Cher has been encouraging her son to lose weight by handing over $1,000 (£645) for every two pounds (0.9 kilograms) he drops. Chaz Bono has lost more than 43 pounds (19.5 kilograms) by embarking on a new healthy diet and exercise regime, and recently revealed he wants to lose another 40 pounds (18 kilograms).
Cher is keen to see her son succeed, so she has been offering a monetary reward for every pound dropped.
In a post on Twitter.com, the Believe hitmaker writes, "I'm paying him 1K a lb. 2 (to) lose weight... So he has made $65,000!"
R&B star Ray J was once rejected by Halle Berry after he asked the Oscar winner out on a date. The One Wish hitmaker, who dated Whitney Houston on and off before her tragic death, reveals he tried his luck with the Hollywood beauty shortly after her 2010 split from model Gabriel Aubry, while he was doing a little presenting at a red carpet event - but his advances were practically laughed off.
He tells U.S. talk show host Wendy Williams, "I tried to get with Halle Berry one time.
"She probably doesn't even remember because I was like hosting, asking her questions on the red carpet... This was maybe like three years ago, four years ago... I walked up to her and just was like, 'Yo, I know I just interviewed you, but you're so pretty, I would love to take you out on a date' and all she did was go, 'Aww'."
Berry went on to romance French hunk Olivier Martinez and the couple is now expecting its first child together.
Actress Gabourey Sidibe is celebrating her 30th birthday by flying to Europe to see Beyonce in concert this week (begs13May13). The Precious star marked the milestone on 6 May (13), but she spent her special day working on her latest film project in Los Angeles.
However, Sidibe is planning on celebrating her birthday in spectacular style by heading to Italy to see the Crazy in Love hitmaker's concert in Milan on Saturday (18May13).
Speaking to U.S. chat show host Wendy Williams, she says, "I had to shoot in L.A. and so I was shooting a movie and they threw me a birthday party which was really sweet but the real celebration happens this week - I'm going to Rome and then to Milan to see Beyonce in concert."
R&B star Ciara's relationship with rising rapper Future is heating up - the lovebirds now have each other's first initial tattooed on their ring fingers. The Goodies hitmaker recently opened up about her budding romance with the hip-hop star, real name Nayvadius Cash, and admitted she would love to start a family with her new beau.
Now the singer has revealed a new inking of the letter 'N' on her left hand, while Future has a similar tattoo of the letter 'C' on his.
During an appearance on America's The Wendy Williams Show on Wednesday (08May13), she said, "I'm very happy... I've always been so reserved... more private... (but) this day in my life, I'm so comfortable in my skin and I feel so good about where I am and I'm very confident and comfortable in the way he loves me... It's only gonna get better and better and better."
However, she wasn't ready to share everything about their relationship - when asked if the couple had discussed marriage, Ciara coyly said, "I don't know."
The singer previously dated rapper Bow Wow and was also linked to 50 Cent after appearing naked with him in her Can't Leave 'Em Alone video.
Paris Hilton has wedding bells ringing in her ears again after declaring she wants to settle down with her model beau River Viiperi and have kids. The 32-year-old former party girl insists her priorities have changed and now she wants to map out a life with her toy boy lover, who is 11 years younger than her.
In a TV interview for America's The Wendy Williams Show in New York, Hilton says, "I think that's every woman's dream. I think that's the meaning of life to have children and have a family one day."
And confessing she is "madly in love" with her model man, the reality TV star adds, "I feel so lucky to have met him. He's one of the kindest, most loyal men I've ever met in my entire life, and he treats me like a princess.
"He's the most beautiful man I've ever seen in my life."
But Viiperi needn't get his hopes too high - Hilton also cooed about former lovers Doug Reinhardt, Benji Madden and shipping heir Paris Latsis, who was briefly engaged to the socialite.
Top DJ Armin Van Buuren is set to become a father for the second time. The Dutch star, who was named the world's best DJ by DJ Mag in October (12), has revealed his wife Erika van Thiel is due to give birth to a sibling for their two-year-old daughter Fenna later this year (13).
Gushing about his wife, he tells U.S. talk show host Wendy Williams, "She's the big woman behind the small man."
The couple wed in 2009 after nine years of dating.
Sheryl Crow jumped at the chance to mentor wannabe singers with her country pal Blake Shelton on U.S. talent show The Voice after previously turning down an offer to be an original member of the reality judging panel. The All I Wanna Do singer reveals she was approached by TV bosses in 2010 to serve as one of four team leaders for the first season of the competition, but the Tennessee-based star turned down the gig because she feared she would struggle to handle the added responsibility on top of her job as a recording artist and a mum of two.
She tells U.S. talk show host Wendy Williams, "I actually was asked originally to be a judge on The Voice. I would have loved to have done it, but it's a massive commitment and I didn't want to move to L.A." Shelton, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green ended up fronting the first three seasons of The Voice, but Crow was invited back into the fold as a guest mentor for the current fourth season to help the Honey Bee hitmaker's group of hopefuls perfect their performances on the show. She adds, "I've been really fortunate."
Aguilera and Green stepped down from the programme last year (12) and were replaced by Shakira and Usher for the latest run of The Voice. Green is expected to return to his spinning chair for the fifth season of the show.
Friday, movie goers will have another Oz tale to fall in love with, just shy of 75 years after the original Wizard of Oz hit theaters. Oz the Great and Powerful gives us a different take on the classic tale, delivering the Emerald City's famous wizard (James Franco) as he becomes the man behind the curtain and meets the witches (Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, and Rachel Wiesz) who will later dictate the fate of one Dorothy Gale.

