"I've found that a lot of girls have no issue with me being gay. They still want to marry me. And I love that." Actor Neil Patrick Harris still receives proposals from female fans, despite the fact he is engaged to his longtime partner, David Burtka.
Actor Neil Patrick Harris was honoured by his peers at The Drama League's 30th annual all-star gala in New York City on Monday night (03Feb14). The TV and stage performer's career was celebrated at the organisation's Musical Celebration of Broadway event at the Pierre Hotel in Manhattan.
Stars including Zachary Levi, Kal Penn, Audra McDonald and Harris' TV reporter partner David Burtka were in attendance at the bash, hosted by Whoopi Goldberg.
Drama League Executive Director Gabriel Shanks says, "We are overjoyed to add Neil Patrick Harris to the legendary roster of artists who have been honoured at the Musical Celebration of Broadway during the last 30 years. After distinguishing himself in film, television, theatre, web series, music, and as a staunch advocate for youth and arts education like that provided by The Drama League, Neil's return to Broadway this season is cause for celebration."
Harris is returning to the Great White Way in a new production of Hedwig And The Angry Inch which opens in April (14).
Other stars to be honoured over the last 30 years include Dame Angela Lansbury, Liza Minnelli and Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 has finally been officially released after being leaked online ages ago. The new trailer has everyone gagging over the amazing celebrity guest judges, the higher production value, and the amazing queen moments. A queen does a death drop when she first walks into the studio! The caliber and expectations of the queens are definitely getting higher. RuPaul may have trouble picking America's Next Drag Superstar.
Judging from the trailer Khloe Kardashian, Adam Lambert, Paula Abdul, and Sheryl Lee Ralph will be judges. Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka also appear in matching outfits and may be performing as one judge. NewNowNext reports that other judges include Game of Thrones star Lena Headey, The Exorcist star Linda Blair, Leah Remini, Jaime Pressly, Community’s Gillian Jacobs, Chaz Bono and Cher’s mom, Georgia Holt.
It looks like the acting challenge may be a horror challenge since the girls are covered in blood and Ms. Blair is present. There also has to be a Cher challenge. RuPaul is a die-hard Cher fan and since Cher’s son and mother will be there as judges it seems to make sense. There will be the requisite sitcom challenge that will probably be judged by Remini and Jacobs. There also may be another musical challenge since Abdul and Ralph are judges. If there wasn't so much time to wait we wouldn't have to speculate, Ru!
This looks like it’s bound to be an amazing season.
Here are some amazing quotes from the trailer alone:
We’re drag queens in a f***ing competition; the only thing worse is prison. -Bianca del Rio
I appeared on American Idol. I looked like a lesbian Jonas brother. - Adore Delano (Danny Noriega)
Basic Bitches not wanted. - Khloe Kardashian
This is the motherf***ing Olympics! - RuPaul

