One Direction hunk Harry Styles has sparked speculation he is dating another older woman after stepping out with music producer David Foster's actress daughter, Erin. The boyband star, 20, and 32-year-old Foster visited a pumpkin patch in Los Angeles together on Wednesday (08Oct14) to pick out their Halloween props.
The rumoured new couple avoided showing any public displays of affection, but the stars appeared close as they perused the pumpkins on offer.
Styles and Foster have yet to comment on the romance reports.
The singer is no stranger to dating older women - he previously hit headlines in 2011 when the then-17 year old embarked on a relationship with British TV presenter Caroline Flack, who is 14 years his senior. They split in January, 2012 and Styles went on to date Taylor Swift.
Foster was last linked to Lindsay Lohan's ex Samantha Ronson, but they parted ways in 2012 after nine months together.
Actor Jake Gyllenhaal performed a poetry reading at a charity event in New York on Wednesday (01Oct14) to raise money for members of the U.S. military. The Donnie Darko star performed You Will Be Destroyed in Your Own Way, written by veteran Derrick Brown, at the Words of War benefit, which raised funds for military healthcare organisation The Headstrong Project.
Good Night, And Good Luck star David Strathairn, ER actor Anthony Edwards and Mystic Pizza's Lili Taylor performed a scene from the Japanese play Fujito which details the grief of war.
Gyllenhaal, who read at the inaugural gala last year (13), told the audience it was an "honour and a privilege" to attend the event, where guests also included Girls star Adam Driver and U.S. talk show host Seth Meyers.
The dinner raised $400,000 (£250,000) for the charity, which helps fund treatment for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans dealing with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has won a slew of solid reviews for her West End debut in Speed-The-Plow, with critics hailing her performance as "perfectly creditable" and insisting she has "real presence" on stage.
The Mean Girls star faced the notoriously tough theatre critics on the opening night of the show at London's Playhouse Theatre on Thursday night (02Oct14), and garnered a largely positive response. The Guardian's Michael Billington branded the production "tame" and "under-powered" but insisted Lohan was on top form, writing, "Lindsay Lohan gives a perfectly creditable performance in this revival of David Mamet's acerbic, anti-Hollywood satire. Whatever her colorful past, Lohan brings on stage a quality of breathless naivety that is far and away the most interesting thing in (the show)... She holds the stage with ease and doesn't let the side down."
Paul Taylor of The Independent was also impressed with Lohan's stage debut, writing, "Given the circumstances and the glare of publicity, it would have been understandable if she had succumbed to traumatic mutism at tonight's press performance, so it's good to report that she was completely on top of the script... Bravo to Lindsay Lohan for... turning in a deftly delineated characterization... She has real presence."
The Daily Express' Simon Edge adds, "She has a reputation as a director's nightmare who doesn't turn up to rehearsals back home, so much the better: who wouldn't pay to see a historic A-list car-crash?... I'm sorry to be the bearer of disappointing tidings, but pile-up it ain't."
Dominic Cavendish of the Daily Telegraph concludes, "Lindsay Lohan... made her stage debut with a surprising - and smouldering - degree of style. True, she fluffed a line and needed an off-stage prompt - but given the pressure to prove herself, that's just-about pardonable... She delivers enough of the goods... to hold her head up high."
Lohan ended the show by showering the audience with gold glitter and later attended a star-studded press night afterparty at London's National Liberal Club. Her mother Dina was in the crowd for the opening night show after flying in from New York for the occasion.
David Bowie once turned down the sexual advances of late Hollywood star Loretta Young after she underwent cosmetic surgery in a bid to impress the rocker. In her new book Bowie: The Biography, author Wendy Leigh claims Young, who was in her 60s at the time, encouraged pal Elizabeth Taylor to set up a meeting between her and Bowie.
But when Young finally met the rocker in the late 1970s she allegedly came on too strong.
In an extract from her book in Page Six, Leigh, who has also written biographies of Grace Kelly, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Patrick Swayze, reports Taylor as telling friends, "Loretta was very aggressive and said him (Bowie), 'I’ve gone to a lot of trouble to meet you tonight'."
Bowie reportedly shot back, "You shouldn’t have gone to the trouble my dear. I only like black women and Asian men.”
Dance music superstar David Guetta has scored his fifth number one single on the U.K. music charts with Lovers On The Sun. The song, which features singer Sam Martin, has debuted at the top of the countdown.
