Rapper Kanye West has opened up about the first time he met girlfriend Kim Kardashian and instantly fell in love. The Jesus Walks hitmaker sat down with his future mother-in-law Kris Jenner to tape an interview, which aired on her talk show Kris on Friday (23Aug13), and revealed it was love at first sight when he met her daughter.
He told Jenner, "I'm trying to remember if it was her being in the studio when she was Brandy's assistant and I think she brought us in something to drink, something you can't drink on daytime television, or it might have been when I was doing Brandy's video. I remember asking my manager like, 'Who's that girl right there?' and he's like, 'Oh you mean Kim?'"
West proclaimed he knew Kardashian was 'the one' and spent the next few years pursuing her, despite the fact they were both in other relationships - she romanced Reggie Bush and briefly wed basketball star Kris Humphries, while he dated model Amber Rose.
He says, "I remember seeing pictures of her, I think she was in Australia with Paris Hilton, and reading her name and telling my friends like, 'Man, have you ever seen Kim Kardashian?'"
West eventually cast her as Star Wars character Princess Leia in his failed TV pilot Alligator Boots, and finally plucked up the courage to speak to her one day on set.
He explains, "I remember I had this TV show that had puppets in it, like a modern day Jim Henson vibe, and we were doing this skit where I was playing, like, a Star Wars character and I wanted her to be Princess Leia because she was my dream girl.
"So she came to the show and I just remember being so nervous around her and so in awe that she was actually in front of me and we shot the scene and I was able to start talking to her and just speaking with her... I was in love with her before I ever got to talk to her."
Kardashian and West have been together for over a year. In June (13), they welcomed their first child together, a daughter named North West.
Where Kim Kardashian's love life is, a camera follows — just look at how the tabloid figure's one-time husband Kris Humphries was incorporated into her reality show lifestyle. Not only did Kourtney & Kim Take New York follow Kardashian and Humphries' relationship prior to their wedding, but the reality star also turned her nuptials into a two-part E! extravaganza. But now that Humphries is out of the picture, it seems Kardashian has found a new target (or should we say co-star?): Kanye West. Though reports have suggested that West won't be a part of the next season of Keeping up with the Kardashians, he does have a "K" in his name. Therefore, we will assume that a spin-off is inevitable. But if the newly anointed tabloid couple were to khronicle their kourtship on reality television, what would they name the series? We have some suggestions.
1. Keeping Up with Kim & Kanye
Let's keep our first suggestion simple. This series would tell the story of how West and Kardashian's eight-year-long friendship blossomed into a full-blown romance. Plus, there's that rumor that West cheated on his ex-girlfriend, Amber Rose, with Karadshian — and that Kardashian cheated on Humphries with West. Now, that's that would pay for 50 years of self-tanner for executive producer Ryan Seacrest.
2. Kim & Kanye Krash Kansas City
Forget about Khloe & Lamar. In an absolute dream reality world, this show would track the lives of Kim and Kanye as they leave the Hollywood limelight and head to Kansas City (because, why not? And we're not cruel enough to send them to Kankakee). Kardashian could open a new Dash boutique, which always proves to be Major. Dilemma. And, Kanye would struggle with finally learning how to use his keyboard without his entourage. HOW DOES HE REMOVE CAPS LOCK?
3. Kim and Kanye Take Over Your Google Reader
News flash: Kim has a boyfriend. Breaking: Kim & Kanye, hot new item. This Just In: Kim has met her one, true love. Yes, it seems every media outlet has a Kim and Kanye story covering their homepage. Just pit a camera in front of your Google Reader and you get to enjoy non-stop, soul-sucking plot 24/7.
4. Kim Kardashian's Two-Part Second Fairy Tale Warning: Imma Let You Finish Your Vows... Before We Split
Oops, did it once — she can (and will!) do it again. That's get hitched on television. The only question is, would she still rack in the huge numbers for round two? And is it possible for West to crash his own wedding?
5. Kim Kardashian: Finding Happily Ever After... With West?
Kardashian says she's not to blame for her marriage to Humphries falling apart. She simply thought she fell in love, but didn't realize he wasn't the one until after saying "I do." Well, here's her chance to expense counseling! Let's place Kim with a therapist and dissect why she can't maintain a relationship. Think: In Treatment, but with martini glasses full of water (Kim doesn't drink), lots of group sessions with Kourtney and Khloe (who will overshare their gross family habits), and all of this taking place on a private jet on the way to Africa (where one of the Karadshians will adopt). Will Kim be able to cure her love ailment? If she can, Kanye will be magically waiting for her at the end of her journey. With fishsticks.
Kanye Kroons Over Kardashian In New Single
Kim and Kanye Dating?
Kanye West is fed up with the fact that people have been spreading rumors about his personal life. In his jaw-dropping, new single — "Theraflu" — it seems that Kanye finally comes clean about his breakup with Amber Rose, reveals that he fell in love with Kim Kardashian, and seems to attack Kris Humphries for the fact that he stole Kardashian away from him. Kanye, do you feel better now?
Rumor one: Kanye was upset that Wiz Khalifa got engaged to his ex, Amber Rose.
Kanye doesn't seem to mind Khalifa and Rose's relationship at all. "And the whole industry wanna f*ck yo’ old chick," he sings. "Only n*gga I got respect for is Wiz."
Rumor two: Kardashian broke Rose and Kanye up.
Yes, it appears that Kardashian did play a part in the split. "I’ll admit, I fell in love with Kim," Kanye confesses.
But Kanye's relationship with Kardashian didn't turn out as planned because she met Kris Humphries. "Round the same time she had fell in love wit’ him," Kanye says.
Kanye doesn't hold it against Kardashian though. "Well, that’s cool, baby girl, do ya thing," he says. "Lucky I ain’t have Jay drop ‘im from the team."
But he doesn't seem to like Humphries, and appears to take a direct swing at him. "La familia, Roc Nation / We in the buildin’, but still keep it basement / Flyer than the parakeet, floatin’ wit’ no parachute Six thousand-dollar pair of shoes, I made it to the Paris news," Kanye sings. "Don’t talk about style, ‘cause I embarrass you."
Kanye seems to want Humphries to know that just because Humphries owns Louis Vuitton shoes and plays basketball, that doesn't make him a somebody. Humphries will never be as famous as Kanye.
Kanye also seems to warn Humphries to stop attacking Kardashian in the news. "Shut the f*ck up when you talk to me ‘fore I embarrassed you G.O.O.D," Kanye states. "Music, we fresh, we fresh / Anything else, we detest, detest / B*tch-*ss n*ggas got *ss and breasts / All that said, lemme ask this quest'"
Wow. This is just my interpretation of the music. But, what do you think? Is Kanye directly confronting the problems surrounding his personal life? Listen to "Theraflu" below.
