Star power, sex and violence are not alluring enough to make up for storytelling that fails to engage. Lonely Hearts is based on a true story, but in the end, it just leaves us pining for a better story.

With the current field of horror remakes already grossly overpopulated, The Hills Have Eyes doesn’t offer enough to distance itself from its compadres, despite gore and scares that will keep the popcorn flowing. In other words: box office gold.
