Finely crafted, well thought out, always humble…are phrases that would never be used to describe the things Kanye West says in public. Whether it’s interrupting Taylor Swift’s VMA speech, gushing over wife Kim Kardashian, or – his favorite – bragging about himself, Kanye is the wordsmith of crazy. But one thing’s for certain: When he speaks, he always gets attention. So maybe he’s a genius after all? You be the judge. Here are some of his most ridiculous quotes, taken from various interviews and appearances.
"I’m a creative genius and there’s no other way to word it.”
"When I think of competition it's like I try to create against the past. I think about Michelangelo and Picasso, you know, the pyramids."
“I am undoubtedly, you know, Steve of Internet, downtown, fashion, culture. Period. By a long jump. I honestly feel that because Steve has passed, you know, it’s like when Biggie passed and Jay-Z was allowed to become Jay-Z.”
“There’s no way a Kim Kardashian shouldn’t have a star on the Walk of Fame.”
"Come on now! How could you be me and want to be someone else?"
“Sometimes people write novels and they just be so wordy and so self-absorbed. I am not a fan of books. I would never want a book’s autograph.”
“When Beyoncé was working on her album, she had pictures of Kim on the wall because Kim represents powerful women.”
Somehow we doubt this.
"All barber shops, fashion designers, architects, corner stores, Wall Street, all over the world: Y'all acting like this ain't the most beautiful woman of all time! I'm talkin', like, arguably of human existence — the top 10 of human existence."
“God chose me. He made a path for me. I am God’s vessel. But my greatest pain in life is that I will never be able to see myself perform.”
“Like, I’m just giving up my body on the stage; I’m putting my life at risk, literally!”
"So, the voices in my head told me go, and then I just walked up, like, halfway up the stage... But I just didn’t really want to take away from Beck’s moment, or the time he’s having to talk. It was kind of a joke – like the Grammys themselves."
At least he admits he hears voices.
"I hate when I'm on a flight and I wake up with a water bottle next to me like oh great now I gotta be responsible for this water bottle."
This man has a child now...
"I don't even listen to rap. My apartment is too nice to listen to rap in."
"I'm a pop enigma. I live and breathe every element in life. I rock a bespoke suit and I go to Harold's for fried chicken. It's all these things at once, because, as a taste maker, I find the best of everything."
"I will be the leader of a company that ends up being worth billions of dollars, because I got the answers. I understand culture. I am the nucleus."

R&B veterans Jodeci are preparing to return to the charts this spring (15) with the release of their first new album in 20 years. The Let's Get Married hitmakers reunited at the Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas in November (14), coming together for the first time since 2006, and now they have announced plans to share new material at the end of March (15).
The band members unveiled the video for the ballad Every Moment, the first single from upcoming album The Past, The Present, The Future, on the group's Facebook.com page on Wednesday night (25Feb15).
In the accompanying caption, they wrote, "This the moment y'all been waiting for! Watch our new video #EveryMoment NOW! Make sure y'all share it with errrbody (everybody)!"
The Past, The Present, The Future will be Jodeci's fourth studio album and the follow-up to 1995's The Show, The After Party, The Hotel.
Kanye West is lobbying Drake to head into the studio with him for a joint album. The Power rapper reveals he and the Canadian star previously discussed ideas for a possible collaboration back in 2011, but the talks were sidelined as Drake was already working on music with his label boss Lil Wayne, and West and Jay Z had just started planning their Watch The Throne album.
However, West is still keen to pursue the project and is hoping fans will react positively to the potential news to will it into fruition.
During an interview on New York's Power 105.1 radio station, he says: "I'm just gonna go ahead and say it, because maybe this will promote it happening."
He also reveals his new song Wolves, with Vic Mensa and Sia, had originally been intended for West to record with Drake, adding, "The Wolves song came from a conversation that me and Drake had where we was gonna do an album together. The album is called Wolves..."
He continues, "Me and Jay Z started talking about Watch The Throne, and Drake went and did all the records with Wayne and did the tour, and we never did (the Wolves album). But I just put it in the ether, out in the world. Y'all don't like it, then y'all can send it right back."
If you watched this year's Super Bowl Half Time show you probably jumped out of your seat when Missy Elliot made a guest appearance. But, if you're like me, you were searching for one more thing. Where was the little girl who was in almost all of Missy's videos (and some of her live performances)? Alyson Stoner might have been MIA then, but she's just showed up now in the best way.
