Step away from the dangerous biopic roles, actors. Check out five Hollywood stars and the career-threatening roles they should never have taken.
1. Naomi Watts as Princess Diana
Yes, Naomi Watts was born in Sussex and raised in Wales, making her kind of British. Yes, Naomi Watts has recently confided to the press that Princess Di has given her the thumbs up to play her in her biopic from beyond the grave. No, it's not ok that a Hollywood actress is playing Britain's most beloved royal figure - and possibly woman, ever - in a film. No matter how winsome her smile, or fizzy her screen reprisal of the world's most adored dead person, Brits are gonna hate.
2. Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor
Elizabeth Taylor: screen icon and legend. Lindsay Lohan: troubled star of Freaky Friday and perennial Chateau Marmont squatter. Lohan's ideal starring role is a tired courtroom reality show, playing a strung-out unconvincing 'drama baby.' Who better to play the most beautiful and iconic star, ever? Anyone. Seriously, like...anyone.
3. Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace
Just because Amanda Seyfried's great in it, doesn't mean horny guys aren't watching this movie because it looks a whole lot like porn you can see on a first date.
4. Renee Zellweger as Beatrix Potter
After the passable English accent/ semblance of reality she brought to Bridget Jones, Oscar-winner Renee Zellweger's portrayal of Peter Rabbit's maker comes up hammier than a swimming pool full of gammon. As her hamster-cheeked face twists itself into unimaginable expressions, we're left in no doubt as to what Beatrix Potter's O-face looked like. What's that noise? It's the sound a career makes when it dies. Quick, nominate her for a Golden Globe to revive her. (Yes, that really happened.)
5. John Wayne as Genghis Khan
RKO Radio Pictures
Boy, give the Duke a break. The perennial cowboy tough guy must have twisted himself into knots trying to nail the nuances of playing infamous Mongol leader Genghis Khan in The Conqueror. Nope. He got a bowl cut and a weird wispy moustache and walked, talked and acted juuuust like he did in the Wild West. Bizarre, yes, but this film is so dangerously life-threatening it gets extra points. We're not talking figurative career suicide here. It killed him (probably). Production took place in Utah, downwind from a nuclear test site. 30 years later, almost half the 220-strong film crew had developed the big C. Just saying.

Superstar couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones decided to split up after she ended a bout of treatment for bipolar disorder in May (13), according to a new report. The Wall Street star and his Traffic actress wife announced on Wednesday (28Aug13) that they are "taking some time apart" to work on their marriage.
The news followed weeks of speculation about the state of their relationship, and a report in British newspaper The Sun suggests the Hollywood heavyweights have been apart since the end of May.
It is believed their marriage broke down amid the stress of dealing with Zeta-Jones' illness and Douglas' cancer battle in 2010.
Last month (Jul13), Zeta-Jones revealed she has a private room at the couple's U.S. home where she spends hours sitting alone to be away from her husband.
She said, "We recently had an extension built, to house a closet. It's like the (Doctor Who) Tardis - I go in there and never come out. My husband knocks on the door and says, 'Can I come in?'. But I've got a TV in there, and my daughter brings her friends in... I could be in there for the whole day, happily."
John Stamos was surrounded by his TV family as he turned 50 on Monday (26Aug13) when the cast of Full House turned out to join in his birthday celebrations. The actor threw a huge Rat Pack-themed bash to mark the milestone at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles.
His former co-stars Bob Saget, Candace Cameron Bure and Ashley Olsen were all out in force at the party, where Sir Tom Jones took to the stage to sing It's Not Unusual to the birthday boy.
Taking to Twitter.com, he writes, "Had the party of a lifetime Monday night - everyone that is so important in my life was there."
Other stars at the event included members of the Beach Boys and Glee star Darren Criss, who also performed.
"Front row of Michael Kors fashion show is Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas on one side of me and Marisa Tomei on the other side. It looks like I won a radio contest, it doesn't make sense." Olivia Munn still can't believe she gets invited to big events.
Superstar couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have separated. Rumours began to swirl over the weekend (24-25Aug13) that the couple, who wed in 2000 and have two children, were heading for a split, and now a representative for the actress has confirmed they have split.
The rep says, "Catherine and Michael are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage."
The Wall Street actor, 68, and his Welsh wife, 43, have not been snapped in public together since April (13), and People.com reports the stress of Douglas' cancer battle in 2010 and Traffic star Zeta-Jones' bipolar disorder has taken its toll on their marriage.
Former TV Wonder Woman Lynda Carter is heading back to the small screen to join the cast of Two And A Half Men. The actress will play "a version of herself" in the upcoming 11th season of the sitcom.
Carter won't be the only new face on the show this season - actress Amber Tamblyn has joined the cast as the lesbian daughter of deceased character Charlie Harper, who was played by Charlie Sheen.
Tamblyn will replace Angus T. Jones as a regular on the show. Jones quit at the end of the last season after growing tired of his own TV celebrity.
Stereophonics rocker Kelly Jones was wheeled through an airport on a luggage trolley after twisting his ankle during a booze binge in Japan. The Have a Nice Day hitmaker was partying in the Far East but underestimated the strength of the local beer and took a tumble, injuring his leg.
His ankle was so painful he could barely walk, so when they arrived at an airport for their flight home, his bandmates used a trolley as a makeshift wheelchair.
Jones says, "I foolishly assumed the lager over there wouldn't be that strong because the Japanese are only small. In fact, they're not much bigger than me. As a result, me and Jamie (Morrison), our drummer, ended up extremely drunk. I somehow managed to fall over him and twist my ankle something chronic."
Rap icon Snoop Dogg has signed on to host the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards. The Gin & Juice hitmaker will make his debut as the ceremony's host when he fronts the show at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center in Georgia on 28 September (13).
Announcing the news, Snoop says, "I'm excited to be hosting this year's BET Hip Hop Awards 2013. We're going to have fun this year and I will make it a show to remember, ya dig?! I'll be giving a ton of surprises... and bringing all my nieces and nephews to the stage for an exciting night of hip hop."

Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins is a single lady again after reportedly splitting from her latest boyfriend. The former Dancing With The Stars contender began dating stockbroker Adam Bidwell, a close friend of British royal Prince Harry, in February (13), but they have decided to go their separate ways.
According to Britain's Daily Mirror, the pair's relationship became strained after Bidwell began spending more time in the gym shaping up for an upcoming charity boxing match.
A source tells the tabloid, "Adam has been training really hard for this boxing match and has been really under the cosh (under pressure) at work. It was Katherine's decision but she still loves Adam and will continue to support him as a friend. Despite this she is incredibly sad and feeling pretty raw - splitting up is always painful."
The romance was Jenkins' first since she called off her engagement to Welsh TV host Gethin Jones in December 2011.
Saved By The Bell star Dustin Diamond and actor Doug Hutchison's teenage wife Courtney Stodden are among the famous faces giving up their privacy for British reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother. Abz Love, of boy band 5ive, and British model/TV personality Sophie Anderton also entered the camera-filled house during the programme's launch on Thursday (22Aug13).
They were joined by British TV stars Mario Falcone, Carol McGiffin, Charlotte Crosby, Danielle Marr, Lauren Harries and Louie Spence, former TV soap couple Bruce Jones and Vicky Entwistle and one-time Manchester United manager Ron Atkinson.
The stars will battle it out in a series of challenges and evictions to be crowned the winner when the show wraps next month (Sep13).
