"If I beat Thor- I'm accepting the award shirtless on stage." Actor Zac Efron jokes about his nomination in the Best Shirtless Performance category at the upcoming MTV Movie Awards. He is up against hunky Thor star Chris Hemsworth.
Chris Evans takes on the unofficial role of party planner while filming The Avengers movies. The Captain America: The First Avenger actor appeared alongside Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey, Jr. and Mark Ruffalo in the 2012 superhero movie, and they are now back together again filming the upcoming sequel.
As one of the only single actors on the set, Evans sees it as his job to round everybody up for work parties.
The 32-year-old actor tells Britain's Glamour magazine, "You're like 'Come on, guys, this is great! This isn't going to last forever and this is a really fun group of people doing a really fun thing. Let's go get drunk!' I try to be the motivating force. Everyone's married and has kids and s**t like that, so I'm still the one single guy going, 'Come on, shots!'"
The cast reunited in February (14) to begin filming the sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Thor star Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky were stunned to learn the actress was expecting twins less than 18 months after their first daughter was born. The couple welcomed baby India in May, 2012 and although the two stars were keen to extend their family, they were shocked to learn their brood is to triple in size within a matter of months.
Spanish actress Pataky tells British magazine Hello!, "We were in shock! On the one hand we were excited but we were also wondering, 'How are we going to cope?' We're a bit nervous but very happy and we think it's going to be fun and incredible, because relationships between twins are very special...
"Everything (is doubled), including the size of my belly! I look at it and go, 'I'm going to turn into a ball and bounce down the stairs!'... (But) I haven't wanted to know the sex of the twins in case I obsessed. With two, there's a bigger chance of a boy, so I hope so."
Kevin Spacey, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Queen Latifah and Christoph Waltz helped U.S. talk show host Jimmy Kimmel turn popular YouTube.com videos into hilarious new film trailers on Sunday (02Mar14). As part of the comedian's annual Jimmy Kimmel Live! post-Oscars special, the TV host recruited Australian acting brothers Chris and Liam Hemsworth to shoot a big screen version of 2007 viral video Charlie Bit My Finger in a movie titled Bitman Begins.
Streep played the brawling siblings' mother, while Hanks portrayed a hooded monk looking out for Liam.
Another fake film preview featured Queen Latifah as Kimberly 'Sweet Brown' Wilkins, who rose to Internet fame in 2012 after giving an interview to a local news station in Oklahoma about her escape from an apartment fire, while Joseph Gordon-Levitt led the cast in an amusing movie adaptation as David, a youngster who begins to hallucinate from the anaesthesia he was given for dental surgery.
That trailer starred Catherine Zeta-Jones as the tooth fairy and Samuel L. Jackson as a mad dentist.
However, the best clip, a take on Amadeus the piano-playing cat, was saved until last, and starred Kevin Spacey, dressed in a giant cat costume, as Ameowdeus, while Christoph Waltz donned a furry white suit to play a scheming hamster.
The bizarre 'trailer' also featured appearances from Sir Ben Kingsley, Mandy Patinkin, Gary Oldman and Abbie Cornish.
Work on the new Avengers movie in the U.K. reportedly ground to a halt this week (beg10Feb14) after a flooding scare at the studio in Surrey. Filming on Avengers: Age of Ultron, starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Hemsworth, has begun in South Africa ahead of a planned shoot at Shepperton Studios in Surrey, England later this year (14).
Members of the cast were due to attend the studio for camera tests and costume fittings this week (beg10Feb14), but the appointments were cancelled due to severe flooding in the area, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper.
The town of Shepperton has been devastated by the floods which have left much of the U.K. underwater this month (Feb14).
Police issued a warning to motorists in Johannesburg, South Africa this week (beg10Feb14) after a number of roads were closed when The Avengers movie shoot came to town. The superhero sequel, starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Hemsworth, was due to begin filming in the South African city on Monday (10Feb14), but the first day of the shoot was cancelled for unspecified reasons.
Avengers: Age of Ultron was back on track on Tuesday (11Feb14), but local police were forced to issue warnings to motorists to advise them of the disruption as around five streets were blocked off for the movie crew.
Johannesburg police's Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar says, "The public is requested to exercise patience and use alternative roads in the meantime."
The crew is expected to spend two weeks filming in South Africa before moving the shoot to Italy and Britain.

Valentine’s Day can be grating when you’re single. Restaurants jack up prices, people fail to pull off the color red, and everyone is fixated on love. It’s time to reclaim February 14 and celebrate Single’s Awareness Day. The fact that it bears the acronym S.A.D. is purely coincidental. If you’re looking for a day free from romance, Valentine, and reminders of your partner-less existence, why not get cozy with these movies? They have been selected for their distinct level of awesome and lack of amour.
The Avengers It may be more than a year before The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron hits theaters. Why not re-watch this epic superhero film, or catch it for the first time? There aren’t any cheesy romantic subplots. There are a couple fleeting moments of people in relationship,s but the action, snark, and dead Chitauri make up for it. It helps that the cast is chock full of lookers, including Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, who also deliver in butt-kicking action.
