Michael Jackson's iconic Neverland ranch is to be sold by a billionaire's private investment firm.
According to sources, Tom Barrack's company Colony Capital is planning to put Neverland on the market. The firm currently own a primary stake in the estate after a deal made in 2007, when it purchased the $23 million loan (£14 million) Jackson owed to private investment group, Fortress Investment.
A representative for Jackson's estate tells in a statement, "We are saddened at the prospect of the sale of Neverland which, under the agreement negotiated during Michael's lifetime, Colony has the right to sell.
"The estate will maintain Michael's family home in Encino, including its iconic recording studio there... We hope and trust that any new owners of Neverland will respect the historical importance and special nature of this wonderful property."
Jackson bought the California property in 1988 and stayed there until his child molestation trial in 2004.

Hollywood screenwriter Dustin Lance Black and his Olympian boyfriend Tom Daley suffered a terrifying ordeal on Monday (21Jul14) when the plane they were travelling in made an emergency landing in Russia.
Post by Dustin Lance Black.
The Milk writer and his sports star partner were travelling back to London from a diving championship in Shanghai, China when their jet appeared to run into problems. Black captured a video of fuel being dumped from the plane over Russia shortly before the jet made an emergency landing in Irkutsk, and he posted it to his Facebook.com page with the message, "Emergency landing into a Russian town. This was our view over Mongolia. #VirginAtlantic #ScaryAsHell (sic)."
He later added a picture of the plane sitting on the runway surrounded by fire engines, writing, "Locked in the broken plane. No word on what's happening. #EmergencyLanding in Russia. #FireEngines abound. #NeedToPee! (sic)."
Post by Dustin Lance Black.
Black's partner Daley also took to social media to voice his fears about the flight, revealing he was left terrified as the incident came just days after a Malaysia Airlines plane was shot down over the Ukraine in a suspected attack by pro-Russian rebels. He writes in a post on Twitter.com, "Scary to emergency land in RUS (Russia) after recent events, yet no word on what problem is after hour surrounded by fire engines #VirginAtlantic."
A spokeswoman from the Virgin Atlantic airline blamed the emergency landing on a technical problem, saying, "Virgin Atlantic can confirm that the VS251 travelling from Shanghai to London Heathrow has diverted to Irkutsk Airport, Russia, as a precautionary measure due to a technical issue. Safety and security is always our top priority... "Our priority now is to ensure our customers resume their journey as soon as possible. The airline would like to thank passengers for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Actress Katie Holmes is showing off her sexy side by going topless for a new magazine photoshoot.
The Batman Begins star, who is known for her more conservative fashion sense, is featured posing seductively on the cover of Glamour, wearing a pair of jeans and a denim shirt, which is unbuttoned down to her breasts.
Another photo inside the magazine shows Holmes without the shirt, with her arms crossed over her chest to preserve her modesty.
In the accompanying interview, Tom Cruise's ex-wife gushes about life with the former couple's eight-year-old daughter Suri, saying, "Motherhood is the greatest gift. When I became a mother, my life completely changed."
"But the biggest change? I think you don't know - I didn't know how much love I had in me. It's overwhelming. Every day I discover more about this spectacular human being I get to be the mother of."
And Holmes admits she is so busy juggling her parenting responsibilities with work, she is not currently interested in dating, stating, "I am really focused on motherhood and work right now."
Cruise and Holmes split in 2012 after six years of marriage.
Country superstar Keith Urban gave his wife Nicole Kidman the ultimate wedding anniversary present at a gig on Wednesday (25Jun14) when he dedicated a song he wrote about their relationship to the actress.
The You'll Think of Me hitmaker was onstage in Melbourne, Australia when he turned his attention to his wife of eight years, who was in the audience. After a fan shouted out "Happy anniversary!", Urban responded, "It is tonight. My wife and I are celebrating eight years of marriage tonight. And she's here tonight."
He then recalled a moment before their wedding, which inspired a track titled Once in a Lifetime. Urban said, "This is a true story... Nic and I had just gotten engaged in September of 2005. And we were planning our wedding, which was going to take place here in Australia, in June. "A couple months or so before our wedding, we were in our hotel and we were talking about the future and I could tell that Nic was getting very nervous about the thought of marrying me. It's a big thing you know. It's a big thing to get married. It takes an enormous amount of trust and a leap of faith."
The singer continued to reassure Kidman, who was previously married to Tom Cruise, that he was going to be "her man, forever", hoping there was a way to show her that he would never leave her side.
The day after their conversation, Urban hit the music studio and wrote Once in a Lifetime, which he dusted off for fans - and Kidman - on Wednesday.
He said, "This is called Once in a Lifetime. Eight years, baby girl, this is for you tonight my love; I love you so much."

British actress Emily Blunt "almost killed" Tom Cruise on the set of their new movie Edge Of Tomorrow when she accidentally slammed a car into a tree in the middle of a high-speed stunt.
The Devil Wears Prada star admits Cruise, a seasoned action man, was already uncomfortable not being in the driving seat for the scene, and he even tried to urge her to hit the brakes earlier to avoid a collision - but she refused to listen and ignored his pleas to bring the car to a halt.
She explains, "We were driving this crazy old car with a big trailer behind it and the stunt guy was like, 'Right, I want you to go really fast down the path and then take a really hard right and I want the trailer to swing out behind you, so get it moving and it can be kind of violent.' I was like, 'Great'. Tom Cruise is in the passenger seat - not his favourite place to be... He wants to be behind the wheel."
"We do the first take, it went really well. Stunt guy came over and he went, 'OK, just do it again but kinda do it even faster.' I was like, 'No problem.' "So we start to tear down this path. Tom's being very quiet behind me and suddenly I just hear this... under his breath, as I approach the right hand turn, I hear him going, 'Brake, brake, brake... brake... brake, brake, brake, brake... brake... Oh God! Oh God! Brake! Brake the car! Brake the car!' I left it too late and so drove us into a tree and I almost killed Tom Cruise!"
Blunt, who had never filmed an action movie before, admits the shock of the accident caused her to burst into laughter and she ended up having to apologise to the actor for the close call. She confesses, "When I first heard him say, 'Brake', in my head I went, 'Oh, shut up', you know? As if I knew more about stunt driving than Tom Cruise! I was just laughing (after the crash) and he was actually laughing and I told him, I said, 'I thought you were being so annoying when you told me to start braking and I apologise.'"
