The Mentalist star Owain Yeoman is a married man after exchanging vows with Gigi Yallouz in a low-key ceremony last month (Sep13). The Welsh actor walked down the aisle with his fiancee at a private estate in Malibu, California on 7 September, according to U.S. reports.
Yeoman proposed to jewellery designer Yallouz in May last year (12).
Their wedding comes two years after Yeoman split from his first wife, The Office star Lucy Davis. They divorced in 2011 after five years of marriage.
British pop star Leona Lewis and actor Owain Yeoman have thrown their support behind a new global campaign calling for an end to animal testing for cosmetics. The animal lovers have cuddled up to cute rabbits, some of the most commonly used creatures in the make-up development industry, for the Be Cruelty-Free initiative, organised by officials from The Humane Society of the U.S. and Human Society International.
They are aiming to highlight the cause for International Rabbit Day on Saturday (28Sep13) in an effort to put a stop to the practice in America, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Korea, New Zealand and Russia.
The Mentalist star Yeoman says, "It's the saddest thing to know that rabbits can't cry, which is one of the reasons these gentle creatures are used in painful eye tests for cosmetics. When I think of their unnecessary suffering I could certainly shed a tear, so I'm backing the Be Cruelty-Free campaign to see an end to animal testing in North America and globally. Show the bunnies some love and let's end cosmetics cruelty."
Lewis, whose campaign photo features the singer hugging her own rescued bunny, Melrose, adds, "Ending animal testing for cosmetics is close to my heart, and so is my bunny Melrose. Melrose is so gentle and loving with such an amazing personality all her own, it breaks my heart to know there are thousands of rabbits who are just as special suffering a terrible fate to test cosmetics. I would never dream of causing Melrose pain, but in laboratories around the world, rabbits and other helpless animals still have chemicals dripped in their eyes or spread over their sensitive skin just to test new lip sticks or shampoo. I want their suffering to stop.
"I'm proud to be a bunny-hugger for Be Cruelty-Free on International Rabbit Day. Be a bunny-hugger too and let's end cosmetics cruelty!"
Animal testing for cosmetics is currently only banned in Europe, Israel and India.
Yeoman and Davis, who starred in the U.K. version of The Office, ended their five-year marriage in 2011, and the 34-year-old actor moved on to date Gigi Yallouz.
According to Celebuzz.com, the Welsh actor proposed to Yallouz, 27, in May (12) and they fuelled rumours their big day is imminent this weekend (06-07Oct12) after they were spotted visiting a wedding planner in Pasadena, California.
Yeoman's new love was also snapped wearing a diamond on her ring finger.
The stars announced their separation back in February (11) and Davis, who starred in the British version of The Office, has now filed divorce papers to make the split official.
The paperwork was filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court earlier this month (Oct11), with Davis citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, according to TMZ.com.
The former couple married in London in 2006.
The 61-year-old beauty has backed calls from Sir Roger Moore and The Mentalist star Owain Yeoman for chiefs at London's Fortnum & Mason to remove the controversial pate, made from the livers of ducks and geese, from the shop's shelves.
She has penned a letter to managing director Beverly Aspinall after watching shocking footage filmed by animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
Twiggy's note states, "I find it shocking that Fortnum & Mason would sell the horribly cruel product of goose torture known as foie gras. A product so barbaric that its production is banned in the U.K. and in more than a dozen other countries.
"Anyone who has watched PETA's undercover footage of geese and ducks as they are force-fed several times a day via a pipe until their livers swell to many times their normal size cannot fail to be appalled. Foie gras has no place on British store shelves or menus, let alone in a shop that so blatantly trades on its British heritage... Please, please, remove this cruel product from your shelves."
Officials at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) are spearheading calls for bosses at London's Fortnum & Mason to introduce a ban on the controversial pate.
Welsh star Yeoman, who plays Special Agent Wayne Rigsby in the hit U.S. drama series, led a protest outside the store on Wednesday (15Jun11), standing front of a mocked-up "crime scene" and holding a placard that read: "F&M: Investigate Compassion - Ban Foie Gras".
The actor says, "In the U.K., foie gras production is literally a criminal procedure - so why is a shop that prides itself on its British heritage still selling this cruel product? We're encouraging all compassionate people to shop elsewhere until Fortnum & Mason stops selling foie gras."
Other stars who have already signed up to the campaign include James Bond legend Sir Roger Moore and British actor Steven Berkoff.
Welsh hunk Yeoman wed Davis, best known for her role in the British version of The Office, in 2006 in a lavish ceremony at London's St. Paul's Cathedral.
However, the pair has decided to separate after four years of marriage.
In a joint statement, they say, "We have separated but are on good terms and would kindly ask for our privacy to be respected during this time."
According to Britain's Mail on Sunday, Davis hinted that the couple was trying to make its marriage work, telling reporters, "All I can say is that we are not over."
Davis is the daughter of British comedian Jasper Carrott.
British acting couple OWAIN YEOMAN and LUCY DAVIS will appear onscreen together for the first time when she appears as a murder victim's girlfriend in an upcoming episode of U.S. drama The Mentalist. Yeoman is a regular on the hit show.
