Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan were recently tapped to join director and photographer Anton Corbijn's new film, Life, about a pivotal LIFE Magazine interview in 1955 that sparked a road trip and friendship between photojournalist Dennis Stock and iconic American actor James Dean. Corbijn, who has a long history of collaboration with Tom Waits, makes a natural fit with the story of photographer and performer relating.
Pattinson will be playing the conservative Stock, while DeHaan will be taking on the role of troubled actor Dean. After proving himself a more than capable performer in both In Treatment and last year's breakout Chronicle, DeHaan signed on to the Sony's new Amazing Spider-Man sequel to play Harry Osborn, a role brought to life by James Franco in the early 2000s. Now, DeHaan is set to star in another role once played by Franco, who embodied Dean in a TV movie in 2001. As far as actors go, Franco's not a terrible inspiration. His résumé may be long, eclectic, and feature a few too many episodes of General Hospital, but even when he's starred in flops (and there's been a fair share of flops) he's usually doing something either new or interesting. What's next? DeHaan on spring break (4eva)? DeHaan as a Flyboy? DeHaan selling invisible art on Kickstarter? DeHaan playing himself in one of the funniest movies of summer 2023?
Let's not forget about Pattinson. First of all, it's nearly impossible to with all the speculation over the relative broken/unbrokeness of his relationship with Kristen Stewart. Second, he's expressed a desire to do something different and interesting with his post-Twilight work, and this fits right in. He's starred in one David Cronenberg film (Cosmopolis) and just finished another (A Map to the Stars). And The Rover, which should be released later this year, is a dark and gritty crime story that. Those fiercely independant choices combined with Life might finally put the Twilight sparkle to rest for good.

You don't gain the thespian bravado occupied by the likes of John Malkovich without looking at the world as your stage. In between features at the moment, the master of the screen and stage was recently caught on camera during a vacation in Sweden. But for a man whose blood pumps celluloid, you've got to imagine that civilian life is nothing but a bore. As such, Malkovich needs to spice things up by adding some dramatic flare to everyday life. So when the Dangerous Liaisons star found himself in the otherwise mundane situation of ambling about in a public square in Stockholm in the company of only a strange toddler, his cinematic mind kicked into action. Oh, the bounty of ideas...
Sleepless in Stockholm"All right, John," says Malkovich. "In this scene, you're playing an insomniac who — still dressed in his pajamas — gathers all of his earthly possessions in a single handbag to make a trip across the Atlantic to meet the Swedish resident he has been chatting with on the Internet... only to realize that she's only six years old. And... cue disturbed face!"
The Dark Knight, Jr.Malkovich gears up for another: "Okay, John. Here, you're the Batman villain The Riddler, stripped of your question marks after a dry spell in riddle-based crimes that has come from an absence of Bruce Waynes to torture. But, lo and behold, you've found your new nemesis: Wayne's illegitimate daughter, the next in line to wear the Bat suit, and she's already got her eye on the bag of money you've stolen from Gotham's Little Stockholm neighborhood. And... cue enigmatic face!"
Freaky FredagAnd another: "Here we go, Johnny Boy. In this one, you've just realized that the wish you made at the famous Gothenberg fountain to switch lives with a plucky young native has come true, and your body is housing the mind and spirit of a 7-year-old girl! As you, in the body of the little lady, try to convince her (in your body) to hand over the briefcase filled with your important business papers, you/she can't help but delight in the chaotic ordeal. And... cue nanny-nanny-poo-poo face!"
Being John MonkeyvichOne last shot: "Here we go, J-Malk. All bets are off. You know the new Planet of the Apes movies? Well, we're going to make our own. If Andy Serkis can do mo-cap, so can you. You're the chimp. Just flail about like a chimp, and they'll digitize the whole thing later. Here, this ridiculous blue sheet, they can computer animate some ape fur over that. Pretend this handbag is a banana. And that little girl? She'll be our James Franco. It's perfect! It'll make millions! You won't have to do red 3! And... cue stop-judging-me-I-really-want-that-houseboat face!"

This weekend, the Lady Gaga and Perez Hilton feud leapt from classically passive aggressive to artful levels of wacky. Charges that the blogger is pitting Gaga and Katy Perry's singles and fandoms against each other? Daily business. Being accused of "stalking" the singer and receiving death threats from her fans? Upping the ante. Firing back veiled allegations of drug use and peer sabotage at the diva? Now that's primetime Twitter beef. But like any good celebrity feud, the commotion has been heavy on the feuding and low on the explaining. Although Hilton has sworn up and down "the truth will come to light" all that is left is the rest of us wondering how the once relationship between the infamous blogger and the pop star has soured so much (and, seemingly, so quickly).
But it should come as no surprise that Hilton's opinion of Gaga has changed so drastically — it's become a common occurrence for the gossip peddler to alternatively warm up and turn cold on female entertainers. Here's a visual breakdown of Hilton's relationships with his favorite, and occasionally least favorite, pop stars. (Click the below images to enlarge.)

A former prosecutor who handled cases against Bruno Mars and Paris Hilton has been found dead at his home in Las Vegas. David Schubert's body was discovered on Wednesday (17Jul13). No further details about his death were available as WENN went to press.
The former deputy district attorney prosecuted Mars and Hilton for cocaine possession in separate incidents, but hit the headlines himself when he was sentenced to nine months behind bars on drugs and weapon charges last February (12).
The 49 year old struck a plea deal after authorities discovered $40 (£25) worth of crack cocaine and an unregistered firearm in his car in 2011. He was released from jail on parole in April (13).
Mars was sentenced to community service after pleading guilty to felony cocaine possession in February (11), while socialite Hilton was handed probation after admitting charges of drug possession and obstructing an officer in 2010.
Who else but pop star Lady Gaga comes to mind when you hear the word godmother? Oh sorry, not the fairy kind. But that is the person Elton John has once again chosen to be his child's godmother.
After welcoming his second son, Elijah, into the world in January, the Rocket Man and his partner, David Furnish have given the godparent title to the Fame Monster — who is also the godmother to his two-and-a-half year-old son, Zachary. In an interview with Extra, the legendary rocker said about the singer (who he has already collaborated with professionally), "She's a great role model. She's young. She's been a great godmother to Zachary."
Plus, what's a celebrity child without a famous godparent? Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's kids have Bono. Drew Barrymore's daughter has Steven Spielberg. And like the English singer/songwriter says, "We're all bonkers in this businss, but we're human beings at the same time."

The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon? It's looking like a strong possibility. Word around the Late Night watercooler is NBC is looking to move Fallon into a better time slot: Jay Leno's!
Despite the long-time host's great ratings, the network is hoping to connect more with the 18-49 demographic — something ABC is having success with after moving late night host, Jimmy Kimmel to an earlier slot. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the move could happen as early as summer of 2014, as both Leno and CBS' David Letterman are under contract until that time.
