  • 'DWTS' Week 9: Louis van Amstel Thinks 'It Will Be a Shocker' If Ingo Survives
By: Sydney Bucksbaum May 14, 2013 5:00pm EST
Tonight is the last elimination before Dancing With the Stars Season 16’s finals, and pro dancer Louis van Amstel has a good idea of who the final four couples will be: Zendaya, Kellie Pickler, Jacoby Jones, and Aly Raisman. After last week’s elimination of Sean Lowe, van Amstel believes Ingo Rademacher’s time is up. "I thought it was either going to be Ingo or Sean eliminated last week, and it was very clear that the judges wanted Sean to go home so he got unfairly scored," van Amstel tells Hollywood.com. "It was obvious that the judges wanted everyone else to stay. Ingo did an okay job and the right one got the boot first." But now that Lowe is gone, and after last night’s round of dancing, van Amstel is confident Ingo will be eliminated on Tuesday’s results show. "It’s going to be hard for Ingo because it’s already absolutely clear that Zendaya and Kellie are in the finals, and there are only two spots left," van Amstel says. “Jacoby, the entire season, has been so committed and Aly has been gaining momentum later in the season and she’s got a huge fan base. But who knows, because Ingo has a big fan base too so there could be a shocker if he stays for the finals." Tune in to Dancing With the Stars on Mondays at 8 PM ET/PT, and Tuesdays at 9 PM ET/PT on ABC. • 'The Butler' Serves Up a New Side to the White House With Oprah, Forest Whitaker and More
By: Sydney Bucksbaum May 07, 2013 8:59pm EST
Movies that take place in the White House are usually focused on the President of the United States, but Lee Daniels' drama The Butler serves up a new perspective on the old location. Starring Forest Whitaker, Jane Fonda, and Oprah Winfrey (among a long list of Hollywood power players that make up the rest of the cast), the movie tells the story of Eugene Allen, the longtime White House employee who served under eight American presidents. Allen was the White House's head butler from 1952 to 1986, and had a unique front-row seat as political and racial history was made. The Butler also stars Alex Pettyfer, John Cusack as Richard Nixon, Robin Williams as Dwight Eisenhower, James Marsden as John F. Kennedy, Melissa Leo, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan, Liev Schreiber as Lyndon B. Johnson, Terrance Howard, Minka Kelly as Jackie Kennedy, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Vanessa Redgrave. Get ready to relive the hilarity, awkwardness, and heartwarming stories from the past almost-decade! The special episode will offer a look back at the past nine seasons, including actor auditions back when the show was first being cast, favorite moments, a behind-the-scenes sneak peak of the finale, as well as an emotional farewell to the characters of The Office. The retrospective will feature interviews with writers, producers, and actors, including executive producers Greg Daniels, Paul Lieberstein and Ben Silverman, and actors John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, Mindy Kaling, Ed Helms, Angela Kinsey, Craig Robinson, Oscar Nunez and B.J. Novak.  The hour-long series finale will air immediately following the retrospective, and boasts an impressive lineup of guest stars including Kaling, Novak, Rachael Harris, Dakota Johnson, Joan Cusack, Ed Begley Jr., Malcolm Barrett, Matt Jones, Andy Buckley, Mike Schur, and Bobby Ray Shafer. • New 'Pain and Gain' Red Band Trailer Offers Up Bulging Biceps, Babes in Bikinis, and Shriveled Ball Jokes
By: Sydney Bucksbaum March 26, 2013 10:02pm EST
Don't piss off bodybuilders with nothing left to lose. Michael Bay's newest movie, Pain and Gain, stars Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie, and is — shockingly — based on an unbelievably true story. The film follows a group of personal trainers (Wahlberg, Johnson, and Mackie) who team up in early '90s Miami in pursuit of the American Dream, but end up getting caught up in a criminal enterprise that goes horribly wrong. Mix in bulging biceps, babes in bikinis, and shriveled ball jokes (plus the requisite car chases, gun fights, and explosions worthy of a Bay film), and you've got yourself one new red-band trailer for the muscle-obsessed movie. RELATED: Mark Wahlberg and The Rock Get Jacked in 'Pain and Gain' The $25 million true crime comedy also stars Rebel Wilson, Ken Jeong, Tony Shalhoub, Ed Harris, and Rob Corddry. Check out the for-grown-up-eyes-only trailer below: Pain and Gain hits theaters April 26, 2013. • TV Tidbits: Nick Kroll on 'New Girl,' a 'Buckwild' Arrest and More
By: Sydney Bucksbaum February 11, 2013 10:40pm EST
