Bobby Brown marked Father's Day on Sunday (15Jun14) by reuniting with his daughter Bobbi Kristina. The New Edition star is believed to have been estranged from the 21 year old since the death of her mother, superstar singer Whitney Houston, in 2012, and even missed her wedding to Nick Gordon in January (14).
However, father and daughter were reunited this weekend (14-15Jun14) to mark Father's Day and Bobbi Kristina documented the meeting by posting a series of pictures on her Twitter.com page.
One of the shots shows Bobbi Kristina jumping into her dad's arms. She writes in a series of posts, "Out to dinner with daddy... #HappyHappyFathersDay! (sic)... #Happy Father's Day! (sic)."
Whitney Houston's sister-in-law has been granted an extension to a restraining order she obtained against the husband of the late singer's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. Pat Houston requested a protection order against Nick Gordon last month (Mar14) following an alleged bust-up at a family party.
A judge ordered Gordon to stay away from the I Will Always Love You star's former manager and executor of her estate through a temporary restraining order, which has now been extended for 12 months.
He is banned from contacting Houston or anyone in her immediate family and faces jail if he comes within 200 yards (182.8 metres/600 feet) of them.
Whitney Houston's sister-in-law has obtained a restraining order against the new husband of the late singer's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown after alleging he made threats against her. Pat Houston claims Nick Gordon also posted photos of guns on Twitter.com earlier this month (Mar14), directly after an alleged fight at a family function.
Now he has been ordered to stay away from the I Will Always Love you star's former manager and confidante, who is also the executor of her sister-in-law's estate.
Gordon received the legal paperwork on Monday (24Mar14).
Brown and Gordon announced they were married in January (14).
Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown has defended herself against online jibes about her weight. The 21 year old, whose father is Bobby Brown, has been bombarded with abuse on Twitter.com after uploading several snaps showing off her extremely slim figure.
Now Brown has hit back at her critics, insisting she is naturally lithe like her late mother.
Taking to Twitter.com she writes, "I am my mother's child! Have you ever heard of a fast metabolism? Damn, lol (laugh out loud), it's incredible how the world will judge you 4 any & everything. (sic)"
Her husband, Nick Gordon, adds, "My baby is perfect the way she is. And for the record she was made that way why change I know she is beautiful."
Houston was criticised by fans in 2001 when she performed at a Michael Jackson tribute concert looking worryingly gaunt.
For the bulk of every Rocky and Bullwinkle episode, moose and squirrel would engage in high concept escapades that satirized geopolitics, contemporary cinema, and the very fabrics of the human condition. With all of that to work with, there's no excuse for why the pair and their Soviet nemeses haven't gotten a decent movie adaptation. But the ingenious Mr. Peabody and his faithful boy Sherman are another story, intercut between Rocky and Bullwinkle segments to teach kids brief history lessons and toss in a nearly lethal dose of puns. Their stories and relationship were much simpler, which means that bringing their shtick to the big screen would entail a lot more invention — always risky when you're dealing with precious material.
For the most part, Mr. Peabody & Sherman handles the regeneration of its heroes aptly, allowing for emotionally substance in their unique father-son relationship and all the difficulties inherent therein. The story is no subtle metaphor for the difficulties surrounding gay adoption, with society decreeing that a dog, no matter how hyper-intelligent, cannot be a suitable father. The central plot has Peabody hosting a party for a disapproving child services agent and the parents of a young girl with whom 7-year-old Sherman had a schoolyard spat, all in order to prove himself a suitable dad. Of course, the WABAC comes into play when the tots take it for a spin, forcing Peabody to rush to their rescue.
Getting down to personals, we also see the left brain-heavy Peabody struggle with being father Sherman deserves. The bulk of the emotional marks are hit as we learn just how much Peabody cares for Sherman, and just how hard it has been to accept that his only family is growing up and changing.
But more successful than the new is the film's handling of the old — the material that Peabody and Sherman purists will adore. They travel back in time via the WABAC Machine to Ancient Egypt, the Renaissance, and the Trojan War, and 18th Century France, explaining the cultural backdrop and historical significance of the settings and characters they happen upon, all with that irreverent (but no longer racist) flare that the old cartoons enjoyed. And oh... the puns.
