Stars including Scarlett Johansson, Harvey Weinstein and Nathan Lane turned out for an extravagant dinner thrown by lifestyle guru Martha Stewart in New York on Saturday night (19Jul14). The evening was the cookery expert's first big party at her East Hampton estate for more than 20 years, according to the New York Post's gossip column Page Six.
The elegant dinner marked the launch of a rare Dom Perignon Champagne, and the celebrity guests sipped the expensive drink while watching an art installation film before sitting down to a lavish dinner inside a marquee.
Johansson was joined by her French fiance Romain Dauriac, and Hollywood producer Weinstein brought along his fashion designer wife Georgina Chapman and their three-year-old daughter India.
Also attending the bash were radio shock jock Howard Stern, Broadway veteran Nathan Lane, Devious Maids star Susan Lucci and actor Christopher Meloni.
Harvey Weinstein has dismissed reports he deliberately snubbed the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Nicole Kidman's new Grace Kelly movie following a feud with the director, insisting he was busy visiting Syrian refugee camps.
The movie mogul has been embroiled in a public dispute with Grace of Monaco director Olivier Dahan over the film's content and proposed changes, and he was noticeably absent from the red carpet unveiling at the famous French event on Wednesday (14May14). However, Weinstein is adamant he did not intentionally avoid the premiere, insisting he was unable to attend as he had a prior engagement on a United Nations charity trip to Jordan to meet refugees from war-torn Syria.
Weinstein tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "My wife Georgina (Chapman) and I have been in Jordan visiting two Syrian refugee camps. This was a long-planned trip with (the United Nations)... to bring attention to the plight of refugees... forced to flee Syria."
Grace of Monaco was hit with scathing reviews from critics followings its premiere at Cannes, while Dahan told reporters at a press conference during the festival that his feud with Weinstein had been resolved: "If we're making changes, we'll do them together. There are no more polemics, It's all resolved, we're working together."
Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is planning on relaunching the Charles James fashion brand, according to a U.S. report. The movie producer wants to create an exclusive fashion house from the designs and archives of the late designer, who died in 1978.
James is being feted by an exhibition at New York's Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art this year (14), which kicked off on Monday (05May14), and Weinstein wants to revive James' work with the help of his designer wife Georgina Chapman and her brother Edward.
Sources tell New York Post gossip column Page Six, "Talks have been ongoing to breathe new life into the Charles James name. There is a lot of interest to carry on Charles' legacy."
The Weinstein Company is in negotiations with James' children, Charles, Jr. and Louise, who possess all their father's designs and archived works, about a licensing deal with an option to buy the company.
It will not be Weinstein's first fashion venture - he invested in the Halston label in 2007 with Sarah Jessica Parker and others, but he sold his share in 2011.
Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein wants to turn British model Cara Delevingne into a bona fide Hollywood star by hiring her for his next movie Tulip Fever. Weinstein met the model through his fashion designer wife, Georgina Chapman, and he wants to give the aspiring actress a boost by casting her in his new drama alongside Christoph Waltz and Alicia Vikander.
He says, "I know Cara through Georgina but we know her also for who she is and what she is. I've been talking to her about doing something in my next movie, Tulip Fever. We're shooting in May and I cannot imagine her being anything but fantastic in front of the camera. She's adorable."
Delevingne made her acting debut in 2012's Anna Karenina and she has two more films set for release this year (14), including The Face of an Angel, a drama inspired by the story of convicted murdered Amanda Knox.
Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has offered British pop star Harry Styles the chance to launch a film career on the condition the singer dates his daughters. The celebrated producer has revealed his girls are big fans of the One Direction star, and he is willing to help Styles fulfil any Hollywood aspirations he might be harbouring, if he agrees to meet his kids.
Weinstein tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Harry Styles will definitely be a movie star if he wants to... First he's got to date all three of my daughters. They all think he is extremely handsome. Once that's sorted, he can be in any film he wants."
The movie mogul has three daughters from his first marriage, as well as a four-year-old daughter with his current wife, fashion designer Georgina Chapman.