Hansel & Gretel: Witch HuntersThis is the movie you might never have an occasion to watch but you won’t want to miss. Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton play a fresh take on the storybook brother and sister. Slightly anachronistic and chock full of witch wounding weaponry, this movie is a future cult movie that blends horror, action, and the right level of cheese. The other bright side: there’s no love story. Just some heartwarming sibling companionship.
This Is the EndIf you’ve been told you wouldn’t be considered as a mate even if you were the last person on Earth, this is the movie for you. This apocalyptic comedy finds James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, and their friends trying to navigate the post-Rapture Hell on Earth. This comedy features bizarre cameos by almost everyone in Hollywood (mostly really just Judd Apatow’s Rolodex, though), and offers nothing close to romance except the special relationship between a man and his co-dependent friends.
Identity ThiefLaugh the pain away with this hilarious buddy comedy. Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy have bizarre chemistry and best of all it’s in no way relationship-based. This was one of the most popular movies of 2013. If you haven’t seen it you may want to look into real estate that isn’t under a rock. Why eat an entire chocolate cake while crying when you can binge on the laughter of McCarthy, the soon-to-be-crowned Queen of Comedy?
ClueThis cult classic deserves an annual watching, so why not make it Single’s Awareness Day? This film adaptation of the popular board game came ages before Hollywood decided to make a movie out of everything (lest we forget Battleship). This comedy is full of murder, mystery, and Tim Curry. It’s highly quotable and deviously hilarious.
The Cabin in the WoodsA horror movie on V-Day might be a little cliché. This revisionist take on the genre is hard to pass up. It’s also a little hard to classify since so much changes. Why not opt for something to engage your adrenaline and your mind. Plus, it’s from the genius mind of Joss Whedon. What more could you ask for?
PathologyIf sex and violence are you bag, enjoy this dark thriller about a bunch of forensic students that get addicted to performing the perfect murder. It stars the sexy Milo Ventimiglia, Alyssa Milano, and Lauren Lee Smith. It's super angsty and emo, so feel free to let out your inner-Goth kid and enjoy this twisted psychological drama.
Kill Bill - Vol. 1 & 2If you’re feeling super resentful, annoyed, or just plain pissed off, why not watch both of these classic Quentin Tarantino films? Uma Thurman gets tons of vengeance so let her dispose of your ex…in your head at least. Plus, there’s nothing more relaxing than the dulcet tones of a Hatori Hanzo setting a score. The entire movie is set on killing the worst possible ex so why not get it out of your system.
The acting Hemsworth brothers, Liam and Chris, are big hits at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia without even being there - U.S. ice skater Ashley Wagner has confessed to a huge crush on The Hunger Games' hunk Liam, and medal-winning Canadian sisters Justine and Chloe Dufour-Lapointe are mad about Thor star Chris.
British actor Gary Oldman turned down a role in Thor because he thought he was too young to play the superhero's father. The Dark Knight star was approached for the role of ageing ruler Odin in the 2011 blockbuster opposite Chris Hemsworth as the hammer-wielding hero.
However, Oldman has now revealed he snubbed the part and it went to Sir Anthony Hopkins instead.
He tells Britain's The Independent newspaper, "I don't want to be playing Thor's dad just yet. They asked me to do that one and I said 'No, I'm far too young for that.' I wasn't going to run around with the grey beard going 'Son, you will be cursed'... I'm still a bit too sprightly for that stuff."
British actor Paul Bettany is joining the ranks of Marvel superheroes after he was cast as The Vision in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron. The Da Vinci Code star will step into the spotlight to play the android in the new movie after previously staying behind the scenes in the Marvel universe, voicing Iron Man's computer, JARVIS, in the three installments of the Robert Downey Jr. led franchise, as well as in 2012's The Avengers.
Bettany joins fellow superheroes in Age of Ultron, including Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to hit cinemas in May, 2015.

Tall, muscular and exceptionally handsome, Australian actor Chris Hemsworth became a star in the U. S. with a series of well-received genre films. He was a household name in his native country while starring on the popular drama series, "Home and Away" (7 Network, 1988- ), playing an opinionated student navigating his way through high school in a seaside town. He quickly became a sci-fi sensation across the pond with a brief but memorable role in the J.J. Abrams reboot of the worldwide phenomenon "Star Trek" (2009) as Capt. James T. Kirk's ill-fated father. But it was not until he landed the lead role in the film version of the comic book hero "Thor" (2011) - beating out his younger brother, fellow heartthrob Liam, in the process - that Hemsworth truly flexed his muscles, establishing himself as one of the most charismatic young actors of the moment. Lionsgate films quickly capitalized on Hemsworth's popularity by releasing the long-delayed horror feature "The Cabin in the Woods" (2012), co-written by Joss Whedon. Ironically, it was Whedon who later directed the young star in the superhero blockbuster "The Avengers" (2012), the culmination of "Thor" and Marvel Studios' other franchise films. As talented as he was attractive, Hemsworth was without a doubt, a leading man to watch.
