An actor with oodles of sex appeal, Metcalfe dropped out of the acting program at NYU in order to take a role on the soap Passions. After dutifully removing his shirt for five years on daytime TV, he made it big in prime time as an often topless teen yardman involved in an adulterous affair on Desperate Housewives. Although the part landed him on numerous "hottest bachelor" lists, Metcalfe made a quick exit in the second season to pursue a film career in youth-oriented vehicles like John Tucker Must Die. A notorious party animal, he checked into rehab for alcohol abuse in March 2007.
