Taking inspiration from the recent Steve Carell and Keira Knightley film Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, movie-streaming service Blinkbox asked 2,000 members in the U.K. who they would most like to spend the apocalypse with.
Top female companions include blonde bombshell Scarlett Johansson, who is in second place, and Spanish siren Penelope Cruz, who comes third, one position ahead of Jessica Alba.
Superspy Daniel Craig is the second favourite male companion, Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt is third, and Drive star Ryan Gosling in fourth.
Mad Men star Christina Hendricks and Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson round off the top fives.
A Blinkbox spokesman says, "Let's face it, if the world's going to end, we'd all like to go out with a bang, and a clinch with our favourite Hollywood star would certainly help to take the edge off things."
The poll was released as Doomsday predictions the world would end on Friday (21Dec12) were proved untrue.
The actor, who plays Bilbo Baggins in the new Lord of the Rings prequel, has been with Abbington for more than 11 years and they have two kids together, but she insists a trip down the aisle isn't in their near future.

The 38-year-old, who met Freeman on the set of 2001 movie Men Only, is confident he would never cheat on her, although she admits she felt slightly insecure when he was cast in 2007's The Good Night with Hollywood beauties Penelope Cruz and Gwyneth Paltrow.
She recalls, "I did feel a bit funny then, because I was eight-and-a-half months pregnant and bigger than a house. Then I met Penelope and she rubbed my bump and said, 'Martin talks a lot about you.' She's beautiful and talented, so who wouldn't fancy her? Martin and I talk and joke about stuff like that.

Naming her our Outstanding Performer of the Year is an understatement."

He joked, "Javier Bardem Day. That's so cool. And what's that like? Does everyone have to walk with a broken nose around Hollywood Boulevard?"

She tells U.K. talk show host Graham Norton, "I happened to bump into Penelope Cruz, Javier, Tom and his son in a hotel and joined them for dinner. At midnight I said, 'I'm 40' so we took pictures and then said 'Goodnight, see you later, blah, blah, blah' and I haven't seen him since.
