Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have stunned Hollywood by announcing they tied the knot in a secret ceremony on Saturday (23Aug14).
The Tomb Raider star wed the Hollywood actor at a small chapel at Chateau Miraval in Correns, France, a spokesman for the couple confirms.
The private, nondenominational civil ceremony was attended by family and friends of the superstar couple, and was conducted by a Californian judge, who gave Jolie and Pitt their marriage licence in the U.S.
The couple's six children were all involved in the wedding - Maddox and Pax walked Jolie down the aisle, Shiloh and Knox were ring bearers, while Zahara and Vivienne threw flower petals. Shiloh, eight, and twins Knox and Vivienne, six, are the couple's biological children while Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, and Zahara, nine, are adopted.
Jolie and Pitt began dating in 2005 after meeting on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and they have been dogged by marriage speculation for years. They got engaged in 2012. It is Pitt's second marriage following his divorce from actress Jennifer Aniston in 2005. Jolie was previously wed to actors Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.

George Clooney has been named Hollywood's most-gracefully ageing male for refusing to dye his greying hair.
The Ocean's Eleven star, 53, topped a list of Tinseltown's leading 'MAGs' - Men Ageing Gracefully - in a survey by a leading U.K. hair transplant centre. His close pal Brad Pitt, 50, came second in the list of male stars who have stayed sexy with age, and Johnny Depp, 51, was placed third.
The top five was rounded out by James Bond hunk Daniel Craig, 46, and Australian star Hugh Jackman, 45.
The survey of 1,000 movie fans was conducted on behalf of the Crown Clinic in Manchester, England and featured dozens of male stars over 40 who have embraced ageing.
Crown Clinic surgeon Asim Shahmalak says, "Clooney is a worthy winner. He has been a global sex symbol for 20 years and he has just as many female fans now as when he first emerged on (TV series) ER. He has happily embraced middle age and looks just as sexy as a brooding silver fox as he did as a hunky young doctor in his breakthrough role. "What is striking about the survey is that every single 'MAG' has a full head of hair. It's a sad fact but nothing ages a man like losing his hair. (This) survey shows that baldness can age a man by as much as 10 years."
The rest of the top ten featured Matt Damon, Matthew McConaughey, Will Smith, Sean Penn, and Colin Firth.

Engaged Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will reportedly marry onscreen in their new movie.
The stars, who fell in love on the set of 2005 spy film Mr. & Mrs. Smith and went on to become a real life couple, plan to reunite on-set in Jolie's latest directing project, By The Sea.
Editors of The Hollywood Reporter now state the couple will exchange vows on camera as part of the story, which was written by Jolie herself.
The couple's real life engagement was announced in 2012, and they are regularly hit with rumours about when the wedding will take place.
The film which will reteam Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt on the big screen will be called By The Sea. Jolie will direct the drama for Universal Pictures, and the real life couple will produce the movie.
The pair last appeared onscreen together in 2005's Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
It is believed the new film will be shot on location on the Maltese islands of Malta and Gozo.
The actress/director confirmed the news on Friday (18Jul14), stating, "I am very happy to continue my relationship with the entire Universal team as I finish (current film project) Unbroken and begin work on By the Sea. They have created a very special place for storytellers, and I look forward to the continued passion and support they have provided to me as a filmmaker."
Jolie's Unbroken, which chronicles the life of Olympian and World War Two hero Louis Zamperini, will be released in December (14).
Malta's Prime Minister Joseph Muscat is celebrating after learning Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt plan to make their new movie on his islands. Brangelina recently visited Malta and Gozo and it appears they liked what they saw - Muscat has confirmed the real-life couple's new project will be filmed there.
In a statement obtained by Us Weekly magazine, he writes, "I'm happy that Hollywood producers have once again chosen Malta for their project, and we will be delighted to host Mr. Pitt, Ms. Jolie, and their family for the second time in just a few years.
"I'm sure that this film will help put our beautiful sister island of Gozo on the world map."
Pitt filmed scenes for zombie apocalypse movie Wold War Z in Malta, and Jolie and the couple's kids joined the actor for the Mediterranean shoot.
Reports suggest the new film, a love story written by Jolie, will be filmed in Gozo harbour village Mgarr throughout August (14).
The project will be the couple's first film together since they met and fell in love while making Mr & Mrs Smith in 2007.