While it may appear that Disney's take on Oz is the first attempt at extending the Oz universe in pop culture, the merry old land of Oz has actually been spawned into so many filmic, televisual, and textual adaptations that the pieces can't even fit into one solid timeline (it's got at least three that run parallel to each other). But did you know that amongst those adaptations are Korean comic books, game shows, and even some mild pornographic cartoons? Well, there are. And for those who make it to the bottom, prepare to have your entire childhood completely ruined. Spoiler alert?
Here are the 22 Oz adaptations you didn't you needed (and a few no all-powerful wizard could erase from your fragile memory):
1. The One Where Dorothy is She-Hulk and The Cowardly Lion is Captain America.
The Avengers teamed up for Marvel's Fairy Tales series to tell the story of Dorothy's visit to Oz.
2. The One Inspired By Apocalypse Now.
Oh yeah, Heart of Darkness and Dorothy traipsing through Oz: totally the same thing. This is going to do some serious damage.

3. The Japanese Cartoon One That Takes Place in Space and Has the Best Theme Song Ever.
Alright, someone get me an MP3 of this cheestastic '80s theme. It's almost on Inspector Gadget level.
4. The One Where Dorothy Sounds Like Mickey Mouse.
This 1933 cartoon version makes Dorothy into a stout little cartoon lady who inexplicably has the same voice as every Silly Symphony character.
5. The One Where Dorothy Goes XXX.
The cover of Alan Moore's comic book Lost Girls looks innocent, but inside its placid binding are pages of X-rated material involving Dorothy, Alice (of Alice in Wonderland), and Wendy Darling (from Peter Pan) and their sexually explicit adventures — sometimes with each other. Consider your childhood tainted.
6. The One Where It's All In Turkish.
It's all about those dance sequences, starting with the one at 3:58.
7. The One Where Oz is a Text Adventure Video Game.
Rivetting stuff. And that beep-laden music, oh my!
8. The One Where Oz is a Metaphor Used for Self-Help Teachings.
Don't let "false wizards" tear your family apart. And never forget "there's no place like home." This is not a drill, folks.
9. The One Were It's an Australian Rock Opera.
Get it? Because they call Australia "Oz"? And it's rock 'n' roll because Dorothy is riding a motorcycle? Thank you for this incredible piece of cinema, 1976.
10. The One Where Dorothy is the Hero of a Korean Comic Book.
Okay angry nerds already formulating some comment for the bottom of this post, it's actually Manhwa but most people have no idea what that is. Anyway, Dorothy kicks some serious ass in these comics. She also looks like she is strangling that poor dog. Perhaps there's a darker storyline they're not advertizing here...
11. The One Where Sweet, Little Dorothy Gets Electroshock Therapy.
Because, you know, thinking you went to a land of munchkins, tin men, and flying monkeys is totally bonkers.
12. The One With Multiple Singing Dorothys
BBC's Over the Rainbow was a game show much like The Voice or American Idol aimed at finding a Dorothy and a Toto for the stage version of The Wizard of Oz. Sometimes it got a little creepy.
13. The Anime One Where Dorothy Looks Suspiciously Like Alice in Wonderland.
But really though, why isn't she the plucky little brunette we've come to know and love?
14. The One That's a Silent Movie of a Stageplay, Complete With Men Dressed as Donkeys and Cows.
Who knew a man in a cow suit could be so terrifying?
15. The One Starring Richard Dreyfus and Zooey Deschanel's Surprised Face.
Back when SyFy was spelled properly (SciFi) they gave us an alternate regular world story about a regular girl who gets into a regular supernatural pickle. Regular.
16. The One Where a Ginger Dorothy is the Lead Character in a Final Fantasy-style Video Game.
Just watch her and her trusty companions spin! There's nothing they can't do!
17. The One We Can't Post Here Because It's Too Disturbing.
Seriously. This is f**ked up. NSFW, duh.