Mr. Peabody & Sherman is a f**king treasure trove of some of the most amazingly bad puns in recent cinema. This effort alone will leave you in awe.
The film does unravel in its final act, bringing the science-fiction of time travel a little too close to the forefront and dropping the ball on a good deal of its emotional groundwork. What seemed to be substantial building blocks do not pay off in the way we might, as scholars of animated family cinema, have anticipated, leaving the movie with an unfinished feeling.
But all in all, it's a bright, compassionate, reasonably educational, and occasionally funny if not altogether worthy tribute to an old favorite. And since we don't have our own WABAC machine to return to a time of regularly scheduled Peabody and Sherman cartoons, this will do okay for now.
If nothing else, it's worth your time for the puns.

R&B singer Bobby Brown had no idea his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown secretly married her 'adopted' brother Nick Gordon last month (Jan14). Gordon was informally adopted by Bobbi's mother, Whitney Houston, when he was just 12 years old. His friendship with Bobbi Kristina turned into romance and the pair married in a secret ceremony in January (14).
Her father, New Edition star Brown, has now revealed he was unaware of the nuptials, telling TMZ.com, "She didn't get married... she's still single."
Brown admitted he was not invited to the wedding and added, "I don't have much to say about it. If she says she is (married)... I don't know about it."
The couple is reportedly planning a lavish second ceremony this summer (14).
Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown has credited her new husband Nick Gordon for "saving her life" after the death of her mother. Gordon, who Houston adopted when he was just 12 years old, and Brown exchanged vows in a secret ceremony last month (Jan14), and now the newlyweds are talking about the friendship-turned-romance.
Brown reveals she couldn't have imagined being with anyone else after her mother drowned in the bathtub of a Los Angeles hotel in February, 2012.
She tells Britain's The Sun, "He's saved my life through such an extremely difficult time. I was very, very low at some points. He's been everything for me and that means a lot to me.
"If my mother could see me now she would just be so incredibly happy. I can just see her - she'd be running around fussing about the wedding. She wanted this."
Brown, who is Houston's daughter with singer Bobby Brown, adds, "She would always be saying to us, 'You guys are going to get married. I already know you're going to get married and have children'. But at the time, we really didn't think it was going to happen.
"Out of nowhere, we fell madly in love with each other... It took us completely by surprise, just like mom's death did. Before then, we had lived as best friends, as brother and sister."
The couple is planning a lavish second wedding ceremony this summer (14).
Whitney Houston's daughter and her new husband have opened up about married life for the first time since announcing they had wed earlier this month (Jan14). Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon sat down with U.S. TV news show Extra for their first interview together as man and wife, and revealed the criticism about their romance only served to draw them closer.
Critics and family members were turned off the idea of the pair becoming a married couple - because they grew up as brother and sister. Houston informally adopted Gordon when he was a kid going through a tough time at home.
He says, "(The criticism) put a fire in us... The critics can say whatever they want to say... It's like we have a force field and that s**t's just bouncing off of it."
But Gordon insists the romance between him and Brown didn't blossom until after her mother's death in 2012.
He reveals, "We were young. Krissy looked at me as an older brother, and I looked at her as a little sister and she (Houston) treated me like she gave birth to me. She treated me like a son. Excuse me for saying this, but she treated me better than my birth mother. I owe everything to her.
"She made me promise several times to look after Krissy... and, Mum, I will never ever, ever break that promise."
He adds, "She wanted this. This is something she wanted to see."
The couple also used the new TV interview to clear up reports suggesting the wedding news has caused a rift between Bobbi Kristina and her maternal grandmother Cissy Houston, insisting the veteran gospel singer gave the lovebirds her blessing after initially urging her granddaughter not to rush into marriage.
Brown says, "She told both of us that she loved us very, very, very much, and Nick came up and he said, 'Grandma, I want to marry her. Is it OK? I need your blessing to do this. If I don't have your blessing, I won't feel right.' She looked at him and she smiled... very wide and said, 'Yes, son, you have my blessing'."
And the new bride admits she has also patched up another tattered relationship with her father, Bobby Brown, adding, "We have a relationship. It's a good one right now. At a point in time, we didn't even have that... I love my father more than anything."