Brad Pitt is being deployed once again. This time, in David Ayer's upcoming war drama Fury, which centers on a five-man tank crew making one last push against the Germans in the final weeks of World War II. But the team finds itself terribly outnumbered and behind enemy lines. Pitt's Sergeant Wardaddy (nope, that's not a joke, that's really his name) stands at the center of Fury. He's a hardened, weary-eyed patrol leader that has marched his tank squad across the numerous fronts of WWII. Now his team is preparing to strike at the heart of the Nazi war machine, but the long battle has chipped away at their souls. Through its grit and intensity, the Fury trailer serves foremost as a reminder that Pitt might very well be at his best when playing a war hero.
His rugged good looks, strong jaw, and steady voice perfectly mirror the type of brave men we imagine were really stomping through the fields of Europe and Africa during the real WWII. Wardaddy seems eerily similar to Inglourious Basterds' Lt. Aldo Raine, a man who also fought Nazis behind enemy lines... though we don't think Wardaddy will be as scalp-happy as Lt. Raine. Both men had scars that told stories and experienced events during the war that fundamentally changed them.
Pitt is great at giving these soldiers layers. Wardaddy is a man putting on a brave face, even as his foundations are cracking at the joints. Looking as far back as 1994's Legends of the Fall, Pitt has always been great at giving soldier characters a sense of duty, honor, toughness, and vulnerability; all things that seem to be rolled into Pitt's portrayal of Wardaddy. We'll have to wait and see to be sure, but Fury looks like the latest in a line of good war performances from Brad Pitt.
Fury hits theaters November 14.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly scouting for locations for the next film they'll make together in Malta. The stars jetted off to the Mediterranean over the weekend, according to reports and local sources reveal they have been spotted checking out the islands' movie-rich locations.
Jolie recently revealed she had written a film, in which she and her fiance would star.
It will mark the couple's first time onscreen together since Mr. & Mrs. Smith a decade ago.
Pitt and Jolie met and fell in love while making the action film.
The Hollywood prankster who was sentenced to community service and psychological counselling after lunging at Brad Pitt on the red carpet of Angelina Jolie's new movie last month (May14) has been caught on camera having a merry old time during his punishment. Video footage obtained by The Hollywood Reporter shows Ukrainian journalist Vitalii Sediuk goofing off and riding a merry-go-round while serving his court-ordered work sentence in Los Angeles.
Sediuk, who has also been ordered to stay away from Pitt and Jolie, was assigned to collect litter in Los Angeles' Griffith Park, but it appears he has also been spending time partaking in leisurely activities.
In the new video, the prankster, sporting an orange safety vest, can be seen shaking a pair of maracas with a group of percussionists and playing conga drums.
While, in another photo also obtained by the publication, a smiling Sediuk sits astride a carved horse on the park's famous merry-go-round.
Sediuk has a string of unpleasant celebrity encounters on his hit list - he was arrested at the 2012 Grammy Awards after storming the stage, he received a slap from Will Smith as he attempted to kiss the star at a red carpet event, and he was apprehended by police in Cannes after trying to dive under America Ferrera's dress during a red carpet event at the film festival last month (May14).
He spent three nights in jail following his Pitt stunt at the Malificent premiere on 28 May (14) and pleaded no contest to one count each of battery and disturbing the peace.
Angelina Jolie is refusing to increase her security after her fiance Brad Pitt was accosted on the red carpet by a prankster last week (ends01Jun14). Ukrainian journalist Vitalii Sediuk was arrested after he scrambled over a security barrier at the Los Angeles premiere of Jolie's new film Maleficent and appeared to swipe Pitt in the face. However, the Oscar winner is adamant she will not bring in more bodyguards in the aftermath of the frightening incident.
She tells the Associated Press, "People like that are an exception to the rule. Most fans are just wonderful. We've had a wonderful experience over the years, and we're very grateful for their support, and it will not change the way we behave." Pitt has also echoed his fiancee's sentiment in a statement, which reads, "I don't mind an exhibitionist, but if this guy keeps it up he's going to spoil it for the fans who have waited up all night for an autograph or a selfie, because it will make people more wary to approach a crowd."
A judge has banned the serial prankster from attending any future Hollywood events as part of his sentence for charges of battery and unlawful activity at a sporting event, theatrical or exhibition, stemming from the incident with Pitt. The 25 year old has previously been slapped by Will Smith, hugged Leonard DiCaprio's crotch, climbed underneath America Ferrera's dress, and was arrested at the 2013 Grammy Awards for attempting to grab Adele's prize from presenter Jennifer Lopez.
