British pop star Ellie Goulding has been the target of online abuse following reports she is dating One Direction star Niall Horan. The pair was linked after they were potted sharing a kiss at Britain's V Festival earlier this month (Aug13).
The Your Song hitmaker has since been bombarded with tweets from obsessed fans of the band, and she insists she has decided against speaking about her reported romance with the Irish singer.
She tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "Oh God, I knew this was coming! I just can't talk about Niall. I won't ever talk about my love life any more because it's always then gone wrong when I have in the past.
"But I will say this, I've definitely had some 'interesting' tweets since the story came out. Thankfully I'm able to take it all with a pinch of salt because I've been told to be that way.
"I genuinely mean this - I don't hate on anyone, but at least One Direction fans are very passionate and my fans are very passionate too. I'd hate it if people didn't care about what they thought."
The singer has previously dated actor Jeremy Irvine, dubstep star Skrillex, and British DJ Greg James.
The Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood is giving Niall Horan lessons in rock 'n' roll by teaching the One Direction star to play guitar. Horan was given the chance to meet the musician backstage during the Stones' North American tour earlier this year (13) and they have since forged a friendship, with Wood even turning out for the premiere of the band's documentary film in London on Tuesday night (20Aug13).
The Irish pop star has now revealed Wood is passing on his guitar skills by giving him lessons - even though Horan has apparently been playing the instrument onstage at One Direction gigs for months.
He tells Britain's The Sun, "He's been teaching me how to play the guitar. He had this slider on his finger and showed me how to do it."
Wood has also been giving the 19 year old advice on how to deal with fame.
Horan adds, "He told us to enjoy the ride and have fun as you never know how long it's going to last."
"We had done about 10 or 11 but got in trouble and had to remove some so it was getting a bit expensive." Niall Horan admits One Direction had to quit their tradition of leaving behind graffiti at each of their concert venues after being hit with sky-high cleaning bills.
Boy band One Direction brought the centre of London to a standstill on Tuesday evening (20Aug13) as they launched their new tour film 1D: This Is Us in Leicester Square. Band members Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson walked the red carpet at the Empire cinema as more than 70,000 fans screamed out their names.
The group, which came together on U.K. talent show The X Factor in 2010, teamed up with documentarian Morgan Spurlock - the man behind the films Supersize Me and Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? - to make the new movie about life on the road.
Simon Cowell, who created the band, joined celebrities like Ronnie Wood, Little Mix, JLS and Lily Cooper at the premiere, and told reporters he "felt like a father" to the bandmates, referencing the fact he's about to become a real-life first-time dad.
The music and TV mogul, who was joined by ex-girlfriends Mezhgan Hussainy and Sinitta on the red carpet, boasted about how proud he was of the group and the movie, adding, "I always dreamed when I was kid one day I could produce a movie, so this is fantastic. It's the first one and hopefully won't be the last... It was an incredible experience.
"Anyone who wants to know what it's like to be in a band needs to watch this movie."
Director Spurlock was also at the big event and admitted it was "the greatest movie premiere I have ever been to in my life".
A representative for Ellie Goulding has dismissed rumours linking the British singer to One Direction star Niall Horan after they were spotted together at a festival over the weekend (17-18Aug13). The two stars both attended Virgin Media's V Festival and they were spotted hanging out together at the Chelmsford site in England on Sunday (18Aug13).
The reports sparked rumours of a blossoming new relationship, but a spokesperson for Goulding is adamant there is no romance between the pair, telling Britain's Daily Mirror, "(They are) just good friends."
One Direction have been ordered to hold off on partying after the London premiere of their new movie to avoid causing chaos in the U.K. capital. Around 70,000 fans are expected to show up to see the boyband walk the red carpet on Tuesday (20Aug13), before unveiling This Is Us at a theatre in Leicester Square, where hundreds of youngsters have been camping out ahead of their arrival.
In a bid to control the crowds, a spokesperson for Westminster Council has urged devotees to check out the action online, saying, "We are obviously encouraging people, if they can, to watch it (the premiere) from home."
Meanwhile, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Harry Styles have been advised not to hold an afterparty - because it could cause a frenzy among fans attempting to follow the heart-throb singers.
Horan explains, "The 'after show police' have been trying to stop us doing anything because there'll be so many fans trying to get in. We were told that up to 70,000 fans could come along to the premiere. It will shut central London down."
Metropolitan Police bosses insist "appropriate plans are in place" for the much anticipated event.
"Great last few days V Festival! It was incredible! Wish I could have stayed there for another week! Although I didn't bring enough boxers." One Direction star Niall Horan had a fun time attending Britain's Virgin Media V Festival in Chelmsford, England over the weekend (17-18Aug13).
British singer Paloma Faith battled through a nasty bout of jet lag to play a double set at Britain's Virgin Media's V Festival in Chelmsford, England on Saturday (17Aug13). The Picking Up The Pieces star performed an intimate set for VIP guests in the Virgin Media Louder Lounge for celebrity guests, including One Direction's Niall Horan, and she apologised to the crowd for feeling under the weather, saying, "I'm so sorry, I'm really jet lagged."
She put her fatigue behind her to perform for a second time on the main stage before headliner Beyonce.
One Direction star Harry Styles has stunned fans by locking lips with actor James Corden on U.K. TV. The pop singer and his bandmates taped a guest appearance on Corden's British quiz show A League of Their Own, and Styles became centre of attention when he climbed onto Corden's lap, put his hand on his face and leaned in for a kiss.
The pair locked lips to re-enact a 'kiss-cam' moment, which are seen at many U.S. sporting events.
Styles was recently forced to straighten out rumours about his sexuality by telling Britain's GQ magazine he is definitely not romancing his DJ friend Nick Grimshaw, saying, "We're not dating, no. We're just friends. Bisexual? Me? I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I'm not."
The episode of A League Of Their Own featuring Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan airs in the U.K. on 30 August (13).