New Family Members: Get ready to meet the whole Miller clan on New Girl. Not only will we meet Nick’s mom, Bonnie (Margo Martindale), in an upcoming episode, more of Nick’s relatives will pop up too. The League and Kroll Show’s Nick Kroll will guest star as Nick’s dim yet passionate younger brother, an air conditioner repairman named Jamie. Stand-up comedian Bill Burr will play Bobby, Nick’s loudmouth cousin and a TSA agent at Boston’s Logan Airport who is always fighting with Jamie. The Miller-centric episode airs next month, and finds Nick (Jake Johnson) and his roommates traveling to his hometown of Chicago. His friends soon learn that Nick is somehow the most mature member of his family. [EW] Star Goes Buckwild: MTV's newest reality show, Buckwild, features twentysomethings in rural West Virginia partying and doing reckless things. For star Salwa Amin, the self-proclaimed "Bengali in Boots," life may have just gotten a little too wild. The 24-year-old was arrested on Sunday in a drug raid outside of Charleston, West Virginia. Amin was taken into custody with two other men after an informant tipped off the drug task force that a shipment of narcotics would be delivered to a home. Officers found Amin and two other individuals hiding in a shed outside, and a search subsequently turned up a large quantity of Oxycodone in Amin's purse along with three bags of heroin in the shed. All three were arrested and arraigned on a charge of possession with intent to deliver. They remain in the county jail with bail set at $200,000. No word on how this will affect Amin’s slot in the just-announced second season of Buckwild. • Megan Fox Quits Twitter After 6 Days: Who Else Quit (and Who Came Running Right Back)?
By: Sydney Bucksbaum January 11, 2013 12:15pm EST
Does Megan Fox own the title for the shortest Twitter lifespan? She joined the social media site on Jan. 3, tweeting, "I'm incredibly late to the party but I'm here nonetheless, so what now?" Apparently she never got a suitable answer to her question, because after a mere 13 tweets, @MeganFox is closing up shop. Fox posted on Facebook (because when quitting one social media site, you use another!), "Some of you may, or may not have noticed by now that my Twitter account has been shut down... I thought that 2013 might be the year that I finally blossomed into a social networking butterfly... but as it turns out I still hate it. Love you guys but I will just never be that girl. Facebook is as much as I can handle. #I'm Sorry." Guess she never quite understood how to hashtag correctly, either? Fox's Twitter breakup isn't that surprising. It seems like she never quite got into a tweeting groove. Her last tweet on Jan. 9 foreshadowed her shutdown of her account. "5 days on Twitter and I have yet to discern it's purpose. #WhatIsThePoint ???" she wrote. Even with 260K followers, she couldn't make it work. From her first tweet to her last tweet, Fox was only on Twitter for a mere six days. While she may hold the title for the shortest Twitter lifespan, she's not the only celebrity to shut down her account (but she might be the only one who stays off for good!). - John Mayer famously shut down his Twitter after getting a lot of heat for speaking publicly about his exes, though he claimed his purpose was more of the professional variety, saying he shut it down to "return to the studio." - Mulit-hyphenate Renaissance man James Franco spent a few weeks tweeting before hosting the Oscars, but a Twitter feud with Bruce Vilanch prompted him to quit. - Miley Cyrus deleted her Twitter, offering up this video as an explanation to her fans. Because, you know, that's the same.  - While Twitter mainstay Ashton Kutcher didn't exactly quit Twitter, it could be seen that way. He relinquished control of his account to his management team after a controversy involving an ill-timed tweet or two (first proclaiming the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11 to be "the greatest day of the year" because of the return of Sunday Night Football, and then condemning the firing of Joe Paterno before knowing the reasons behind it). - Little Britain star Matt Lucas quit Twitter after a teenager tweeted a joke about the death of his former partner Kevin McGee, who hanged himself in 2009. - Chris Brown, after getting into a Twitter feud with comedian Jenny Johnson, deleted his account, but couldn't stay away: he rejoined the next morning. - But Amanda Bynes is perhaps the most fickle — and most random — tweeter ever. She has threatened to quit both Twitter and acting multiple times. Her Twitter breakup did not stick, but her return to acting still remains to be seen... • Which Superhero Movie Star Might Star In 'Godzilla'?
