Robert De Niro is reuniting with his long-running collaborator Martin Scorsese on a new gangster movie. The Hollywood legends first teamed up in 1973 on crime drama Mean Streets and went on to make a number of films together, including Mafia-themed classics Goodfellas and Casino.
De Niro has now confirmed the pair will reteam for a ninth project, and return to their beloved gangster genre.
He says, "I have another gangster film I'm gonna do with Scorsese and it's a very interesting one. We're preparing it. We have a script and Marty has another film he's doing before so it won't be for a while."
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin tricked fans at a recent Arcade Fire show by going undercover as a skeleton-masked DJ. The Yellow hitmaker didn't have to travel far for the Canadian rockers' show in London, England, earlier this month (Nov13), and at the suggestion of Arcade Fire's Win Butler, Martin made the most of the concert in his hometown.
In an interview with BBC Radio Two, Butler has confessed that the British singer showed off his skills in the DJ booth during the concert - but, in order to keep the focus on the band, he donned a disguise so fans would not recognise him behind the turntables.
Butler admits, "He (Martin) was out at the DJ booth with me (the other night) wearing a skull mask. It was pretty cool. He was the hype man, he's an amazing hype man... I don't think anyone recognised him."
R Chiang / Splash NewsHaving recently scored her sixth consecutive Top 3 album with the festive-themed Wrapped In Red, Kelly Clarkson remains American Idol's biggest success story. In honor of her enduring career, here's a countdown of her first five studio albums from worst to best.5. My DecemberProving that she certainly wasn't a record label puppet, Clarkson battled long and hard with Sony BMG boss Clive Davis just to get her 2007 third album released following concerns that it was 'too negative' to appeal to a mainstream audience. While her fighting spirit should be applauded, Clarkson should perhaps have listened to the music mogul as on the whole, My December, was a shouty, tune-free and surprisingly bland affair which very nearly derailed her career.4. All I Ever Wanted Following the commercial disaster of its predecessor, All I Ever Wanted saw Clarkson fully embrace the pop world by hooking up with the likes of Ryan Tedder, Dr. Luke and old ally Max Martin on a hook-laden record which impressively managed to retain her personality while simultaneously and quite blatantly attempting to chase hits.3. StrongerMaintaining her winning streak, 2011's Stronger saw Clarkson challenge Pink as the number one pop-rock diva in the game with another collection of self-empowering anthems and big-lunged power ballads which produced a chart-topping single and arguably her most immediate offering to date in the shape of "Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)."2. ThankfulStill by far the most consistently strong debut by a talent show winner, Clarkson justified her win with a surprisingly eclectic record which ventured into everything from nu-soul ("Thankful") to pure pop balladry ("Anytime") to R&B ("Miss Independent"), while also showcasing the feisty pop-rock sound that would later become her forte.1. BreakawayThe album which transformed Clarkson from American Idol to global superstar, Breakaway saw Clarkson embrace guitars to instantly addictive effect, resulting in a string of hit singles ("Since U Been Gone," "Behind These Hazel Eyes," "Because Of You"), sales of over 15 million copies worldwide and two Grammy Awards.Follow @Hollywood_com
George Zimmerman, the man cleared of murdering teenager Trayvon Martin, has been arrested over allegations he attacked his girlfriend. The 30 year old was taken into custody in Florida on Monday (18Nov13) and charged with felony aggravated assault, battery, domestic violence and criminal mischief after an altercation with Samantha Scheibe, who is reportedly pregnant.
He is also accused of pointing a shotgun at the woman during the bust-up, said Chief Sheriff's Deputy Dennis Lemma.
In July (13), Zimmerman was acquitted of the second-degree murder and manslaughter of unarmed 17-year-old Martin, who was shot dead during a neighbourhood watch patrol. The verdict prompted mass demonstrations and inspired many leading human rights leaders and celebrities, including Jay Z and Beyonce, to speak out.
Lady Gaga has scored her third number one album on the U.K. music charts. The Born This Way hitmaker's new release ARTPOP has toppled Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which debuted at number one last week (begs11Nov13).
Celine Dion's Loved Me Back To Life debuts at three, while Little Mix's Salute and The Nation's Favourite Elvis Songs compilation round out the new top five.
On the singles charts, Martin Garrix's debut, Animals, has grabbed the number one spot ahead of Lily Allen's cover of Keane's Somewhere Only We Know, which she recorded for British department store John Lewis' Christmas TV advertisement.
Allen's cover sold just 12,000 fewer copies than teenager Garrix' first release.
Ellie Goulding's How Long Will I Love You, the official single of this year's BBC's Children In Need telethon, lands at three, while Eminem and Rihanna's former chart-topper, The Monster drops two places to four.
Hollywood star Angelina Jolie was handed an honorary Academy Award for her humanitarian work at a special ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday (16Nov13). The actress fought back tears as she received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from Star Wars filmmaker George Lucas during the Governors Awards, which are held by the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Upon accepting the golden statuette, the star thanked her partner, Brad Pitt, who was on hand to support the actress with their 12-year-old son Maddox.
She told Pitt from the stage, "My love. Your support and your guidance make everything I do possible".
Jolie also promised her son she would not cry, adding, "I'm not going to cry, I promise... I'm not going to embarrass you. You and your brothers and sisters are my happiness and there is no greater honour in this world than being your mom."
The trophy is Jolie's second Academy Award - she won her first for her performance in 1999 drama Girl, Interrupted.
Steve Martin and Angela Lansbury were also awarded honorary Oscars during the ceremony.
Former Frasier star David Hyde Pierce is returning to the Christopher Durang's play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike as a director for the show's Los Angeles premiere next year (14). The actor took a leading role in the production when it opened in New York last year (12), and now he's replacing director Nicholas Martin for the show's Mark Taper Forum run, which will star Christine Ebersole.
