On Thursday, Army Wives star, Kim Delaney, appeared at an event at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia to honor former Defense Secretary Robert Gates and was scheduled to give a speech about how hard it is for army families to go on with their lives after losing their loved ones during wartime. But as Delaney took her place at the podium and began to give her speech, it became clear that she'd been drinking because she was slurring her words and was inserting long pauses into her sentences. Additionally, her hair looked a little unkempt and she delivered her remarks in such a detached manner that she seemed completely disinterested in where she was. Furthermore, she also stated that she "served in active military family duty for five years," and "attended numerous military funerals," one of which was for her best friend's son. But then, Delaney clarified that she actually did none of those things -- it was her character on Army Wives that did.
Eventually, a movie started to play behind her and then a woman wearing a headset (probably a producer) went up on stage and beckoned Delaney to follow her off the stage. Numerous media outlets report her behavior may have been the result of her ongoing problem with alcohol, which in 2002 led to her arrest for suspicion of drunk driving and for refusing a breathalyzer test. Delaney pleaded no contest to the charges and has reportedly been to a rehab facility twice.
Delaney's publicist has declined to discuss the issue of her client's performance and appearance at the ceremony. But it's kind of almost better that way.
William Shatner is, in one way or another, one of the most iconic living actors. His distinct delivery, his infamous attitude, and his alternative career choices are all easy pickings for parody. And in his later years, Shatner has proven willing to laugh at himself. But he seems about ready to show us that he's more than a joke. And next season, through an episode of ABC's Rookie Blue, he will attempt to prove just that.
Shatner has been cast in the cop series' third season premiere. His character will be a drunk driver who is arrested by one of the central characters. Although the "bawdy drunk" is an inherently comical character, Shatner will not be playing entirely for laughs. The close of his character's story at the end of the Season 3 premiere will take a dramatic, presumably somber turn. The drama will likely come from a deeper look into the man's drinking problem.
The cast and crew has expressed excitement regarding this guest star spot and Shatner is no stranger to law enforcement television, as he immortalized T.J. Hooker.
Rookie Blue's second season finale debuts tomorrow (Thursday, September 8) at 10/9c on ABC.
It's been a long time since we've seen Chris Tucker in a movie and an even longer time since we've seen him in a watchable movie -- but that all may well change soon.
We've heard these 'Chris Tucker Eying a Role in [insert action comedy]' rumors before, but, well, Chris Tucker is eying a role in an action comedy. And another movie, too!
After almost five years since his last movie (Rush Hour 3), Tucker is reportedly considering joining the cast of Neighborhood Watch, the high-profile action comedy co-written by Seth Rogen and set to star Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill and Vince Vaughn.
More surprisingly, the Friday star is in negotiations for David O. Russell's dramedy The Silver Linings Playbook, adapted from the novel of the same name. Tucker would play Bradley Cooper's mental-hospital-patient friend in Playbook, which also has Jennifer Lawrence attached.

Last night Jimmy Fallon welcomed Christina Ricci to Late Night to talk about her braving Hurricane Irene despite her building's evacuation.
Also on Late Night, comedian Jim Gaffigan appeared to joke about his new baby, parenthood, Sara McLaughlin commericals, and The Jersey Shore.
On The Late Show, David Arquette appeared to discuss his decision to appear on Dancing With the Stars.
Finally, Letterman also welcomed Parks and Recreation's Aubrey Plaza to the show to reminisce about her costumed meeting with Donald Trump.
After it was announced in January of 2010 that David Hasselhoff was leaving his spot at the judges table on America's Got Talent, it was reported that he was too busy to participate on the NBC show because he pursuing his own reality show. The Los Angeles Times confirmed the news that the Baywatch star had, in fact, landed a spot in A&E's programming, where cameras would follow him as he works to help his daughters (Taylor-Ann and Hayley) get their singing careers started. However, rumors that Hasselhoff's problem with alcohol was the real reason why he left America's Got Talent, and the still nonexistence of such a show on A&E only strengthened the suspicion that a drinking problem remained.
The Hoff's future perked up when he was cast as a judge on Britain's Got Talent in December of 2010, and of the new job, Hasselhoff said, "I'm a massive fan of Britain's Got Talent and am extremely excited to be a judge on the new series. I was so thrilled when Simon Cowell asked me that I immediately wanted to run into Ant and Dec's arms to celebrate." But unfortunately things must have gone south because today, we learned that Hoff has been let go from his position on the show. An insider told Perez Hilton, "David was a great booking at the time. We thought he'd bring loads of laugh and warmth but it didn't work out. He was fun but had no connection with the acts. The panel lacked sparkle and it was reflected in the acts that went through." The insider added that additional reasons for why the show felt a little out-of-whack was because David had problems understanding the contestants' accents, and the acts that the judges praised "were below par."
So what's next for the Hoff? As weird as it is to say, he can pretty much do anything. Lord knows he's certainly got a jacket for it all.

