Embattled actress Amanda Bynes stunned fans on Sunday (26May13) by taking aim at Rihanna in a string of shocking Twitter.com messages. The Hairspray star, who was arrested in New York City on Thursday (23May13) after cops allegedly found drugs at her home, took to her page on the site to fire off a tweet mocking the Umbrella hitmaker's appearance.
She stated, "Rihanna you look so ugly tryin (sic) to be white."
Bynes then referenced the singer's infamous 2009 fight with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, which left her bloodied and bruised, adding, "Chris brown beat you because you're not pretty enough."
She continued, "Rihanna no one wants to be your lover so you call everyone and their mother that I almost named my new dog Rihanna."
It is unknown if the Bajan beauty saw the tweets, but she later wrote on the site, "Ya see what happens when they cancel Intervention?" - a nod to recently cancelled U.S. show Intervention, which helps addicts address their issues.
However, Bynes shot back at the message, writing, "unlike ur (your) fugly (f**king ugly) faced self I don't do drugs! U need the intervention dog! I met ur ugly face in person! U aren't pretty u know it!"
The tweets by Bynes have since been deleted.
The 27 year old's messages came just a day after she took to the site to claim she was mistreated by one of the cops who arrested her on Thursday. Police have launched an investigation into the allegations.
Bynes was charged on suspicion of marijuana possession, attempted tampering with physical evidence and reckless endangerment, after allegedly throwing a bong out of the window of her 36th-storey apartment in Manhattan.
Police have launched an investigation into Amanda Bynes' allegations she was mistreated by one of the cops who arrested her in New York on Thursday (23May13). The Hairspray star was taken into custody and later charged on suspicion of marijuana possession, attempted tampering with physical evidence and reckless endangerment, after allegedly throwing a bong out of the window of her 36th-storey apartment in Manhattan.
She later took to Twitter.com to rant about her arrest, and Bynes claims she was treated badly by one of the police officers.
In an extended post on the microblogging website, the troubled star writes, "Don't believe the reports about me being arrested. It's all lies. I was sexually harassed by one of the cops the night before last which is who then arrested me. He lied and said I threw a bong out the window when I opened the window for fresh air. Hilarious. He slapped my vagina. Sexual harassment. Big deal. I then called the cops on him. He handcuffed me, which I resisted, quite unlike any of the reports stated. Then I was sent to a mental hospital. Offensive. I kept asking for my lawyer but they wouldn't let me. The cops were creepy. The cop sexually harassed me, they found no pot on me or bong outside my window."
A spokesperson for the New York Police Department (NYPD) has now confirmed they are investigating Bynes' allegations, telling The Hollywood Reporter that members of the NYPD's Internal Affairs Bureau are probing the claim.
Bynes, who was taken to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation after her arrest, was released on her own recognisance after appearing in court in Manhattan on Friday morning (24May13).

On Friday evening, the actress was back at home and back on Twitter, where she has been posting odd messages and topless photos of herself in recent weeks, and tweeted, "I only smoke tobacco I don't drink or do drugs."
And addressing her arrest, she added, "I've never had a bong in my life!"
Bynes then took aim at her booking photo, for which she had to remove her wig, writing, "I need to get another nose job after seeing my mugshot!"
