Rapper Iggy Azalea is set to make her television hosting debut on MTV's fashion series House Of Style. The Fancy hitmaker is bringing her own unique style to the reboot of the popular TV programme, which gives viewers an inside look at the latest trends in fashion.
Azalea shares her excitement for the new gig in a statement which reads: "I am so excited to bring back this iconic show for another generation of teenagers.
"The biggest impact that House of Style had on pop culture is its ability to make fashion fun and interesting to fans who are both diehard fashionistas or not at all."
Over the eight-episode season, Azalea will seek out the latest street style trends and tour music video sets with the likes of Rita Ora and designer Jeremy Scott.
The new House of Style series will premiere in the U.S. on 4 August (14).
Azalea will also co-host the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show on 24 August (14), and the ceremony's fashion recap following the prizegiving.
The popular MTV series originally ran from 1989 to 2000, with supermodel hosts including Cindy Crawford, Rebecca Romijn and Molly Sims.
British pop star Rita Ora is reportedly moving on from her split from DJ Calvin Harris by romancing the rapper son of U.S. fashion mogul Tommy Hilfiger.
The I Will Never Let You Down hitmaker, 23, sparked rumours of a new romance with Ricky Hil after they were spotted holding hands while dining at Nobu in London on Saturday night (05Jul14), before heading to the Drury Club to party.
Hil, 24, has also been showing off his blossoming relationship with Ora with images on his Instagram.com page, uploading a picture of the rumoured couple cuddling for a snap last week (ends04Jul14).
A source tells Britain's Mirror newspaper, "They really hit it off when they met and really like each other, so Rita invited him over (to Europe) to join her. They want to see where things might take them - they're just having a lot of fun."
Ora and Scottish dance star Harris announced their on/off romance was over for good in early June (14), confessing they had called time on the relationship "some time ago". She previously dated Kim Kardashian's younger brother Rob.
Kim Kardashian's brother Rob sent gossip bloggers into a spin on America's Independence Day (04Jul14) by tweeting about a mystery son he'd fathered. The reality TV star took to Twitter.com on the eve of the big holiday and wrote about spending the 4th of July with his "little man".
He quickly deleted the tweet but not before it was picked up by online news outlets.
Reports at the end of last year (13) suggested Rob had a secret four-year-old son in Miami, Florida, but he had never confirmed the story.
As gossips tried to find out more about his mystery son, Kardashian, who previously dated Rita Ora, returned to Twitter.com early on Friday to reveal he was joking.
He wrote, "Those who know me know I play and I do NOT have a Son. Y'all got my mama emailing me asking if I have a Son lol goodness hahaha."
Rita Ora's new single Black Widow has become a girl power collaboration - the track features a chorus written by Katy Perry and Iggy Azalea joins the Brit on the record. The Australian rapper let it slip that she would be rapping for Ora is a new interview, revealing she'll also appear in the song's video.
She says, "We're gonna have a very crazy music video, with a lot of other people that you guys may know, playing different characters. I'm really excited about it."
Ora also teamed up with Azalea to perform the track at London's Wireless Festival on Friday (04Jul14).
The new song will be released in September (14).
Prince looks set to finally take a bow at Britain's iconic Glastonbury Festival this weekend (28-29Jun14) as rumours of a surprise appearance heat up. The Purple Rain star pulled out of talks to headline the fabled music event in Somerset, England earlier this year (14) after the news leaked online, and he was replaced by British rockers Kasabian in the Sunday night (29Jun14) closing slot.
Festival founder Michael Eavis insisted Prince was no longer in the running to perform at the event, but multiple reports in the British press suggest Prince is now gearing up for a surprise appearance at the festival on Sunday.
The reports state that Prince is planning to perform a small set away from the main stage, alongside pop star Rita Ora, who he recently collaborated with.
A source tells The Sun newspaper, "He has loved playing the small gigs over the past few months and, even though he got offered the main headline spot, he's now decided to pop up as a surprise... standard Prince style. Rita is over the moon to be going on stage with him, understandably."
Young singer Danielle Curiel, who has worked with Prince on a number of projects, fuelled the gossip about a potential Glastonbury performance with the superstar by hinting about a "huge surprise" in a post on her Instagram.com page, writing, "We have a HUGE SURPRISE and can't wait to tell the world what's gonna happen next with us!"
The message was retweeted on Prince's 3rdEyeGirl Twitter.com page.