While promoting Due Date to Playboy Magazine last November, Robert Downey Jr. hinted that he and his wife Susan Downey wanted to have a child together pretty soon because he wanted to be "wrist-deep in doo-doo within 18 months." Already father to now 18 year-old son Indio (whose mother is Deborah Falconer, whom Downey Jr. was married to from 1992 to 2004), Downey said he probably would want his next child to be a girl because "I don't want another male entity to have to compete; I don't want Indio to feel there's another boy in my life. But I don't know what we'd have to do [to have a girl]. Do we have to put it in a spoon and hang it upside-down?"
Well whatever the Downeys ended up doing, all they can do now is wait because Radar Online is reporting that the couple is officially expecting their first child. Family members confirm that Susan's due in February, and her aunt told Star Magazine, "I think it's wonderful that she's pregnant. The baby is due in February. Susan's father, my brother, called me about three weeks ago with the good news. Her parents are over the moon about it." In terms of whether or not the Downeys continue to cross their fingers for a girl, Miller stated "It doesn't really matter if it's a boy or a girl. What really matters is if the baby is healthy." And that's definitely true -- but what's also definitely true is that his days of sulking around in Elton John music videos are over, and that's something that surely matters to everyone.

Remember the Oxygen failed experiment, er, series The World According to Paris? You're not alone, and it looks like there won't be a second season for everyone to forget about, which is a real shocker.
The World According to Paris (not to be confused with The World According to Garp) premiered June 1 to weak ratings that only got weaker. Usually, that means no renewal, and it looks like even Paris Hilton is not immune to the harsh realities of the TV world.
We last heard about The World in July, when Paris left an interview after she was asked about the low ratings. (Scroll down to watch the video.)
The series was touted as an insider's look into the life of one of Hollywood's biggest shouldn't-be stars, but not many people can confirm the details of its premise.
Update: As many of you probably suspected, the rumors about Will and Jada parting ways are reportedly inaccurate (gasp). According to Us Weekly, an insider (I'm assuming not the same one that started this lunacy in the first place) close to the couple stated that the story is "100 percent not true...It's total bulls***." Well, there you have it. This isn't the first time the famous duo has had to defend their marriage. In June 2009, Jada shot down speculation that they were having trouble saying, "I've heard all the things -- their marriage is not real, he's gay, she's gay, they swing. But at the end of the day, people have to believe what they have to believe. I'll tell you what, it's too hard to be in a pretend marriage. Life's too short for that one." We're glad to hear everything is A-Okay in the Smith household!
Earlier: Since InTouch Magazine claimed that Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith separated, the internet erupted in cries of sadness and curiosity, questioning if these rumors are true. Every well-known celebrity couple has had to deal with break-up rumors circulating in the media, so it's always hard to distinguish the facts from the farse. According to the magazine, they got their information by way of an insider who claims that the split is real, but the couple's reps have not yet confirmed anything regarding this matter. So far Today, TMZ, Perez Hilton, and the Daily Mail are also reporting this breaking news, but we'll have to wait and see what the couple's reps (or ex-couple's reps) have to say about this whole ordeal.
Will and Jada have been married for 13 years now and have two children together, Jaden and Willow. Let's hope these rumors end up being false, so I can continue believing that some Hollywood romances really can work out. Stay tuned for more details!

Well we can add this to the growing list of publicity stunts that don't work out. As miracles would have it, Kat Von D is now back together with former fiance, Jesse James just a day after her suffering show, LA Ink got canceled. It seems highly convenient that the twosome have found their way back into each others' tattoo covered arms so quickly -- makes you wonder if there was really ever a break-up in the first place. This has publicity stunt written all over it and was just done in a desperate attempt to boost ratings for Von D's show. I mean, her show gets the boot from TLC just yesterday and now the couple are magically back together? Come on! I mean, clearly this little tactic didn't work, but nice try. At least now they can show their inked up faces walking around together in public again. But fine I'll play along: everyone say it with me -- hip-hip-hooray for the happy couple...now moving on.
How do we know the exciting news to be true? The pair, who called off their engagement last month, posted on Twitter separate photos of themselves locked in embraces with each other. James even added a caption under one photo saying "para siempre," which is Spanish for forever. If he keeps up the sweet talk like that, Kat's sure to get another tattoo of his face on her body. But if these photos aren't enough to convince you that these two little lovebirds are back and better than ever, then you should know that James confirmed the news in an interview with People magazine, and maintained that Von D is once again wearing her ring. In a statement, James said "Sometimes you are only given one chance in life...it was up to me to open my eyes and see it. That girl is my chance. I will never stop fighting and striving to hold on to her. Showing her how special she is, and how much I love her." It's true, love knows no boundaries, or in this case -- no ratings.
