|On December 2, 2006, Garrison was involved in a car accident in Beverly Hills, California, that killed 17-year-old Beverly Hills High School student Vahagn Setian, a passenger in his car. Garrison received only minor injuries in the crash that also involved two fifteen-year-old girls who were injured when Garrison's SUV crashed into a tree.|
|On Jan. 31, 2007, police released blood test results revealing that Garrison had "more than twice the legal limit" of alcohol in his system and was under the influence of cocaine during the fatal crash that killed 17-year-old Vahagn Setian on Dec. 2, 2006.|
|On March 8, 2007, Garrison surrendered to Beverly Hills police. He was charged with felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony driving under the influence causing injury to multiple victims and felony driving with a blood-alcohol level above the .08 percent legal limit causing injury, and a misdemeanor count of furnishing alcohol to a minor.
On May 21, 2007 Garrison pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter, drunken driving, and providing alcohol to a minor. He underwent a mandatory 90-day "diagnostic" evaluation by parole officers and psychologists in a prison before returning for an appearance before a Superior Court Judge for sentencing.
On Oct. 31, 2007 Garrison was sentenced to three years and four months in prison, but was given credit for 91 days already served.
|Garrison was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence, following an April 21, 2012 incident involving his ex-girlfriend Ashley Mattingly. The actor was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence by the L.A. County District Attorney five days later.|