Reacting to the news, Guetta says, "Wow, this is amazing! The UK has shown me so much love and support over the years, since I was an unknown DJ there. To be number one with the first song off my next album is taking a little bit of the pressure off finishing it, which is what I'm doing now."
Last week's number one, Nico & Vinz's Am I Wrong, drops to two while Magic!'s Rude takes the third spot.
Rounding out the top fie are Taylor Swift's Shake It Off and Wankelmut & Emma Louise's My Head Is A Jungle.
Meanwhile, boy band Collabro have scored their first number one album with their debut Stars.
Ed Sheeran's X falls to number two after spending much of the summer on top, and the Courteeners' Concrete Love comes in at number three.
Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour and George Ezra's Wanted On Voyage complete the new top five.
Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen showered himself in dollar bills after swapping an ice bucket for a pail full of cash for a charity challenge.
The former Two and a Half Men star threw $10,000 (£5,882) in bills over his head for his part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, in which stars nominate each other for a cold shower to bring in money and raise awareness of Lou Gehrig's disease, also known as motor neurone disease.
A video posted online shows Sheen, who was nominated by hockey player Ryan Miller, tipping a silver bucket full of money over his head and exclaiming, "Oh wait, that's not ice. That's $10,000 in cash which I am donating to the ALS Foundation because let's face it, ice is gonna melt and this money is actually going to help people."
Sheen goes on to nominate his former Two and a Half Men co-star Jon Cryer, the show's creator Chuck Lorre, and replacement castmember Ashton Kutcher to follow suit, adding, "I am hereby calling out Jon Cryer, Chuck Lorre and Ashton Kutcher to identically do what I just did. C'mon guys, it's for a great cause."
Other stars to have taken part in the challenge include Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, as well as singer Josh Groban who was doused in icy water on U.S. TV during a taping of talent show Rising Star.
Liv Tyler has apparently confirmed her romance with David Beckham's close friend Dave Gardner after they were spotted holding hands on Friday (15Aug14). Reports suggesting the Armageddon star was dating the sports agent surfaced last month (Jul14) and now the couple has gone public with the romance.
They were pictured leaving London's Shoreditch House on Friday following a party held to celebrate the birthday of British DJ Nick Grimshaw. Model Daisy Lowe, actress Jaime Winstone and singer Florence Welch also attended the bash.
The couple, who were introduced by supermodel Kate Moss, have reportedly been dating in secret for months.
Tyler has a son with ex-husband Royston Langdon and Gardner was previously married to British actress Davinia Taylor.

At the heart of any dystopian story — be it about warring farm animals, omnipresent elder siblings, or colorless societies wherein pain and inequality have been all but eradicated — there is meant to be something human. Something that shines through to show us just how close we are to the world onscreen and just how far away from it we need to get. But at the heart of The Giver — Phillip Noyce’s film adaptation, not Lois Lowry’s ‘93 intro-to-Orwell novel — we find no humanity. There is nothing remotely vital about the film, its themes, its world, or its characters. Thus, who really gives a damn what kind of hell they’re all dealing with?
Brenton Thwaites is our hero — the exception among the heap of mindless drones (not to be confused with the movie’s surplus of literal drones) that occupy the nameless society, or so we’re meant to believe. In truth, Thwaites and his character Jonas are just as flat, vacant, and devoid of nuance as every other member of this pallid world. So when he is selected as the only villager capable of bearing the world’s memories of joy, pain, life, suffering, and — most prominently — ethnic dancing, we’re bored to tears by what might otherwise be an emotionally riveting journey into emotional maturity.

But Thwaites isn’t the only issue. Jeff Bridges manages some combination of tired Sam Elliott, tired Bane, and tired Scooby Doo in his performance as the titular Giver, the man whose relationships with the society, Chief Elder Meryl Streep, and Receivers past and present are never illustrated with enough clarity to understand him as a man or a metaphorical function. Just like Thwaites’ big moments suffer from a lack of substantial precedent, any message that Bridges’ character is meant to unfurl falls as flat as the inflection of a dystopian resident.
Broad strokes are one thing; The Giver seems to miss the canvas entirely in its portrait of the importance of pain and experience. Without a single human moment to convince us of the importance of humanity, we’re really left just staring at a confusing oscillation of the color wheel for 90 minutes.
