Title
Launched his film career as a trailer editor for Roger Corman's New World Pictures.
His first film — made with friend and producer Jon Davison — was the seven-hour The Movie Orgy (1968), a compilation of movie trailers, commercials and clips.
Won Saturn Awards for Best Editing in 1978 for the horror-comedy Piranha and Best Director for Gremlins in 1984. He also received directing nods for the 1987 sci-fi comedy Innerspace<
Wrote for the horror fanzine Castle of Frankenstein and later became the managing editor for the trade magazine Film Bulletin.