When will people learn you can’t take a model, a designer and a prize package and replicate the magic of Project Runway? Many have tried and few have succeed. The new series Styled to Rock, produced by Rihanna, gives the show a punky makeover. Project Runway: All Stars has some major upgrades from last season. But is there room for more than one Project Runway?
Styled to Rock is the umpteenth attempt at using the same format of Runway. Rather than focusing on the design, this series focuses on styling and costuming for musicians. Unfortunately, supermodel host Erin Wasson has the charm of a frozen waffle.
People take for granted that Heidi Klum was an actress and a television host before she produced Project Runway. Tim Gunn has become a celebrity due to his loving nature, distinct voice and stellar vocabulary. Their Emmy is proof that they are a major part of the show’s success. You can't just pull people off the shelf and expect the same magic to happen.
Project Runway: All Stars may have the exact same premise as the original but at least it innovates. It gives designers we have come to love a chance at redemption. Judges Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman also speak more authoritatively and diplomatically about fashion. Casting has improved this season with charmless model Angela Lindvall and severe mentor Joanna Coles replaced by opinionated Alyssa Milano and effervescent Zanna Roberts Rossi.
These are not the only attempts to clone Runway. Here are some others:
The Fashion Show
When Bravo lost Runway to Lifetime they tried to keep viewers with The Fashion Show. Mizrahi served as designer judge and Kelly Rowland served as host. The show received a slight upgrade in season two when supermodel Iman took over as host.
Launch My Line
Bravo tried again with this series. Dean and Dan Caten, of DSquared, hosted this series that featured “professionals” paired with designers. Seemingly random people in fields ranging from event planning to architecture had to create their own fashion line.
Not to be outdone by the shamelessness of Bravo, Lifetime tried to create a spin-off of Runway hosted by Molly Sims. Designer Kenneth Cole served as judge in this inversion of Runway. Designers create accessories ranging from jewelry to headpieces and style them with provided clothing.
This show tried to bring Runway to network television. Jessica Simpson, Nicole Ritchie and designer John Varvatos judged designers and offered them a chance to sell their line at Express and H&M. The show had too much product placement and was a little late to the game in Runway rehashing.
As you know in fashion, one day you're in. And the next day, you're out. Say "Auf wiedersehen!" to Heidi Klum because the supermodel-turned-America’s Got Talent judge has been replaced. Get ready Project Runway fans because you're about to be charmed by Alyssa Milano's hosting skills.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Milano has signed on as the newest host of Lifetime’s fashion forward competition Project Runway All Stars. The Who’s The Boss star will join returning judges Georgina Chapman and Isaac Mizrahi for the Season 3.
Previous judges of the all-star seasons include Angela Lindvall (season one) and Carolyn Murphy (season two). The cast of the newest all star season has not been announced just yet, but production is slated to begin in New York later this month. The uber-popular reality competition will debut on Lifetime this fall.
Milano’s newest TV series Mistresses premieres tonight at 10 PM on ABC.

Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein opened up his New York City home on Monday night (13May13) to host U.S. President Barack Obama for a special event. The producer and his wife Georgina Chapman threw a bash at their townhouse for the leader and select guests, including Justin Timberlake and his wife Jessica Biel.
Designer Tommy Hilfiger was also present at the event, where Obama spoke about recent tragedies in America as well as his second term in office.
He told the crowd, "You start thinking about the history... the three-and-a-half (years) I've got (left in office) is not a lot, so I've got to make sure that I use everything I've got to make as much of a difference as I can."
Anyone who knows anything about Steve Martin, knows that he is a funny guy. Whether you have seen him in Father of the Bride, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Jerk, or any of his other movies, or even just read his Twitter, you know that this guy is pretty humorous. He can even make the lamest of jokes entertaining.
Tuesday night, Martin stopped by The Late Show with David Letterman, but tried to pull a fast one on the late night host. "I was so excited to be on the show tonight, but it turns out, I am currently in Europe and unable to be here," Martin said before he got up and tried to run off the stage. Unfortunately security caught him and escorted him back to Letterman's hot seat.
