Robert Downey, Jr. is preparing for new fatherhood by purchasing a minivan. The Iron Man action star is the new owner of a Honda Odyssey as his wife Susan prepares to give birth to a baby girl in November (14). The tot will be a little sister for the couple's three-year-old son Exton, while the actor is also dad to 21-year-old Indio, from his previous marriage to Deborah Falconer.
Actor Robert Downey, Jr. is set to become a father for the third time. The Iron Man star, 49, will welcome a daughter with wife Susan Downey in November (14), according to a brief message posted on his Twitter.com page on Wednesday (09Jul14).
He writes, "Yo. Susan. Me. Baby. Girl. November. Scorpio?"
The actor's representative has since confirmed the news.
The couple is also parents to baby boy Exton, who was born in February, 2012.
Downey, Jr. also has a grown-up son named Indio with actress/singer Deborah Falconer. The 20 year old hit headlines last month (Jun14) after he was arrested for cocaine possession in Hollywood.
Actor Robert Downey, Jr. is throwing his support behind his son following the 20 year old's cocaine possession arrest. Indio Downey, whose mother is the Hollywood star's ex-wife Deborah Falconer, has been charged with suspicion of drug possession following a traffic stop on Sunday (29Jun14) in West Hollywood, California.
On Monday (30Jun14), Indio was released on $10,250 (£6,000) bail and the Iron Man star has now spoken out publicly for the first time since his son's arrest, insisting he'll have all the support he needs while facing a difficult ordeal.
A statement from Downey, Jr. reads: "Unfortunately there's a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it. Also, there is a lot of family support and understanding, and we're all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he's capable of being.
"We're grateful to the Sheriff's department for their intervention, and believe Indio can be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale."

Robert Downey, Jr.'s son has been arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession. Indio Downey, whose mother is the Hollywood star's ex-wife Deborah Falconer, was detained by police in West Hollywood, California on Sunday afternoon (29Jun14).
The 20 year old was a passenger in a car which was pulled over by police, and he was allegedly found in possession of the drug following a search, according to TMZ.com. He was arrested and taken to a local police station where he was booked on the drug charge.
Downey was released in the early hours of Monday morning (30Jun14) on $10,250 (£6,406) bail. Downey's movie star father spent years battling drug problems after finding fame in Hollywood in the 1980s.
He later turned his life around and made a successful career comeback.
The Hollywood actor and his producer wife Susan welcomed their first child together in February (12), and Downey, Jr. admits he struggled to enjoy the excitement of becoming a parent again because he harboured so many worries for his new son.
But his fears disappeared once he laid eyes on little Exton - a half-brother to Downey, Jr.'s teenage son Indio, from his previous marriage to actress Deborah Falconer.
He tells Esquire magazine, "There was all this trepidation, all this projection, all this anticipation and goodwill and a good vibe about it. But what you're squeezing to the side - or what's in the glove box - is these thousands of forms of fear.
"And then he was born and they've all just kind of scattered now. It seems like he's always been here."
Now he is a dad again, Downey, Jr. insists he won't be trying to act like an Iron Man-esque superhero in front of his baby boy - because he wants his son to grow up as well-rounded as possible.
He says, "Do I want to be a hero to my son? No. I would like to be a very real human being. That's hard enough.
"Every dad casts a shadow, you know? And that shadow is you're disappointed, you're resentful, or you feel so supported and loved you don't understand why life is so hard anyway - or, you know, it's so long and so dark that you can never step out of it, so you might as well not even try."
The Iron Man star and his film producer wife announced they were expecting their first child together in August (11) and Susan gave birth to Exton Elias Downey in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning (07Feb12).
A friend of the happy couple tells People.com, "Everyone is healthy and they couldn’t be happier."
Downey, Jr. is also father to 18-year-old son Indio, from his previous marriage to actress Deborah Falconer.
The new parents wed in 2005.
The actor's wife Susan Downey is pregnant with their first child, a half-sibling for the Iron Man star's son Indio, from his first marriage to actress Deborah Falconer.
The baby is due in February (12), but with his busy schedule Downey Jr., 46, admits he'll be a working father for the youngster's early years.
He tells Britain's Live magazine, "It's funny. I used to say that I'd welcome a bullet to the forehead if I ever ended up as a 40-something, remarried, marketable, big-action movie dad living in a cosy cul-de-sac in suburban LA. Now I am that guy.
"It just goes to show that I usually don't know what's good for me in life. But I'm getting better at knowing that stuff. I don't need to rub against the grain nearly as much as I used to. I'm 46 now, so the countdown to my half-century has begun. I'd have to be completely deranged not to stress about that.
"Life is good. With a new baby on the way, maybe I ought to think about slowing down a little. But I can't see that happening in the short term."
"Robert and Susan could not be more excited over this news. They can't wait to welcome this new baby into their wonderful family." Robert Downey, Jr.'s representative confirms the Iron Man star and his wife, producer Susan Downey, are set to welcome their first child together. The actor already has a 17-year-old son, named Indio, from his previous marriage to actress Deborah Falconer.
The actor, who played a man rushing home to be with his pregnant wife in the 2010 comedy Due Date, is expecting a baby with the film producer in February (12).
The news was confirmed by Susan's aunt Nancy Miller, who tells U.S. magazine Star, "I think it's wonderful that she's pregnant. The baby is due in February. Susan's father, my brother, called me about three weeks ago with the good news. Her parents are over the moon about it."
The new arrival will be Susan's first child but Downey, Jr. is already a father - he has a 17-year-old son Indio from his first marriage to actress Deborah Falconer.
While promoting Due Date to Playboy Magazine last November, Robert Downey Jr. hinted that he and his wife Susan Downey wanted to have a child together pretty soon because he wanted to be "wrist-deep in doo-doo within 18 months." Already father to now 18 year-old son Indio (whose mother is Deborah Falconer, whom Downey Jr. was married to from 1992 to 2004), Downey said he probably would want his next child to be a girl because "I don't want another male entity to have to compete; I don't want Indio to feel there's another boy in my life. But I don't know what we'd have to do [to have a girl]. Do we have to put it in a spoon and hang it upside-down?"
Well whatever the Downeys ended up doing, all they can do now is wait because Radar Online is reporting that the couple is officially expecting their first child. Family members confirm that Susan's due in February, and her aunt told Star Magazine, "I think it's wonderful that she's pregnant. The baby is due in February. Susan's father, my brother, called me about three weeks ago with the good news. Her parents are over the moon about it." In terms of whether or not the Downeys continue to cross their fingers for a girl, Miller stated "It doesn't really matter if it's a boy or a girl. What really matters is if the baby is healthy." And that's definitely true -- but what's also definitely true is that his days of sulking around in Elton John music videos are over, and that's something that surely matters to everyone.