On her YouTube page, TheRealAlysonStoner, she posted this Missy Elliot tribute and it's ah-mazing:
She can still flip it and reverse like its nobody's business.
You know Missy saw this and showed the love on Twitter:
@AlysonOnTour was the lil girl in my "work it" Gossipfolks video they grown up! MissyElliott Tribute http://t.co/osy22OyVeH
— Missy Elliott (@MissyElliott) February 12, 2015
And Missy also gave Alyson a shout out from when she was a kid:
Y'all enjoying @alysonontour MissyElliott tribute this her @ 9 yrs old in my work it video http://t.co/ZGiIfbqbUV

Stoner is up to a lot more than you might have thought. She's appeared in several Step Up movies, proving that she's even better of a dancer now than when she was the "little girl" in Missy's videos. She's also voiced Isabella on Phineas and Ferb since 2007. In 2015, you can expect to see her Selling Isobel and Kandence. We can also look forward to original music from Stoner some time this year.
You can follow Alyson Stoner on Twitter for updates on what she's up to 13 years after the "Work It" music video released.
Actress Raven-Symone is set to make a return to the Disney Channel on Zendaya Coleman's new show K.C. Undercover.
The former child star ended a four-season run as the lead of Emmy-nominated That's So Raven in 2007, and now she is to return to the kids-centered network as a guest star.
Coleman took to Instagram.com on Monday (02Feb15) and shared a snapshot of a script from an upcoming episode, and focused in on Raven-Symone's name, which was listed under the "Guest Cast" with the caption, "It's real y'all!"
Raven-Symone last appeared on the Disney Channel in 2010, guest starring in an episode of Demi Lovato's sitcom, Sonny with a Chance.
Embattled actor Columbus Short has been slapped with a restraining order from a pregnant lover amid allegations he became abusive and threatened the life of Jamie Foxx during a heated argument. The former Scandal star, who split from his wife Tanee McCall-Short in 2013, stands accused of hurling expletives at personal trainer Agostina Laneri and allegedly hitting her young son, prompting her to obtain a protective order against Short last week (ends30Jan15).
In court papers, Laneri, who has been linked to Short since December (14), claims the actor even dragged Foxx's name into the clash, reportedly telling her, "If I choose to kill one of these n**gas... I will do that. I'm that crazy n**ga that will be on the news as the n**ga that murked (murdered) Jamie Foxx.'"
It is not clear why Short mentioned Foxx during the altercation.
Laneri goes on to accuse her estranged partner of once threatening her, saying, "Don't forget who I am. I have a knife" and previously stating, "Y'all should be very afraid. Very afraid."
Short has yet to respond to the allegations. The 32 year old has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards (91.44 metres) away from Laneri and her son, according to TMZ.com.
It's the latest legal woe for Short, who is due to stand trial for felony battery following a bar brawl in Los Angeles last March (14).
The actor, who previously blamed his troubles on alcohol and drug addictions, is currently on probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanour spousal battery last summer (14) relating to a fight with his estranged wife.
South Carolina Supreme Court officials have abandoned plans to force a freelance journalist to reveal her source as part of an ongoing fight over James Brown's estate. The late soul legend's widow, Tommie Rae Hynie, demanded to know how local reporter Sue Summer had obtained a copy of her diary, excerpts of which were published online last week (ends30Jan15).
The journal entries, which appeared to express Hynie's frustration over the late singer's refusal to stage a ceremony with a justice of the peace to ensure their 2001 wedding was legal.
The posts seemingly contradict Hynie's assertions that she and the music icon were officially married at the time of the Godfather of Soul's death in 2006.
Judge Doyet Early III, who has been presiding over the estate battle, ordered Summer to remove the Facebook.com posts and summoned her to court in Aiken County on Monday, when she was expected to surrender her cell phone, notes and other records relating to the diary.
However, higher authorities put a stop to the hearing moments before it was due to begin over questions of legality.
Before the ruling, Summer's lawyer, Thomas Pope, branded the request "idiotic", insisting, "The reporter shield law makes that (revealing source) absolutely sacrosanct."
Summer maintains she was sent the diary anonymously last month (Jan15) in an envelope with no return address.
