HOLLYWOOD, Nov. 22, 2000 -- Newlyweds Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are saying buh-bye to Hello! and giving the high sign to OK!

The Hollywood couple won a ban against Hello! magazine to publish unauthorized pictures of their wedding. The Oscar-winning actor and his new wife had sold the exclusive rights to their wedding pictures to OK! magazine, Hello!'s biggest rival, Reuters reports.

London's High Court ordered the magazine to withdraw 740,000 copies of the magazine, but not before 16,000 copies had already gone on sale containing several images of poor quality.

``I have no doubt these images are confidential and on the face of it the defendants are in breach, as alleged, of confidentiality, maybe in contract, and possibly malicious falsehood,'' High Court Justice Hunt said.

Hello!'s lawyer, Henry Carr, argued that the ruling to ban the magaz

HOLLYWOOD, Nov. 19, 2000 -- After months of media build-up and a baby boy, Hollywood supercouple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones tied the knot Saturday at the Plaza Hotel in New York.

Fellow actors Goldie Hawn, Danny DeVito and James Woods and director Oliver Stone were among the 250 friends and family on hand for the nuptials, which reportedly cost $2 million.

Douglas and Zeta-Jones met at a film festival in France in August 1998, began dating in spring 1999 and became engaged last New Year's Eve.

Zeta-Jones gave birth to their son, Dylan Michael, in August. Photographs of their son were sold exclusively to Brit celeb mag OK! for a reported $1 million; the mag also has exclusive rights to the wedding pictures.

HOLLYWOOD, Sept. 1, 2000 -- Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones aren’t married yet, so you can go back to bed. The couple is denying a British Sun report that they’re planning beachside nuptials for Sept. 30 in Santa Barbara, Calif.

"There are plans for a wedding, but it’s not in Santa Barbara, and it’s not on the 30th," Zeta-Jones’ publicist, Cece Yorkee, told USA Today.

The 78-acre Bacara Resort and Spa is the venue where the wedding is rumored to be taking place. A spokeswoman for the resort says the story is untrue.

Douglas’ Further Films representative, Allen Burry, says the resort may have spread the rumors to get free publicity for its debut.

Pulling his best Alanis, Burry tells USA Today, "Isn’t it ironic that the hotel is opening next week?"

Yes, it is ironic.

New York, NY, Jan. 11, 2000 - Y2K looks to be a big year for Michael Douglas. Having just announced his engagement to Catherine Zeta-Jones (via the Internet, no less -- we hope someone e-mailed Catherine the good news), Douglas is poised to tie the knot with the beautiful Welsh star this year.

Also in 2000 - next month in fact -- Douglas will be seen in Paramount's "Wonder Boys," about a majorly blocked writer. While initial reports described Douglas' character as "overweight" and "pot-smoking," Those Who Have Read the script say the role has a lot more dignity than that.

And then there's the "baby." Douglas' production company Further Films has birthed its very first release, "One Night at McCool's," starring none other than Daddy. (Look for the bouncing black comedy in the fall.)

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Feb. 27, 2000 -- Warner Bros.' "The Whole Nine Yards" easily held on to first place despite tracking studies that had projected Dimension Films' opening of "Reindeer Games" would be the weekend's big winner.

"Reindeer Games " Although the tracking data had pointed to an opening of $10 million to $12 million for "Reindeer," no film managed to crack double digits last weekend. "Reindeer" wound up an embarrassed No. 3 for the weekend with a red face and nose. The weekend's only other wide opening, Paramount's "Wonder Boys," lived up to tracking expectations, finishing out of the Top Five, in seventh place, with a grim estimated $5.85 million.

The best-performing film of the bunch continued to be "Yards," Morgan Creek and Franchise Pictures' R-rated comedy. "Yards" continued laughing atop the chart in its second weekend with an estimated $9.61 million

'Save' Tops Holiday Box Office

"Save the Last Dance" kicked off in first place to a record-setting $28 million for the four-day Martin Luther King holiday weekend.

Distribution executives had anticipated that Paramount's PG-13-rated teen appeal dance drama would end 20th Century Fox's three-week chart-topping reign with "Cast Away," but they were only thinking in terms of an opening of about $20 million. Instead, "Dance" came in swinging to the tune of an ESTIMATED $28.00 million at 2,230 theaters ($12,556 per theater). (For the three-day period Friday through Sunday, Paramount estimated "Dance" at $24.00 million.)

Their only hope is to rely on the deceased coach's gay son to "choreograph them to victory." But don't think Zeta-Jones is bowing out of the limelight forever. Oh, no, she wants that Oscar. So, Catherine also will star with her equally famous husband Michael Douglas in Smoke and Mirrors.
