David Beckham gave an 11-year-old cancer patient a boost by paying the youngster a surprise visit as part of Gwyneth Paltrow's charity initiative.
The retired sports star took a break from his busy schedule to hang out with Lloyd Burton, who was a budding soccer player before a brain tumour left him wheelchair bound. Beckham signed a soccer ball for his young fan and chatted with him about sport. Burton says of the visit:

Rapper Kanye West and his new wife Kim Kardashian fell foul of the fashion elite in Paris, France on Thursday (25Sep14) when they were booed for showing up late for a Lanvin presentation.
The celebrity couple reportedly turned up 40 minutes behind schedule, forcing event producers to hold up the Paris Fashion Week runway show until their arrival. Their tardy entrance prompted a pool of photographers to heckle West and Kardashian as they made their way to their front row seats, but the outspoken hip-hop star refused to let the jeers slide and instead confronted the snappers to defend the couple.
Walking up to the group, he said, "(Lanvin designer) Alber (Elbaz) asked to see us. Don't boo us. We're not late, we're not late!"
The incident occurred just hours after Kardashian was ambushed by notorious red carpet prankster Vitalii Sediuk, who threw himself at the reality star's feet and attempted to tackle her to the ground as she arrived to attend the Balmain showcase on Thursday morning.
Jessica Brown Findlay's ex-boyfriend has spoken out to condemn the hackers who stole saucy pictures of the actress and leaked them online.
The Downton Abbey star was among the female celebrities caught up in the Hollywood hacking scandal when Internet criminals broke into cloud storage devices and stole hundreds of personal files. Findlay was featured in a number of explicit pictures and a video, and her former partner Thomas Campbell, who dated the star for two years, admits he felt shocked and outraged by the leak.
He tells Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper, "It was a huge invasion of privacy, I feel really sorry for her. The video was nothing to do with me. I haven't even seen it. But I do hope that anybody who sees it understands that grown adults do stuff for them that they don't expect the world to see."
Campbell and Findlay dated after meeting at art school in London.

This morning it was announced that Kate Middleton and Prince William, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are expecting Royal Baby #2! We could not be any happier for them than we are right now. Prince George is our favorite member of the Royal Family, but we think being an only child can carries a particular burden. He needs a sibling! Someone for him to pass on his legacy on to. A brother or a sister (please be a sister, please) that he can teach all of his wisdom too.
Like, how to accept a gift like royalty:
Prince George has perfected the art of kindly telling people to back off:
He needs to show someone how to feign interest as well as him:
He's going to have to teach his baby sibling how to wave when they're a day old:
Who else is Prince George supposed to discuss his mother's magical hair with than his baby sib?
He must do his duty to his country and show his sibling how to be as enthusiastic as possible:
He needs help putting their daddy in his place:
Even their mom might need a talking to:
A little sibling can help him put the peasants down:
He's the king of playtime right now, but without a sibling, he has no one to steal toys from and get away with it:
Congratulations to the happy family! We're very excited to hear more news about Royal Baby #2 as this pregnancy progresses.

Actress Hayden Panettiere has confirmed she is pregnant by nominating her "unborn child" for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
The Nashville star finally acknowledged she and fiance Wladimir Klitschko are preparing for their first child on Wednesday (20Aug14) by posting footage of pal and co-star Derek Hough tipping a bucket of freezing water over her on Instagram.com.
Panettiere prepared for the cold blast by nominating country singer Kacey Musgraves, her fiance and her "unborn child" to take the challenge next. The actress follows in the footsteps of Guardians of the Galaxy star Zoe Saldana, who also confirmed she is pregnant in an Ice Bucket Challenge video posted on Tuesday (19Aug14).
She opted to dodge the challenge set her by director James Gunn, and her husband Marco Perego agreed to take the plunge in her place. Celebrities including Panettiere's Nashville co-star Connie Britton, Robert Pattinson, Emily Blunt and Adam Sandler all recently took the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise cash and awareness for charity the ALS Association.
Supermodel Kate Upton was reprimanded by her baseball star beau Justin Verlander for trying to cheer him up before a big game.
The 22-year-old Sports Illustrated model thought that she'd be a tonic for her glum boyfriend, who is the star pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, and so she started telling him jokes. She says, "He didn't tell me before, so he'd seem like he was in a bad mood before he pitched, so I'd be like, 'Joke, joke, joke, joke, joke,' trying to cheer him up. And then he got mad at me. He was like, 'Stop making me laugh! I'm trying to be angry'."
Upton admits the romance has led to problems at her beloved Yankees Stadium - and she has been told she cannot wear Tigers caps or gear there.
She explains, "I'm sleeping with the enemy... and the Yankees told me, 'You're not allowed to wear a Tigers hat. You're not allowed to wear any Tigers gear'. It's like a bad break-up."
Upton wore all white when she attended Verlander's Tigers game at Yankees Stadium last week (04Aug14).
Taylor Swift turned love guru by doling out advice to a fan who asked the singer for dating tips on Instagram.com.
A fan called Hannah left a comment under one of the Love Story hitmaker's pictures on the photosharing app earlier this week (22Jul14), writing to Swift about a boy she likes who has a girlfriend of his own.
She wrote, "There's a guy Taylor... who I have the biggest crush in the whole wide world on, and he'll never like me back... @taylorswift can you give me some advice maybe. I love you."
The music superstar, who has had her fair share of public relationships, surprisingly wrote back a sincere note back to Hannah with her advice on what to do in the situation.
Swift wrote, "About this guy. I think we grow up thinking the only love that counts as true love is the kind that lasts forever or is fully realized. When you have a broken heart, the first thing a stranger will ask is 'how long were you two together?' As if your pain can be determined by how long you were with someone. Or if you were with them at all."
"I don't think that's how it works. I think unrequited love is just as valid as any other kind. It's just as crushing and just as thrilling. No matter what happens in this situation, I want you to remember that what you are doing is selfless and beautiful and kind. You are loving someone purely because you love them, not because you think you'll ever have your affections reciprocated. You are admiring something for its beauty, without needing to own it."
"Feel good about being the kind of person who loves selflessly. I think someday you'll find someone who loves you in that exact same way."
A flabbergasted Hannah wrote back, "You have no idea how much this means to me, thank you. You understand and that means so much. I feel like you're the big sister I don't have. Thank you, I really did need to hear that from you."
