Was involved in a near fatal car crash in 1973 that left him in a coma for a week. After the accident, he vowed to use his talents to spotlight political and social issues.
At age 9 he was nicknamed Little Stevie Wonder because of his incredible musical skills.
After being born prematurely, he was placed in an incubator where he received too much oxygen, which caused his blindness.
