  • Project X Review
By: Thomas Leupp March 01, 2012 1:29pm EST
This found-footage 'Superbad' knock-off offers little beyond pointless debauchery.
  • Lonely Hearts Review
By: Steven Trautmann August 08, 2007 1:10pm EST
Star power, sex and violence are not alluring enough to make up for storytelling that fails to engage. Lonely Hearts is based on a true story, but in the end, it just leaves us pining for a better story.
  • The Hitcher Review
By: Brian Marder January 19, 2007 11:55am EST
There’s not a shred of originality to be seen in The Hitcher, but it’s still enough of an assault on two of the five senses to tide you over till the next horror remake.
  • The Holiday Review
By: Kit Bowen December 11, 2006 5:47am EST
Watching The Holiday is a little like ordering a sticky cinnamon bun: You know the gooey, warm sweetness will taste good, but you’ll feel guilty eating it.
  • Rumor Has It... Review
By: Kit Bowen December 23, 2005 7:44am EST
Here’s a rumor for ya: this is pretty bland stuff, despite all the clever people involved and good intentions to pull off a hip dramedy. Ultimately, Rumor Has It doesn’t know what it wants to be.
  • The Dukes of Hazzard Review
By: Kit Bowen August 05, 2005 7:46am EST
I guess if you were a fan of the TV show, this foolhardy Dukes of Hazzard upgrade may appeal to your baser senses. Or it could just remind you how ridiculous it was the show ran for six seasons in the first place.
  • King's Ransom Review
By: Kit Bowen April 22, 2005 8:47am EST
Needless to say, as a cringe-worthy and excruciatingly awful comedy, you shouldn't pay a dime of King's Ransom.
  • Friday Night Lights Review
By: Kit Bowen October 08, 2004 9:39am EST
Perhaps if Friday Night Lights was the first high school football story to come to the big screen, it would be one of the best. Even though the film does sport some superb performances and tackles gritty realism with gusto, it isn't the first to do that--far from it.

  • Gods and Generals Review
By: Kit Bowen February 21, 2003 4:39am EST
Stay far away from the three hour-plus Gods and Generals--unless, of course, you need a good nap.
