R&B star Chris Brown called on his celebrity friends to take part in a friendly kickball match to support his charity on Saturday (19Jul14). The Kiss Kiss hitmaker gathered his pals at the Glendale Sports Complex in California to raise funds for his Symphonic Love Foundation, which supports arts programs for youngsters.
Brown served as the captain of an all-star team which included Jamie Foxx, Paris Hilton, Christina Milian, Omarion, Kendall and Kylie Jenner and DJ Khaled, and they went up against a team led by Sean 'Diddy' Combs' stepson Quincy, who saw over a crew including The Game, Ne-Yo, Keke Palmer and Amber Rose.
Brown, who was released from jail last month (Jun14) following a three-month stint behind bars, led his team to victory and even treated the fans in attendance to a performance of his new single, Loyal.
Celebrities including Eva Longoria, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Christina Milian celebrated America's Independence Day on Friday (04Jul14) by posting snaps online of their beach and pool parties. Former Desperate Housewives star Longoria uploaded an image to Twitter.com while sunning herself on the sand, and Gellar shared a snap of herself playing in the ocean with her daughter, adding, "Hope everyone's holiday is as relaxing and as full of love as mine."
Singer Milian, who split from fiance Jas Prince in June (14), posted a picture of herself in a revealing cut-out bikini and wrote, "Have a great weekend! 4th of July was by far the best I've had in years."
Also attending socialite Paris Hilton's beach party in Malibu, California was actor Ryan Phillippe and Wiz Khalifa's wife Amber Rose.
Justin Bieber and Ashley Tisdale both relaxed on luxury yachts, while Taylor Swift had a pool party. She posted a video of her and TV star Jaime King diving into the water on inflatable animals. They later baked a cake and decorated it with the American flag.
Fireworks were a hot talking point on Twitter.com. TV stars including Lena Dunham and Pretty Little Liars actress Lucy Hale uploaded pictures of themselves playing with sparklers, while Chloe Grace Moretz shared a video on Instagram.com of her setting off a rocket on the corner of a street.
However, Rebel Wilson suffered a minor injury during her celebrations, writing, "Only burnt 1 t*t with our illegal fireworks display."
R&B bad boy Chris Brown's prison-release party was a lame, "boring" affair, according to porn star guest Bonnie Rotten. The singer's girlfriend Karrueche Tran was reportedly behind the get-out-of-jail bash in Las Vegas in early June (14), and Rotten, who appeared in one of Brown's videos, was asked to show up with a group of friends.
She obliged, expecting the night out to be a wild one, but left when it became clear that Brown and celebrity friends like T-Pain and Amber Rose just wanted to hang out.
The porn star, who is currently shooting an X-rated Boogie Nights spin-off in Germany, tells WENN, "There's a friend of his (Brown) that I'm friends with. He's like a celebrity babysitter. So he was like, 'Come to this party and bring some of your girls...' So I got some girlfriends and it totally got out of proportion. It was not like it seemed. Actually it was a very boring party.
"There was no weed, there was no party. We were just chilling. It was at a huge mansion in Vegas, and in every room everybody was just sitting there and sipping on their drinks. So me and my girls tried to get the party started by doing lots of shots. I was like, 'Let's get wasted'."
Tattooed Rotten insists Brown's bad boy reputation is not deserved. She adds, "He's not super gangster."
In chatting about the Kiss Kiss singer's freedom bash, Rotten accepts she might find herself in trouble - because all guests were asked not to reveal any details: "No one was allowed to tweet about it, no one was allowed to talk about it. It was just super-undercover."
The porn star's comments come hours after Brown was caught on camera stumbling out of a Los Angeles nightclub following his musical comeback at the BET Awards on Sunday night (29Jun14).
After the ceremony, Brown headed to the city's Playhouse nightclub to continue the party and he was caught on tape leaving the venue supported by two friends, who helped carry the star to a car driven by his girlfriend Tran.
Brown served two months in jail after he admitted breaking the terms of his probation relating to his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna.
"Soooooo me and @courtneylove made out tonight. Epic!" Wiz Khalifa's model wife Amber Rose puckered up for a kiss with rocker Courtney Love while partying at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on Sunday night (29Jun14). She also shared a snap of the pair posing with socialite Paris Hilton.
Courtney Love making out with someone at an awards show may not raise many eyebrows. But Courtney Love making out with new mom and wife Amber Rose at the BET Awards? Well, that's something special:
Soooooo me and @courtneylove made out tonight. Epic!
And here's a great "before" photo they got with Paris Hilton:
Amber Rose may have had to explain this to hubby Wiz Khalifa, but something tells us he probably sees the humor in it all. Congratulations Amber! This is a milestone... of sorts.

Rapper Wiz Khalifa has scrapped plans to include a new song he recorded with Adele on his next album. The odd couple became pals after meeting at the Grammy Awards last year (13), and they hit the studio to work on new material - but now it appears fans will have to wait to hear the project, because Wiz isn't planning on using the music he made with the Brit on his upcoming album Blacc Hollywood.
He tells Rap-Up.com, "That didn't make the album. It was, like, an idea... Maybe we'll get to do a remix or something."
The rap star previously revealed Adele is a huge fan of his wife Amber Rose - and they met while the Rolling in the Deep singer was gushing about the model on the red carpet.
He said, "She ran up on Amber, and she was like, 'Amber! Amber!' and told her how beautiful she looked.
"Her people contacted some of my people when they found out we were working on the album and sent some ideas through, so we were able to knock some things out."
Hollywood heartthrob Johnny Depp is adamant there is no "weirdness" or "hostility" between himself and his former partner Vanessa Paradis following his engagement news. The actor spent 14 years with the French singer/actress and fathered two kids with his 41-year-old girlfriend before they split in 2012.