Agreeing not to press the reporter for her sources, Judge Early III used Monday's brief hearing to discuss an upcoming mediation session between the different parties fighting over James Brown's will, urging the group to reach a settlement out of court, saying, "I encourage and hope y'all (you all) will go into this with open hearts and open minds."
The latest developments emerge two weeks after the same judge ruled Hynie, also known as Tommie Rae Brown, was the late star's legal spouse at the time of his passing, amid allegations she was already married when she and the singer exchanged vows in 2001. The judge claimed the marriage was void because her former husband, Javed Ahmed, had committed bigamy.
The decision paves the way for Hynie, who shares a son with Brown, to lay claim to a chunk of the musician's multi-million dollar estate, which has been at the centre of a long-running legal battle.
Rapper Missy Elliott was stunned by the reaction to her appearance onstage during the Super Bowl half-time show on Sunday night (01Feb15), confessing she didn't realize how much she was missed until the big gig.
The acclaimed MC, who has stayed out of the spotlight over the past decade, made a big comeback at the Super Bowl after headliner Katy Perry invited the rapper to perform a few of her hits during the Roar hitmaker's set.
After performing Get Ur Freak On, Work It and Lose Control, fans, including many celebrities, took to social media to salute Elliott for her showstopping set and long-awaited return to music. She in turn shared her gratitude for the tremendous amount of support on Twitter.com, writing: "Thank u all for the outpouring of love @ the SuperBowl! & @katyperry I'm humbly grateful for u inviting me to join u (sic)."
Elliott, who revealed hyperthyroid disorder Graves' disease had prevented her from creating new songs in 2011, went on to admit she never dreamed of such a warm welcome back to music. She confessed, "I cried because I've been thru so much but I'm still here & thru the grace of God & u the fans believing in me I love y'all. to my peers the artist(s) who tweeted me I love u all to your kind words keep me uplifted also! Grateful!
"Tbh (to be honest) I didn't realize how much I was missed til last night. I'm crying y'all 4give me I just can't stop thanking God & y'all."
Chris Brown has postponed his upcoming tour after his probation was revoked by a judge earlier this month (Jan15).
The Kiss Kiss hitmaker was slated to kick off his Between The Sheets shows with Trey Songz on Wednesday (28Jan15), but Brown has now announced that fans will have to wait a little longer to see him in concert. The embattled R&B star took to Instagram.com to write, "I would first like to apologize to all the fans and people who have been supporters of me and all the music over the years. The beginning of the BTS tour has been moved to later dates now. "The judge would not sign off on my travel to do the tour until I finish these last 100 hours of community service. I promise that I am busting my a** doing it everyday until it's complete... This is the most disappointing news I've gotten in a while... Out of 1000 hours I only have 100 left. I will work my a** off to complete it and I will be on that stage. "Once again I'm sorry for the delay. I love y'all! We will let y'all know the dates that are changed. It's not cancelled."
The singer's probation stemming from his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna was revoked after it was determined that he recently broke court orders by leaving Los Angeles County to play a gig in San Jose, California. Officials also cited Brown's failure to complete his court-ordered community service before the recommended deadline for the decision.
Brown, who spent time in jail last year (14), could end up back behind bars if he is found to have wilfully violated the terms of his probation. The Behind The Sheets tour was initially scheduled to kick off in his home state of Virginia, with the U.S. tour continuing through until March (15).
R&B stars Tlc have expressed their gratitude to fans including Katy Perry, Bette Midler and New Kids On The Block for generously donating to their album crowdfunding campaign, making it most successful pop project on Kickstarter.com. The Creep hitmakers called on fans on Monday (19Jan15) to help cover the costs for their fifth and final album and gave themselves a month to hit their target of $150,000 (£93,750).
They reached their goal in just four days, thanks to big cash pledges from Perry and New Kids on the Block's Donnie Wahlberg, among others, and now Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins and Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas have issued a statement to People.com to thank their loyal followers.
The message reads: "Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for our fans for all of their amazing support. We feel so blessed to know that not only do our fans love us, but they believe in us. We have received support from longtime listeners that attended our first concerts, plus new fans who have only just started listening."
Giving special shout-outs to their most notable supporters, they add: "We were also so humbled by the outpour (sic) of support from other artists like Katy Perry, New Kids on the Block, Dev Hynes, Russell Simmons, Soulja Boy, Bette Midler and more!"
And TLC were given extra reason to celebrate on Thursday (22Jan15) as they discovered they had made Kickstarter history.
