Power couple Jay Z and Beyonce have been named the the highest-earning celebrity couple of 2013. The superstar musicians earned a combined $95 million (£63.3 million) through album sales, touring and business ventures, according to Forbes.com.
They earned $15 million (£10 million) more than the second couple on the list, American football star Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bundchen, who raked in $80 million (£53.3 million).
Others included on the rich list are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie with $50 million (£33.3 million), Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis with $35 million (£23.3 million) and Kanye West and Kim Kardashian with $30 million (£20 million).
Shouldn’t that be ‘Financial MADvisor’? Well, sure, ‘Mr. Kardashian’ might be a little on the eccentric side, but then, he’s #75 on the Forbes Rich List and we just blew our last paycheck on a venti latté, so what do we know? Maybe it’s time we listened when Kanye talks (instead of laughing).
Looking at some of his philosophies, a shrewd zen attitude emerges. For example, when Kanye says, “Having money isn't everything, not having it is.” Well, he should know. He has experienced both scenarios – we’ve only been broke.
This week’s anti-corporate rant at a Pusha T album preview shindig is a case in point.
"I don’t give a f*** about any of these corporations…. We don't give a f*** about how much g*****n money you make! We make G.O.O.D. music!" he said, segueing effortlessly into name-checking camouflage jackets - and Ferris Bueller. (Still pertinent, no doubt. Our financial advisor needs to understand the fashion industry and popular culture).
Pocket-friendly living is where Kanye comes into his own. While Yeezy loves himself some Margiela, he also prizes earthly comforts - some of them free! As in:
“I don’t know what’s better – gettin’ laid or gettin’ paid”.
(Probably getting paid, though, right?)
Contemplating a prenup? He takes the hard line in ‘Golddigger’.
‘If you ain’t no punk, holla “We want prenup”/ It’s something that you need to have / Cause when she leave your ass, she gonna leave with half / 18 years, 18 years – and on the 18th birthday he found out it wasn’t his?!”
A chilling parable indeed – take heed, punks.
And finally, lateral thinking is what makes Ye an innovator in the rap game - and keeps him on top. Whether it’s a god delusion here, a Kardashian babymama there - the man knows how to keep his life, his flow – and by extension, his finances – fresh.
So guys, “Take your diamonds and throw 'em up like you're bulimic” from time to time. Yes, cubic zirconia will do...for now.

Angelina Jolie is to receive the 2013 Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The actress will join Angela Lansbury and Steve Martin among those being honoured at the fifth annual Governors Awards gala in November (13).
Lansbury and Martin will be handed honorary awards, while Jolie will collect her second Oscar statuette for her humanitarian efforts, which an AMPAS spokesman says, "have brought credit to the industry".
The honour will tie up a landmark year for the actress, who underwent a double mastectomy in February (13) after learning she was a carrier of the 'faulty' BRCA1 gene, which increased her likelihood of developing breast cancer by 80 per cent. She also topped Forbes magazine's list of the highest-paid actresses.
Meanwhile, upon learning about his latest honour, Steve Martin says, "I'm proud to win an honorary Oscar this year. A salute to comedy and all the great people I've worked with."

She founded the first Zara store in 1975 with her then-husband, Armancio Ortega, who is listed by Forbes as the world's third-richest person.
British DJ Calvin Harris has failed to persuade his pop star girlfriend Rita Ora to become a fan of his music. The beatmaster has just topped Forbes Magazine's World's Highest Paid DJs list and broken several U.K. chart records with his hit album 18 Months.
However, despite his success, Harris' singer girlfriend doesn't enjoy listening to his music and has ruled out the idea of a future collaboration.
The DJ tells Britain's The Sun, "Rita doesn't like dance music. She doesn't really like my music, but I like hers. (But) we're not together for musical reasons which is great.
"We're trying to keep business and pleasure separate and she's not really into the idea (of a collaboration)."
DJ Calvin Harris has been crowned the world's highest paid DJ after raking in $46 million (£30.6 million) in the past year. Editors at Forbes magazine estimate the Scottish hitmaker earned the big bucks between August, 2012 and August, 2013, easily making him number one in their new World's Highest Paid DJs list.
Harris, who has played over 100 live shows, averaging $195,000 (£130,000) per performance, credits the increasing popularity of dance music in recent years for his monumental success, adding, "I happened to be in the right place at the right time."

James comes in ahead of veteran crime author Patterson, who is at number two with estimated pay of $91 million (£60.7 million) for the period between June, 2012 and June, 2013, and The Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins ($55 million/£36.7 million).
