witch Project" is getting a new lease on life.

Originally scheduled for a meeting with a wrecking ball, Maryland's Department of Natural Resources has decided to spare the 200-year-old Griggs House in western Baltimore County. A lawyer for Haxan Films, which produced "Blair Witch," tells The Baltimore Sun that he thinks distributor Artisan Entertainment put up money with state officials to save the house.

The Griggs House, of course, was the dilapidated shack featured at the climax of the '99 horror hit. At least we think it was. Hard to tell. That friggin' camera was spinning too much.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Dec. 30, 1999 -- Another Beatle victimized by violence.

Ex-Mop Top George Harrison was stabbed at his London-area home today by a knife-wielding intruder, reports say.

Harrison, 56, was stabbed once in the chest before fending off the attacker. His wife, Olivia, suffered minor head injuries in the attack, but did not require hospitalization. The rock-'n'-roll legend, meanwhile, was transported to Royal Berkshire Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

The attack, which reportedly took place sometime around 3:30 a.m. London time, was said to have shocked residents of the quiet, upper-class community of Henley-On-Thames. Harrison's estate was thought to be particularly well guarded. It reportedly featured 24-hour security, patrol dogs and barbed wire fencing. British authorities said they were investigating burglary as a possible motive.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 3, 2000 -- Meet ABC News' new correspondent: Leonardo DiCaprio. The "Titanic" boat boy interviewed White House fellow President Clinton for the network on Friday. The piece is scheduled to air April 22 on Earth Day. ("Beach" controversy aside, Leo's something of an eco-head these days.)

The chat between DiCaprio and Clinton took place at the White House. No word on what the two discussed, or if Leo invited Bill to join his posse.

UNLESS YOU WANT THE REALLY GOOD STUFF ON GROUPIES, IN WHICH CASE YOU MAY WANT TO CONSULT EXISTING TOMES: London's Telegraph says the three surviving Beatles -- Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr -- have reunited to publish their joint autobiography.