Movie producer Martin Bregman fears Alec Baldwin's stalker will struggle to cope with life behind bars. Canadian actress Genevieve Sabourin was convicted of stalking and harassing the 30 Rock star on Thursday (14Nov13) following a dramatic four-day trial in New York City.
Sabourin was sentenced to 180 days in jail, plus 30 more days for contempt of court for repeatedly heckling Baldwin and his wife Hilaria during their testimonies.
Scarface producer Bregman was dragged into the case over claims he set the actor up on a date with Sabourin, and he has now spoken out about her conviction, admitting he fears she will crack under the pressure of life in jail.
He tells the New York Daily News, "She's not a tough person. She's not going to last at Rikers (prison in New York). She thinks it's going to help her career. I believe that's what she thinks. She's famous now. It's a hell of a way to get there, kid."
Bregman, who is married, also dismissed allegations that he was having an affair with 41-year-old Sabourin, adding, "I'm 87 years old and that (reports of an affair with Sabourin) is very flattering, but that's all it is."
Alec Baldwin's accused stalker has been ordered to spend 30 days behind bars for contempt of court after continually interrupting proceedings in her ongoing trial. French Canadian actress Genevieve Sabourin is currently facing charges of bombarding the 55-year-old actor with emails and voicemails, and making unwelcome visits to his Big Apple homes after enjoying a meal with him in 2010.
Baldwin denied ever engaging in a romantic relationship with Sabourin during testimony in Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday (12Nov13), and called her alleged pestering "nightmarish" as he broke down on the stand.
His claims prompted a number of outbursts from the 41-year-old suspect, who loudly accused the actor of "lying" on multiple occasions. Judge Robert Mandelbaum ordered her to stay quiet and threatened to hold her in contempt of court for her actions, before she was bundled out of the courtroom by her lawyer, Todd Spodek.
When she returned to court on Wednesday (13Nov13), she was marched off to jail after disobeying Judge Mandelbaum's warnings by interrupting her own attorney.
In another trial twist, movie producer Martin Bregman has also accused Baldwin of lying under oath after the actor told the court he only met Sabourin for dinner as a favour to the veteran filmmaker, who had reportedly been having an affair with the woman.
The former 30 Rock star, who grew emotional during the hearing, claimed 41-year-old Sabourin was the married Scarface producer's longtime mistress - an allegation that stunned Bregman and prompted him to speak out to the New York Daily News.
He says, "He's lying... To sidestep any involvement with (Sabourin), he made up a report."
Branding the move "pretty stupid", he added, "I'm 87 years old and that (reports of an affair with younger woman Sabourin) is very flattering, but that's all it is."
Tuesday's court proceedings also featured testimony from Baldwin's wife Hilaria, who told the court she once tried to reason with Sabourin over the phone in a bid to persuade her to leave the couple alone.
Recalling the conversation, Hilaria, who wed Baldwin last year (12), said, "She starts shrieking at me, 'You b**ch! You b**tch! You b**ch! You b**ch!' Over and over again."
The trial continues.

John's of 12th Street Italian Restaurant
A patron mentions that this place looks like it would be in a Martin Scorsese movie. The Italian food is authentic and just watching it should cause you to salivate just a little. Featured dishes include veal meatballs (loaded with flavor: bread crumbs, milk, eggs, scallions, pecorino cheese, caramelized onions, Worcestershire sauce, basil, dried oregano, minced garlic) and making their own pasta from scratch. None of this out-of-the-box stuff.
Defonte's Sandwich Shop
A plethora of meats and cheeses are housed in this deli that cranks out New York heroes — about 200 or 300 of them a day. Give these guys credit, they make their own mozzarella. That cheese complements their massive sandwiches. Guy tries the steak pizzaiola sandwich and burns his mouth biting into the melted mozzarella. Totally worth it though.
The Smoke Joint
With that name you know it must be serving up barbeque. The main dish is an eye opener: killer short ribs that look like they're straight out of Jurassic Park. A nine-ingredient sauce spruces up the dinosauric ribs. There is nothing short about these short ribs; you won’t be left hungry. The Smoke Joint also serves buffalo wings, spicy pork links, pulled pork sandwiches and other delicious food that will have you reaching for wet napkins constantly. Standard napkins need not apply.
It specializes in Southern comfort food (not the alcohol Southern Comfort, although why would you want food drenched in that swill?). The featured menu item here is pretzels. Obviously, they are not the junky pretzels you buy in a bag or on the street corner. Great detail is put into forming these delicious pretzels. A mean beer cheese sauce is the pretzel's tag team partner. Initially, Guy doesn’t think the ramekin of sauce would be enough. He is proven wrong as its thickness and flavor provide plenty of cheesy and beer-y sustenance.
Pies 'n' Thighs
A mega-sized doughnut shines at this place. A pecan butter crunch doughnut is on the menu. Toffee and pecan are crunched up to coat the fried dessert. Guy claims it weighs three pounds. Although it’s never actually weighed, the doughnut looks plenty dense and packed with calories. It does look like it'll increase your waistline, but come on, it's a doughnut. There’s no such thing as a healthy doughnut. And if there is, don't eat it! Eat one at Pies 'n' Thighs, you'll enjoy yourself.
This 1940s Jewish deli specializes in kreplach, dumplings stuffed with brisket. Guy tries the fried kreplach and boiled version in soup. Naturally, he enjoys it. How awkward would it be for Guy to go to a location and make sour faces as he eats? Corned beef, beef tongue and stuffed cabbage also feature prominently at Ben's Best. The stuffed cabbage is a real mouthful. You get two meat-filled stuffed cabbages. Enjoy.