By: Sydney Bucksbaum January 10, 2013 1:23pm EST
He may not be your typical superhero, but it looks like he might be saving the world from a giant reptile. Aaron Johnson might be starring in Godzilla, the Gareth Edwards-directed, Frank Darabont-re-written reboot, Deadline reports. However, Johnson won't make a final decision until he sees the final script. Hollywood.com has reached out to Johnson's reps for comment, but confirmation was not immediately available. The reboot is scheduled to begin production in March, and has a tentative release date of May 16, 2014. The reboot is already going through a major overhaul: Legendary Pictures is replacing producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee (both of Warner Bros.), but as of yet the release date hasn't been altered. Johnson is best known for playing the unlikely titular superhero in Kick-Ass (and the upcoming sequel Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall), but was most recently in Anna Karenina and Savages. • 'Girls,' 'Breaking Bad' Top Writers Guild of America 2013 TV Nominees
By: Alicia Lutes December 06, 2012 11:16am EST
The 2013 nominees for the Writers Guild of America awards have been announced. Writers, you say? Yes, writers! The people that make words dance on pages to create the worlds in which our favorite shows flourish. Some people, when confronted with a brilliant episode of television automatically assume the credit for its general goodness should go to the actors. But what about the writers? They are often just as (if not more so) likely to be the reason you laughed, cried, gasped, guffawed, or squirmed in your seat during last week's episode of your favorite show. These makers of televised scripts carry a good chunk of a show's success (and failure) on their shoulders, and leading the pack of successful witty wordsmiths? Lena Dunham and her HBO darling Girls. Overall, it seems as though cable dramas fared better than broadcast (which, duh), but on the flip-side, broadcast comedies outdid their cable brethren. Breaking Bad cleaned up in the episodic drama category, and comedy lady hero Amy Poehler got herself a nod for the episode of Parks and Recreation she penned, "The Debate." • Could Jessica Simpson Really Be Pregnant AGAIN?
By: Sydney Bucksbaum November 28, 2012 7:11am EST
After making history for having the longest pregnancy ever (well, at least that's how it  felt), Jessica Simpson may have another bun in the oven. If Us Weekly is to be believed, just seven short months after giving birth to her daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson, Simpson is pregnant again. Us cites a mysterious source as saying, "It definitely wasn't planned. But yes, Jessica is pregnant again." This surprise baby (oops) would be the second for the singer, 32, and her former NFL pro fiancé Eric Johnson. Simpson and Johnson, 33, have been engaged for the past two years, and welcomed their 9 lb. 13 oz. daughter on May 1 of this year. In Hollywood.com's search for the truth, a rep for Simpson told us, "I wont be commenting on speculation made by Us Weekly." Fair. The recent spokeswoman for Weight Watchers has worked hard to slim down after giving birth, dropping a whopping 70 lbs. since the birth of her daughter, but we can't help but wonder how news of her second pregnancy will affect her deal with the weight loss company. Can some one work on their post-baby body before said baby is even born?  Follow Sydney on Twitter @SydneyBucksbaum [Photo Credit: Startraks] More: Does Dolly Parton Have an Oprah/Gayle Problem? — VIDEO Brad Pitt Hasn't Seen Any Parodies of His Chanel Ad... • TV Tidbits: 'Arrow' Casts Its Biggest Villian, AMC Amps Up The Drama
By: Leanne Aguilera November 27, 2012 3:49pm EST
The powers that be on Arrow have snagged Once Upon a Time’s Dr. Frankenstein — aka David Anders — to play a truly monstrous villain on the freshman CW hit. The Alias alum will cause trouble in Starling City (beginning with episode 13) as Cyrus Vanch, a ruthless criminal who is released from prison but clearly has not learned his lesson. Vanch will be the biggest bad our hooded hero has ever faced. Dun dun duuun! [Zap2it] AMC Gets Dramatic: AMC has ordered two new drama pilots from the producers of two successful shows. First up is Halt & Catch Fire from Breaking Bad EP Mark Johnson, which centers on "The personal computing boom in the 1980s." But instead of being set in the all-too-familiar Silicon Valley, the setting is Texas’ "Silicon Prairie," located just north of Dallas. Next is Turn, from Nikita creator/executive producer Craig Silverstein and Barry Josephson. Turn is a revolutionary war drama set in 1778, that tells the story of a New York farmer who rallies his childhood friends into a unlikely group of spies in the fight for America’s independence. [EW] More Roughness to Come: USA Network is ready to tackle a third season of Necessary Roughness — the drama, which stars Callie Thorne as New York sports psychologist Dr. Dani Santino, is just about to be picked up for a third season. The new order will likely be for just ten episodes, however — a shorter stint than either of the drama's previous two seasons. [Deadline] Comedy Central Orders More Laughs: Looks like there's something in the water — Key & Peele has also been renewed for a third season. The 13-episode third cycle of the show — starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele — will premiere next fall. The sketch comedy series was an insta-hit in its January debut, winning audiences over with its unique sketches (including President Obama's "anger translator"). "Since Obama won re-election, it only seems fair that we would give Key & Peele another season," said Comedy Central’s head of original programming, Kent Alterman.
