Pregnant Keira Knightley is frustrated she will not be able to enjoy a boozy celebration at Sunday's (22Feb15) Academy Awards ceremony.
The British star is nominated for the best supporting actress prize for her part in World War II drama The Imitation Game, but her mother-to-be status means she will be teetotal at the glamorous event. Knightley reveals her husband, Klaxons rocker James Righton, will be making up for her sobriety by drinking for two.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show, she says, "I can't drink! I'm up for an Oscar and I can't drink at the Oscars! I went to the doctor, you have lots of doctors check-ups when you're pregnant, and she was like 'Any questions?' and I was like, 'Yes, when can I drink? Please! I just want a margarita!' My husband's having a great time, I'm eating for two and he's drinking for two. It's brilliant. There's a lot of free Champagne, so he thinks that because I'm not drinking the Champagne he has to (drink) all of it."
Pregnant actress Keira Knightley plans to go ahead with her Broadway debut just three months after she is due to give birth.
The Pride and Prejudice star is set to take the title role in a stage adaptation of Emile Zola's novel Therese Raquin, about an unhappily married woman who embarks on an affair.
Knightley is due to give birth to her first child with husband James Righton in the summer (15) but insists she will go ahead with the play, which opens at New York's Roundabout Theatre in October (15). She even hopes her post-birth hormones will help her onstage, telling Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "There's no change as far as I know. The performance might even be better because after the baby I'll probably be moody and cry a lot and some of that's perfect for the part isn't it?"
"I think we might do it in England, because he's English, and I've always wanted a destination wedding and I love London, so I'm leaning towards London." Fashion designer Nicky Hilton is planning to wed her fiance, banking heir James Rothschild, in his native U.K. next summer (15). The couple became engaged in August (14).
Filmmaker Ridley Scott will be the guest of honour at the 2015 Visual Effects Society (VES) Awards, where he will be presented with a lifetime achievement prize. The Alien director will be feted for his hugely successful career during a ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California on 4 February (15), when he will join the ranks of previous honourees George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron and comic book legend Stan Lee.
A statement released by VES board chair Jeff Okun reads: "Ridley Scott is a defining voice of the feature, broadcast and commercial forms. His vision and contribution to the art is incomparable and his impact upon the visual effects and technical form is unparalleled."
And a flattered Scott says, "The best filmmaking has always been the result of collaboration between artists, craftspeople and technicians, both in front and behind the camera. Over the years I have been very fortunate to work on films that are visual at their core and thus I have always been immensely reliant on the expertise of our visual effects teams."

"Congratulations @NickyHilton on your engagement! I'm so happy for you! You will be the most beautiful bride! Such a lovely couple! Love you both so much!" Socialite Paris Hilton congratulates sister Nicky on her engagement to banker James Rothschild.
Socialite Nicky Hilton is engaged to boyfriend James Rothschild. The hotel heiress' banker beau popped the question last weekend (ends10Aug14) in Italy, according to Us Weekly.
A source tells the magazine the couple was celebrating its anniversary in the same country where they first met, while attending supermodel Petra Ecclestone and James Stunt's 2011 wedding near Rome.
The insider reveals Rothschild, who flew from his home in England to the U.S. to ask Hilton's parents for her hand in marriage before the trip, proposed during a boat trip on Lake Como, where George Clooney owns a retreat.
The source says, "It was incredibly romantic and beautiful."
Hilton and Rothschild are reportedly celebrating their engagement with a road trip through Europe.
Fashion designer Hilton, the younger sister of Paris, previously dated DreamWorks studio boss David Katzenberg for four years, and was briefly married to childhood friend and businessman Todd Andrew Meister in 2004.
Italy has become 2014's romance destination for celebrities - Kim Kardashian and Kanye West wed in Florence earlier this summer, and George Clooney will wed his fiancee Amal Alamuddin in Italy next month (Sep14), according to reports.
Nobody could have predicted this amidst the Twilight hysteria that started in 2008, but Robert Pattinson is getting some serious indie cred under his belt. Having worked with directors like David Cronenberg, Francis Lewis, and James Gray over the past few years, it's safe to say that Pattinson has made serious strides since his role as Edward Cullen. Next up—a gangsta film with Harmony Korine? Yes, this is real.
Pattinson reached out to the Spring Breakers writer/director some time ago and has since confirmed that Korine wrote a Miami-set gangster movie for him. There are no other details at this time, but with these two names on board, there's already plenty reason to get excited about this project.

If you've seen a blockbuster action film in the last decade, chances are it was either produced or written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the pair behind franchises like Transformers, The Amazing Spider Man and the Star Trek reboot. The duo have been working side by side since the late nineties, but according to The Playlist, they're now looking to go solo and are pursuing independent film projects, although they will continue to run their television ventures together. Whenever a partnership comes to an end, people are inevitably forced to take sides, and that's exactly the task that the movie-going community is faced with right now. But how will the Internet possibly choose between two people they hold responsible for ruining franchises and inflicting mediocre action films on the world?
Allow us to settle that dispute for you by breaking down everything you need to know to pick a side in the great Orci Vs. Kurtzman conflict:
Roberto Orci Born in Mexico City Went to UT AustinMarried to Sleepy Hollow producer Melissa BlakeStepbrother-in-law is Superman Returns star Brandon RouthWriting a TV movie for Jon Favreau and a "Latino James Bond" series for Alfred Molina Looking to make his directorial debut with Star Trek 3, though Paramount seems hesitant to give him the jobScreenwriter for Star Trek 3 (Sorry, Trekkies)Attacked Star Trek fans who were upset with Star Trek: Into Darkness in a curse-filled rantHas yet to answer any of the questions that Cowboys & Aliens leaves hanging about its plot
Alex Kurtzman Born in Los AngelesWent to Wesleyan University Married to Samantha Counter, who, though probably very nice, hasn't produced anything as cool as Sleepy HollowHas a half-sister he didn't meet until age 30, which inspired him to write People Like UsMade his directorial debut with People Like Us Also directed an episode of Alias Has already been tapped to direct the Spider Man spin off Venom Will co-write Venom alongside Orci Still has not provided answers to the many questions Cowboys & Aliens raises about its plot
Now all you need to do is pick which one you feel is the lesser of two evils.
