Former Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts sustained a black eye and swollen lip when she knocked herself out with an exercise ball this week (begs25Aug14).
The singer was working out with a weighted fitness ball in a gym and she suffered a painful injury when it struck her in the face. Roberts tells U.K. TV show Good Morning Britain, "It was like one of those YouTube videos you watch of people knocking themselves out in the gym. That was me! I picked up a medicine ball... chucked it at this trampoline and it came back with a vengeance. It just knocked me out. Black eye, swollen nose, swollen lip..."
However, Roberts had no time to dwell on her injuries because she was due to perform a skit with British presenting duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly that evening as part of their touring comedy show.
She adds, "My manager's actually a boxer so he put a silver spoon in ice and rubbed it for about 3 hours before the show. I looked a little bit like I'd gotten some work done... Thank God for make-up and a good make-up artist. I wore my hair a bit in my face so nobody really knew... it was kind of rough to get through the next couple of shows but the show must go on."
The comedy tour concludes on 7 September (14) in Newcastle, England.
Former Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts will embark on a gruelling trek to reach the Machu Picchu historical site in Peru to raise money for charity. The singer will tackle high altitudes, intense heat by day and freezing temperatures at night during her 10-day hike through South America's Andes mountains range before arriving at the famous Inca landmark.
Roberts will undertake the challenge to raise money for U.K. breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel!
In a post on Twitter.com, she writes, "I'm excited & proud to be climbing Machu Pichu (sic) for the fab charity Coppafeel. Would love ur (sic) support! Anything counts!"
Her mission begins on 25 September (14).
Former Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts has axed two upcoming gigs in the U.K. The singer, who is promoting her upcoming debut solo album Butterfly Effect, had been due to perform on a string of dates of the touring Summer Live event, but she has since pulled out of dates in Manchester and Sheffield on 17 and 18 July (14), respectively.
She has not given a reason for the cancellations, but has assured fans she will still be playing in Liverpool on 20 July (14).
In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page on Monday (20Jun14), she writes, "Hi peeps, I'm devastated to say that due to unforeseen circumstances, I'm no longer going to be @ (the Manchester or Sheffield legs of) SummerLive. So sorry...
"I'm still going to be bringing the love to @EchoArena for... Summer Live in Liverpool though...sorry again".
Lawson guitarist Ryan Fletcher has dismissed rumours he is dating former Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts. Roberts was linked to Fletcher last week (ends15Jun14) after they were spotted together at Justin Timberlake's gig in London on what appeared to be a date.
However, the pop rocker is adamant the dating rumours are not true, insisting Roberts is just a good friend.
He tells the In:Demand radio show at Britain's Isle of Wight Festival, "No (we're not dating), we're just friends and we hang out a lot... A bit of confusion went down. No, we're just friends."

The pair was photographed attending Justin Timberlake's concert in London on Tuesday (10Jun14) and editors at the Daily Mail Online report they are seeing each other.
A source says, "There were really affectionate throughout the gig and flirting loads. He kept putting his arm round her and kissing her on the forehead."
Pop star Ashley Roberts has praised staff at British mental health charity Mind for supporting her over her brother's schizophrenia diagnosis. The former Pussycat Dolls singer revealed last year (13) that her younger brother Jayce lives in a care home after struggling with the condition since he was a teenager.
Following the revelation, Roberts received an outpouring of support and she has credited U.K. mental health charity Mind with helping to keep her balanced and deal with the issue.
She tells British magazine Hello!, "He has psychological problems and is living in a special facility, but the last time I saw him he was doing so well. I gave him a big hug and told him I love him. I've reached out to the mental health organisation Mind and it's made me feel that I'm not alone in having a family member going through a psychological problem."
Former Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts is expanding her business empire with the launch of her own perfume. The Dancing On Ice judge unveiled her Ashley by Ashley Roberts fragrance with a launch party at a central London bar on Wednesday morning (12Mar14).
The pop star, who has already masterminded her own line of dresses, later took to her Instagram.com account to share pictures of herself at the launch, writing, "At my perfume launch!!! So excited!! #grateful!!"
Former Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts broke down in tears during bridesmaid duties at her ex-bandmate Kimberly Wyatt's wedding over the weekend (22-23Feb14). The singer/dancer wed model Max Rogers in England on Saturday (22Feb14), and Roberts acted as her maid of honour.
However, the big day was emotional for Roberts, who started weeping as she followed her friend down the aisle.
She tells U.K. TV show Lorraine, "She was the first one (to marry) out of all of us and we were friends before we even got in the Dolls, and I got emotional. I was the maid of honour and I walked down that aisle and I just lost it. Max looked at me and was like, 'Don't do it!' It was a beautiful, beautiful day."
The pair joined the group in 2003 and performed together until 2010. They have since carved out TV careers in the U.K., with Wyatt acting as a judge on Got To Dance and Roberts sitting on the panel of Dancing on Ice.
Former Pussycat Dolls star Kimberly Wyatt is a married woman after exchanging vows with her model boyfriend on Saturday (22Feb14). The singer wed Max Rogers in a low-key ceremony, three years after they met on the runway at the annual Clothes Show Live event in England in late 2011.
Rogers confirmed the news on his wedding day, writing in a post on his Twitter.com page, "Just married... And it was mint (good)," while Wyatt later added, "I'm a married woman!!"
Wyatt's former bandmate Ashley Roberts was among the first to congratulate the newlyweds, adding, "Congrats (sic) to the newly married couple... Was truly a fairy tale day. Here's to happily ever after."
The couple announced the engagement in September, 2013.