Sir Elton John is recovering from his recent surgery on a sun-soaked break in the south of France. The Rocket Man axed all his summer (13) shows after he fell sick with appendicitis last month (Jul13) and he underwent an operation to treat the condition in Monaco on 1 August (13).
He has now been spotted out and about for the first time since the surgery, enjoying a break in St. Tropez, France with his partner David Furnish.
The couple has been pictured soaking up the sun on a yacht with their two sons and a group of friends, including actor Neil Patrick Harris, his partner David Burtka and their two children.
"The older they get, the more I love being a dad. Now that they're talking, I'm really loving the camp counselor end of parenting. I'm all about reasoning. If they fall and are OK but crying, David (Burtka, his partner) will be the hugger, and I'll be the, 'Show me where it hurts; let's talk about it' one. I come from a family of lawyers, so explanation is crucial." Neil Patrick Harris is adjusting to life as a father as his twins Harper and Gideon approach their third birthday this October (13).
"Certainly, we have children and marriage is an appropriate thing to do (as) a part of their wellbeing, so I'm sure it will be inevitable - and awesome! We're about to move to New York so it's a tricky situation. I don't know if it would be an East Coast or West Coast thing." Neil Patrick Harris is considering marrying his longtime partner David Burtka after they relocate to the Big Apple. The couple is parents to twins.
When Neil Patrick Harris was playing a new father in The Smurfs, he felt like the autenthicity of his performance was anchored down by one small fact: he didn't actually have any kids. But since production ended on the first film, the actor's family has expanded to include 2-year-old twins, which he told Hollywood.com on the set of The Smurfs 2 made filming the sequel a whole lot easier. "That little nagging voice in my head saying that I'm not believable isn't really there anymore, because I'm more like the character," Harris said.
In talking about his children, the actor expressed that he's not that concerned with sheltering his kids from certain content. He'd rather show them what's going on in real life and explain it to them when they have questions. Furthermore, Harris doesn't think being a father will affect his choices as an actor. He's going to do what interests him artistically, and if his kids have questions, he'll answer them. "I don't think it'll stop me from doing, you know, soft core porn," he joked. "I'll just eliminate my middle name. Then they won't be able to find it on YouTube."
While porn is probably not actually in Harris' future, one of the reasons we love him is because of his versatility. From The Smurfs to How I Met Your Mother to hosting the Tonys, Harris knows how to entertain on every level.
And speaking of the Tonys, Harris says planning for the show is just as hectic as we might imagine. "An exorbitant amount of effort went into the Tonys," he said. Much of the planning had to happen via FaceTime chats because he still had to be on the Smurfs set. He spent about two weeks multitasking before it was all done. "It's hard to concentrate on two big things at one time," he said, "especially when that one's like the ball in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. It's coming at you with gaining momentum, and you can't stop it. But it turned out well."
Of course it turned out well. How can you not love him as the host? The Tonys without Neil Patrick Harris would be like Smurfs that aren't blue.
Now that Broadway's awards season is over, Harris is fully focused on The Smurfs 2. He said the whole cast feels more confident with this one. They know what the computer-animated graphics look like now, so filming to invisible things that don't exist became much easier. And if this film is as successful as the first, Harris said he would be interested in doing a third movie as well — even if he has no idea what it would be about. "I don't know what that story would be," he said. "Maybe in the third movie, we'll all be different people. We'll be the Smurfs. I don't know. Who knows?"
Harris even has a plan if he ends up playing a Smurf one day. "Who would be my Smurf? I could be Magical Smurf, with a bag of magic tricks."
Whether it's magic tricks or movie magic, Harris never fails to warm our hearts and make us smile. So if you're in need of a dose of adorable fatherhood, see Harris in The Smurfs 2 this July.

Actress/singer Becky Baeling is a married woman after exchanging vows with the son of American Idol boss Nigel Lythgoe. Baeling wed TV producer Kris Lythgoe in a themed ceremony over the weekend (27-28Apr13), and her actor pal Neil Patrick Harris and his partner, David Burtka, were among the guests.
In a post on his Twitter.com page, the How I Met Your Mother star writes, "At our great friends Becky Baeling & Kris Lythgoe's murder mystery wedding. The game, as they say, is afoot!"
Harris also posted a picture of himself dressed as super sleuth Sherlock Holmes, with Burtka appearing to play his companion Dr. Watson, while the bride uploaded a photo of herself in a traditional wedding dress.
It was a big night for Jennifer Lawrence at the 2013 GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday night. Not only did the Oscar-winning actress have the task of presenting President Bill Clinton, the recipient of the Advocate for Change Award at last night's ceremony, but she sent the Internet into a frenzy (what else is new?) when she debuted her new, short haircut.
Celebrity hairdresser Mark Townsend shared a shot of Lawrence's gorgeous new look on Instagram with the message "Meanwhile, this is happening" before she hit the red carpet for the event wearing a stunning little black dress by David Koma. The photo got overwhelmingly positive reception from fans online, who wrote messages in response like, "Crazy gorgeous" and "perfect".
Of course even if Lawrence may look a little different, she still remains her same old charming self we've all come to know and love. According to E! Online, the 22-year-old Catching Fire star had one of her trademark slip-ups on stage. Lawrence, while introducing President Clinton's award with Miramax honcho Harvey Weinstein before Chelsea Clinton introduced her father, the actress reportedly "mildly flubbed" the former President's name.
But President Clinton took the small slip-up in stride and joked, "I don't know why Harvey made Jennifer do that. She really was like 2-years-old when I became president. I met her backstage and she looked like she was touring the Museum of Natural History."

Actor Neil Patrick Harris is moving his family to New York full-time once he finishes filming the final season of How I Met Your Mother in Los Angeles. The star currently lives in California with his partner, David Burtka, and their two-year-old twins, but they are planning to sell up and move to America's East Coast as soon as Harris' hit TV comedy comes to an end next year (14).
Harris admits he wants to live in a state which recognises gay marriage and hopes to make the move soon so his children can be enrolled in school in the Big Apple.
Speaking during an event in New York City, he tells Usmagazine.com, "How I Met Your Mother is wrapping up its last season next year, and we're kind of at the end of a chapter in our lives, (the next chapter) will be in New York. So, it's fun to be here tonight. We're here in New York City and imagining the future, which won't be too far away... Our plan is to reroute ourselves and have our kids start to go to school here. We're at that age where we need to figure out where our kids are going to be educated. Then we hope that work finds us."