Law & Order: SVU wanted you to know that their episode about a verbally, sexually, and physically abusive R&B star who beats his pop star girlfriend up was not based on Chris Brown and Rihanna. Because, at one point during Wednesday night's inexplicably star-studded episode (Jeffrey Tambor, what in the actual hell are you doing here playing not-Chris Brown's lawyer?!), someone jokes that not-Chris Brown Caleb Bryant (same initials!) and not-Rihanna Mischa Green "should go on a double date with Chris Brown and Rihanna." See, not the same people!
Nevermind the fact that the on-screen duo bears some obviously striking similarities to the real-life pair's drama: Caleb wears a s**t-eating grin the entire time, is racially insensitive (he refers to his lawyer as "his Jew", though if you were to summon a Jewish person at will and Jeffrey Tambor shows up, maybe you're doing something right), plays the victim card during his trial (where he gets a soft punishment of community service) while continuing to behave like a world class douche, gets a tattoo that resembles his abused girlfriend, and tweets out pictures from her bedroom. Meanwhile, the photos of a bruised and bloodied Mischa — who eventually winds up back in the arms of Caleb — go viral. How do we know they go viral? Because Perez Hilton, who takes time off from being a new dad to have one of the 73 truly bizarre cameos in this episode, tells us so.
RELATED: Rihanna Says Chris Brown Is Different Now
No, the episode is clearly meant to be a cautionary tale for Rihanna (because by the end of the episode not-Rihanna freakin' dies at the hands of fake not-Chris Brown, who had already murdered not-Rihanna's manager at a club) and Team Breezy. "Women and girls look up to you!" Mariska Hargitay cries to not-Rihanna, later foreshadowing, "Stranglers are more likely to kill." She also warned Mischa regarding abuse, "Men do this once, they do it again."
The whole thing would have felt pretty bleak and even more depressing than the real-life saga of Chris Brown and Rihanna had it not been for these key moments:
- Dave Navarro plays a guy at a music studio who clearly has no scruples or moral compass. So, himself.
- BAMF Sue Simmons makes a cameo as a newscaster covering Caleb's trial! Sue Simmons, for all of those that live outside of the New York metropolitan region, is a beloved newscaster who once dropped the F-bomb on live television. She is awesome.

- Wendy Williams plays a talk show host (so, herself) who asks not-Chris Brown about his relationship with not-Rihanna and also, "How you doin?"
- Law & Order's New York Post knock-off newspaper New York Ledger with their dead-on headline: "Beauty and the Beating." I have no doubt someone from the New York Post got fired for not thinking of that first.
- Ice-T interrupting Caleb and Mischa's terrible duet "You Can Count On Me" to show these young punks how it's really done. Okay, that didn't happen, but it should have.

Anyone who has ever been stuck on the couch on a rainy Saturday afternoon knows the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit formula: rip a story from the headlines (duh), pepper it with what we imagine really happened but were never told, and give it a good ending that makes us all believe in the "criminal justice system." Finally the show has gotten around to plugging Chris Brown and Rihanna into their formula.
'Law & Order: SVU' Turns 'Fifty Shades': How Other Shows Can Get In On the Act
Last night the show debuted its preview clip for the episode and it looks fantastic. I really hope the singers are named Brihanna and Kris Black. I can't wait to find out what the shocking twist is. Maybe it's that "Chris Brown" gets sent to a secluded island and left there for all time to think about what he's done. Wouldn't that be great? NBC describes the episode like this: "A promising singer is brutally attacked by her boyfriend, a popular hip hop star... but the victim refuses to aid the prosecution and, despite Detective Benson's (Mariska Hargitay) best efforts, continues to put herself in danger." Yup, that sounds like our RiRi.
What we don't see in the clip is that Jeffrey Tambor (of Arrested Development) plays "Brown's" lawyer and that Perez Hilton, Wendy Williams, and Dave Navarro (?) are always guest starring. I know we all usually just catch this on the USA reruns but maybe you should check out this the first time it actually airs on Wednesday, February 27. Watch the preview here:
