Sarah Michelle Gellar's 2004 horror film The Grudge is getting a reboot. Midnight Meat Train screenwriter Jeff Buhler has been enlisted to pen the script. The Grudge, which was a remake of the Japanese film Ju-on: The Grudge, spawned two subsequent sequels in 2006 and 2009.
Tim Robbins' cult horror film Jacob's Ladder is set for a remake, 23 years after its release. The 1990 movie was directed by Adrian Lyne and starred Robbins as a Vietnam War veteran who suffered from bizarre hallucinations.
It grossed just $1 million (£645,160) more than its $25 million (£16.1 million) budget upon its U.S. release, but it gained cult status among film fans thanks to a clever twist ending.
Producers are now looking to revamp the thriller for modern audiences and have hired The Midnight Meat Train scriptwriter Jeff Buhler to adapt the story, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
