"Big love to derby county for sending me this seasons (sic) home shirt! It's lovely!" One Direction star Niall Horan receives a special delivery from bosses at his favourite soccer team, England's Derby County Football Club. He shared a photo of his new jersey, personalised with his last name on the back, with fans online on Tuesday (13Aug13).
One Direction star Niall Horan was left red-faced when a cheeky prank went too far and he was left with a semi-permanent tattoo of James Corden's face on his backside. The Irish singer is the only member of the boyband without any body art, and British comic Corden highlighted this fact on his U.K. comedy panel game show A League Of Their Own when Horan was a guest.
Corden decided to ink his friend with a temporary transfer and Horan readily agreed, even suggesting his butt as the perfect place for the picture.
However, Horan was unable to wash off the transfer and was stuck with it for three weeks.
Corden tells Britain's The Sun, "We made a thing on the show that he's the only member of the band without a tattoo. I said to him, 'We've got this idea of putting a tattoo of my face on your body'. Niall went, 'You should put it on my a**e'.
"We tattooed it on his left buttock - it took him three weeks to get rid of it. He sent me an update every week, with a photo of my fading face on his a**e saying, 'It's still not gone yet'."
One Direction stars Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson stunned a female fan when they singled out her out as she was trying to sneak out of their concert in Los Angeles and begged her to stay. The What Makes You Beautiful hitmakers were performing at the city's Staples Center when they spotted the woman attempting to leave the gig early with her daughter to beat the post-concert traffic.
Tomlinson and Horan immediately called out to the woman and began jokingly heckling her, even quoting lyrics from Carly Rae Jepsen's hit track Call Me Maybe, to get her to sit down again.
In a video, posted on Perezhilton.com, Tomlinson says, "She's trying to beat the traffic, the old classic," while Horan adds, "In the words of the hit song by Carly Rae Jepsen, 'Where d'ya thing you're going baby?'... I promise you, our next song is the last one, then you can leave. Yeah, deal?"
The pair appeared to be successful as they then cheered and thanked the woman for returning to her seat.
One Direction are on track to become the first billion dollar boy band by 2014. The group, which consists of members Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan, owes a lot of the revenue to tickets sales alone, accounting for half of their fortune.
The remainder comes from album sales totalling $300 million (£200 million) and merchandise, while the upcoming release of their 3-D movie This Is Us is expected to earn approximately $150 million (£100 million).
One Direction formed in 2010 after the individual members competed as solo stars on reality show The X Factor in the U.K., and subsequently signed with Simon Cowell's Syco Records.
Soccer idol David Beckham thrilled the stars of boyband One Direction by making a surprise visit to their gig in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (08Aug13). Singer Niall Horan took to Twitter.com to tell his fans the retired sports ace had brought his sons Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 10, and eight year old Cruz, along with daughter Harper, two, backstage to meet the boys after the gig.
He writes, "Met our footballing hero! Mr David Beckham! He brought the boys and the little girl to see us! What a nice man! So courteous!"
One Direction are set to play a further three shows at Los Angeles Staples Center this week (ends11Aug13) as part of their Take Me Home world tour.
One Direction star Niall Horan is battling throat problems on stage after falling sick during the band's North American tour. The singer struggled with his vocals during the pop group's show in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday night (24Jul13) after coming down with a sore throat.
He apologised to fans for his performance, writing in a post on Twitter.com, "I apologise now to anyone comin (to) Denver show! Throat is all over the place!"
Horan later returned to Twitter on Thursday morning (25Jul13) to reveal he is still battling ill health, adding, "Woke up at 6am! Can't get back (to) sleep! It's s**t being sick isn't it?"
The band is due back on stage in Salt Lake City, Utah on Thursday night.
One Direction have shattered video viewing records on entertainment website VEVO after 10.7 million fans flocked to check out the band's latest promo in one day. The group debuted its Best Song Ever video on Monday (22Jul13), and the bandmates were stunned when the promo quickly became VEVO's biggest 24-hour hit ever, beating a record Miley Cyrus set with We Can't Stop a month ago.
In the video, Harry Styles and his pals play caricatures of people they have encountered in the music industry - Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson play record label executives, Zayn Malik a sexy assistant, Styles a marketing man, and Liam Payne a choreographer.
The promo also features clips from the boy band's new movie, One Direction: This is Us.
Horan has taken to Twitter to thank fans for helping the band break a new record.
He writes, "Wow! You guys broke the vevo 24 hour record! Wow! Thank you so much! Love you lots!"
Pop stars One Direction will be unrecognisable in their new music video after undergoing drastic makeovers. The boyband is set to release new single Best Song Ever later this month (Jul13), and they have unveiled a teaser for the promo which shows Niall Horan as an old man.
The 19 year old sports a greying beard and thinning hair while wearing a business suit, and other pictures show him sitting in a make-up artist's chair having prosthetics applied to his face.
Each of the bandmates plays a different character in the video, with some of them completely unrecognisable in prosthetics, and the group will unveil more teasers showing the other singers' new looks in the days running up to the song's release in the U.K. on 22 July (13).