Previous rumours suggested Glastonbury revellers would be treated to a secret set by British rockers The Libertines.
Pop star Rita Ora details her failed relationship with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris in her new music. The R.I.P. star dated Harris for a year before their split was confirmed earlier this month (Jun14), and she has now cited the romance as the main inspiration behind her upcoming second album.
Ora reveals her new songs detail her "life story" from the time she met Harris, covering their initial infatuation up until the end of the relationship.
She tells Australian Radio host Kent 'Smallzy' Small on Nova FM, "I just knew I wanted to do an honest, vulnerable, love album... I had an amazing experience with a feeling of love and it was probably one of the biggest inspirations for this record... It was a big inspiration for this record. You can tell... from the first track to the 12th... that it's a build. It went from me walking into the studio single to me being in a relationship and talking about the honeymoon period and feeling incredible and nothing they do can go wrong to me figuring it out that... then it dies down and... then, you still don't have to be afraid of love. And you can still have hope in it... Whatever age you are. It's what that's about. It's the story, you hear it in the record. It actually is my life story."
The currently untitled record is expected to be released in the autumn (14).
R&B superstar Prince has recruited British pop singer Rita Ora to record an unlikely rap song for his next album. The Purple Rain hitmaker recently invited Minnesota Star Tribune reporter Jon Bream to a late night listening session at his Paisley Park home in Minneapolis, where he treated the journalist to samples of tracks he has been working on for his first solo album since 2009's LotusFlow3r.
Bream gave readers an insight into the tunes in an article posted on Monday (23Jun14), describing the Ora collaboration as a "rare rap song on which the music was as aggressive and menacing as the rapping".
During the visit, Prince, who is signed to Warner Music Group, also shared his frustration with the process of releasing an album through the traditional label system, lamenting, "Every number one song, every Top 10 song, every song in the Top 40 is at least six months old. We should be able to make music and put it out now."
The title and release date for the album remain unknown, but Prince suggested fans may be treated to an early release of the Ora single sooner rather than later because he claims with her, "Time is money".
Sam Smith's fans were left devastated on Saturday (21Jun14) when the pop sensation pulled out of the Capital Summertime Ball in London after losing his voice. The Stay With Me hitmaker was among the headliners set to thrill revellers at Wembley Stadium in the U.K. capital for the radio station's annual concert.
However, Smith cancelled his appearance just hours before he was due on stage after struggling with voice issues.
In a post on his official Facebook.com page, he writes, "Dear Capital FM & everyone attending the Capital Summertime Ball, I am so so sad to say I won't be performing today. I've just got off the plane and my voice has completely gone.
"This is the first show I've ever had to cancel and I am praying that it is the last. I really have to avoid any long term damage to my voice."
Miley Cyrus, Enrique Iglesias, Cheryl Cole, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding and Jessie J were among the performers who made it to the stage for the show.
Disney star Zendaya Coleman has landed second major role in a week after Madonna named the teen the latest face of her fashion brand Material Girl. The 17-year-old Shake It Up! actress' new gig was announced on Thursday (19Jun14), as new ads featuring Coleman modelling Material Girl designs on Brooklyn's famous Coney Island boardwalk were unveiled.
The queen of pop praised the teen actress in a statement which reads: "Zendaya exudes a confident, free spirit. We love having her as the new face of Material Girl," while her daughter Lourdes Leon, who also makes design decisions for the company, also gushed over the brand's new spokesperson, adding, "I love how Zendaya makes her own style rules to fit her personality - that's who Material Girl is all about, being yourself to the fullest".
Coleman follows in the footsteps of previous Material Girl models Rita Ora, Taylor Momsen and Georgia May Jagger.
Earlier this week (beg16Jun14), the actress/singer snagged the role of tragic R&B singer Aaliyah in an upcoming TV biopic.
Mexican movie star Diego Luna has stepped behind the camera to direct a new video to accompany a remix of Rita Ora's new single I Will Never Let You Down. The song was recorded for the Pepsi Beats of the Beautiful Game album, released to coincide with the soccer World Cup.
In his short film, Luna captures "the power sport has to bring joy and youthfulness to a community".
Ora admits she's a big fan of her own song - and the Switch remix: "I love that the increased pace in this recording sounds a bit like a football stadium during a big match: a blend of unique sounds that come together in celebration."
