Tim Robbins' ensemble 'Cradle Will Rock' rocks By P. Ignatieff, Hollywood.com

'Cradle Will Rock': Official Website MovieGuide Interviews: Hank Azaria John Cusak Tim Robbins Biographies: Tim Robbins John Cusak Hank Azaria Billed as "a (mostly) true story," "Cradle Will Rock" is an interesting and vibrant look at American theater and art worlds facing adversity in 1930s New York played out as a cautionary tale against artistic censorship.

With an imaginative and informative original screenplay that seamlessly harmonizes true-life events and characters with fictionalized ones and acted with a labor-of-love energy by a cast of over a dozen well-respected actors from both film and stage, Tim Robbins' third directorial and writing effort employs a style that can be described as being both

Four new categories -- Best Line from a Movie, Best Dressed, Best Cameo and Best Music Moment-will be added to the 2001 MTV Movie Awards. Some of the nominees suggestions submitted to MTV's Web site include Elizabeth Hurley (best dressed from Bedazzled), Jack Black (best music moment from High Fidelity) and James Van Der Beek (best cameo from Scary Movie). Fans cast their vote until June 2, when the show will be taped at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Jimmy Fallon and Kirsten Dunst will host the 10th annual awards show, scheduled for June 7.

HOLLYWOOD, Jan. 18, 2001 -- Ray Liotta and Jason Patric have joined the indie forces.

The two actors will co-star in the thriller "Narc," The Hollywood Reporter says. The story follows a narcotics officer (Patric) assigned to investigate the death of a rookie cop.

He gets teamed up with the cop's former partner (Liotta), whom he finds out is up to no good.

Liotta is also executive producing the film, which goes into production in Toronto next week.

KAREN GOES BIG SCREEN: "Will & Grace's" Emmy Award-winning Megan Mullally might join the cast of "Stealing Stanford," Daily Variety reports.

If she signs, this would mark the actress's first leading role in a feature film. The film stars Jason Lee as a guy who turns to petty crime in order to finance his niece's education.

Before "Will & Grace," Mullally performed on Broadway and in other theatri

Mike Myers HOLLYWOOD, June 7, 2000 -- Dieter is not amused. Mike Myers has walked on the long-planned "Sprockets" movie (name of "Dieter," after the title character), short-circuiting a film that was to bring him his first $20 million paycheck.

And Universal Pictures apparently isn't amused, either -- it has filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against the comic actor.

The lawsuit was filed Monday in Los Angeles. It seeks to bar Myers from working on other movies (or TV shows) until it gets the blasted "Dieter" movie out of him. It also wants the $3.8 million it says it's out in pre-production costs.

Right now, Myers is standing firm.

"I cannot in good conscience accept $20 million and cheat moviegoers who pay their hard-earned money to see my work by making a movie with an unacceptable script," Myers said in a statement that neatly ignores how unfunn

HOLLYWOOD, May 25, 2000 -- Is Matt Damon ready to go undercover? (Or to take Brad Pitt's leftovers?) Today's Daily Variety says "The Talented Mr. Ripley" star has been offered the lead in the spy thriller, "The Bourne Identity," based on the Robert Ludlum novel of the same name. Pitt passed on the project on Wednesday.

WHAT A GREAT IDEA! Martin Lawrence, late of "Big Momma's House," is eyeing "Black Knight," a comedy about a lowly food-service worker who time travels back to the Middle Ages. We do not think Variety is making this up.

MONKEY SHINES: "High Fidelity" standout Jack Black is the latest actor to join Mike Myers' epic "Sprockets" comedy, about a man (Myers) and his quest for his missing monkey.

ON THE NOSE? "Cutthroat Island" great Renny Harlin is in talks to helm the Jackie Chan actioner, "Nosebleed," the Hollywood Reporter says. Shooting is planned f