Depp has since announced his engagement to 27-year-old actress Amber Heard, his co-star in 2011 movie The Rum Diary, but the Edward Scissorhands star is adamant his new-found happiness has not caused problems with Paradis.
He says, "Vanessa and I get along wonderfully. There's no weirdness at all, no hostility. Life happens and we spent 14 great years together and raised a couple of kids who we are both incredibly proud of. We see each other all the time and giggle and hang out, just like we always did. She's a wonderful woman. I love her and she loves me and she's a great mommy. I have nothing bad to say, ever."
The actor goes on to insist his fiancee has grown close to his two kids, Lily-Rose, 14, and Jack, 12, adding, "(They are)... super close... They're like pals and it's great."
For the bulk of every Rocky and Bullwinkle episode, moose and squirrel would engage in high concept escapades that satirized geopolitics, contemporary cinema, and the very fabrics of the human condition. With all of that to work with, there's no excuse for why the pair and their Soviet nemeses haven't gotten a decent movie adaptation. But the ingenious Mr. Peabody and his faithful boy Sherman are another story, intercut between Rocky and Bullwinkle segments to teach kids brief history lessons and toss in a nearly lethal dose of puns. Their stories and relationship were much simpler, which means that bringing their shtick to the big screen would entail a lot more invention — always risky when you're dealing with precious material.
For the most part, Mr. Peabody & Sherman handles the regeneration of its heroes aptly, allowing for emotionally substance in their unique father-son relationship and all the difficulties inherent therein. The story is no subtle metaphor for the difficulties surrounding gay adoption, with society decreeing that a dog, no matter how hyper-intelligent, cannot be a suitable father. The central plot has Peabody hosting a party for a disapproving child services agent and the parents of a young girl with whom 7-year-old Sherman had a schoolyard spat, all in order to prove himself a suitable dad. Of course, the WABAC comes into play when the tots take it for a spin, forcing Peabody to rush to their rescue.
Getting down to personals, we also see the left brain-heavy Peabody struggle with being father Sherman deserves. The bulk of the emotional marks are hit as we learn just how much Peabody cares for Sherman, and just how hard it has been to accept that his only family is growing up and changing.
But more successful than the new is the film's handling of the old — the material that Peabody and Sherman purists will adore. They travel back in time via the WABAC Machine to Ancient Egypt, the Renaissance, and the Trojan War, and 18th Century France, explaining the cultural backdrop and historical significance of the settings and characters they happen upon, all with that irreverent (but no longer racist) flare that the old cartoons enjoyed. And oh... the puns.
Mr. Peabody & Sherman is a f**king treasure trove of some of the most amazingly bad puns in recent cinema. This effort alone will leave you in awe.
The film does unravel in its final act, bringing the science-fiction of time travel a little too close to the forefront and dropping the ball on a good deal of its emotional groundwork. What seemed to be substantial building blocks do not pay off in the way we might, as scholars of animated family cinema, have anticipated, leaving the movie with an unfinished feeling.
But all in all, it's a bright, compassionate, reasonably educational, and occasionally funny if not altogether worthy tribute to an old favorite. And since we don't have our own WABAC machine to return to a time of regularly scheduled Peabody and Sherman cartoons, this will do okay for now.
If nothing else, it's worth your time for the puns.

Wiz Khalifa's wife Amber Rose has denied taking aim at her ex-boyfriend Kanye West after appearing to criticise his remix of Beyonce's track Drunk In Love in a post on Twitter.com. The model took to her social media blog on Saturday (15Feb14), the same day the new version of Drunk In Love hit the Internet, to write, "F**k my fav (favourite) song is ruined. Smh (Shaking my head). Terrific."
Fans and followers immediately assumed Rose was referring to West's verse on the Beyonce release, which originally featured Jay Z, but she later clarified her comments and blamed gossip-hungry bloggers for misinterpreting her words to create drama.
Returning to her Twitter page after a plane flight, she writes, "Just landed was talking about by hubby's song that he gave to someone else & I picked the one day 'he' (West) comes out with a song Just my luck (sic). I f**king hate twitter.
"All good tho (sic) ppl (people) who really know me know that's not my style".
Rose split from West in 2010 after a two-year courtship and went on to date Khalifa in 2011. They wed last year (13) after becoming parents to son Sebastian.
An eye-catching beauty, Amber Rose became an instantly recognizable figure on the periphery of the R&B, hip-hop and rap worlds and whose fame seemed to stem from the fact that she was, well, famous. Born Oct. 21, 1983 in Philadelphia, PA, Amber Rose was blessed with an exotic, striking appearance she used to optimal effect, with her shaved head and skintight clothing helping her gain media attention wherever she went. A proud former stripper, model and occasional actress who made her screen debut in a 2007 episode of "A Haunting" (Discovery Channel, 2005-07), Rose was better known for her red carpet, gossip blog, and reality appearances. She was best known, however, for her high-profile romance with Kanye West, who allegedly cheated on then left her for Kim Kardashian. Rose went on to date Wiz Khalifa, with the two becoming engaged and announcing their pregnancy in 2012. The face of Smirnoff who lensed a few commercials for the company's flavored vodkas, the surprisingly sweet and shy Rose also popped up as a guest judge on "RuPaul's Drag Race" (Logo, 2009- ) and a full-time judge on "Master of the Mix" (BET, 2010- ). A frequent cameo figure in other performers' music videos, Rose attempted to launch her own music career in 2012 by releasing the singles "Fame" and "Loaded."<p><i>By Jonathan Riggs</i>
