The cast of hit TV drama Pretty Little Liars received a visit from very special guest on Thursday (19Jun14), when the youngest daughter of U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama stopped by the Los Angeles set. Sasha Obama, 13, and a friend got the chance to hang out with the stars and chat to them in between filming, reports TMZ.com. The teen's trip took place days after it emerged her older sister Malia had landed a week-long gig working as a production assistant on Halle Berry's new TV show Extant.
U.S. President Barack Obama's eldest daughter reportedly served as a production assistant for a day on the set of Halle Berry's new TV series Extant.
Malia - who turns 16 on America's Independence Day (04Jul14) - has seemingly set her sights on working behind the scenes in Hollywood, and paid a visit to the Los Angeles set of the new sci-fi show.
According to TheWrap.com, First Lady Michelle Obama accompanied Malia to the CBS Studios as the teen helped with re-shoots of the Extant pilot, assisting with computer alignments, and the director even let her use a production slate before a take.
President Obama, Michelle and Malia continued their stay in Southern California by spending Father's Day (15Jun14) in the desert city of Rancho Mirage.
WENN/WENNWhile most film premieres appear to be an excuse for celebs to show off their designer outfits and gain a few extra column inches of free publicity, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has advance screenings more likely to be attended by those far more interested in the adventures of Katniss, Peeta and co. than posing for photographers on the red carpet. Here's a look at five of the biggest famous fans of the big-screen phenomenon.Kristen BellPossibly the most committed Hunger Games fan, Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell threw a Hunger Games-themed birthday party back in July 2010, dressing head-to-toe in spandex with a fire cape, bow and arrow as well as installing a bouncy castle named The Capitol.Bill GatesSurely the most unlikely Hunger Games celebrity fan, the richest man in the world admitted that the first book in the trilogy was the last novel that he had read after sharing his summer reading list earlier this year.Sasha & Malia ObamaAfter attending the White House Correspondents' Dinner alongside Elizabeth Banks last year, star Josh Hutcherson revealed his excitement on learning that both of President Barack Obama's daughters were big fans of the series.Emily BluntThe British actress joked last year that she wishes she had been young enough to play Katniss after revealing that she was equally riveted and terrified by the novels.Andy CohenThe Bravo host questioned whether he was now a tween after reading The Hunger Games from cover to cover while he later admitted to getting goosebumps after watching the trailer for the first film.
America's First Lady Michelle Obama has joined the Instagram craze to share snaps of her trip to Africa with followers. U.S. President Barack Obama's wife has started up an account on the social network, and her first image, published on Thursday (27Jun13), was a photo of herself with daughter Malia.
The caption reads, "My first instagram! So inspired and so impressed by these extraordinary young women (in Africa)."
Michelle is accompanying the President on an official tour of Senegal, Tanzania, and South Africa, where they are due to visit ailing former President Nelson Mandela. The 94 year old has been in hospital since 8 June (13) with a lung infection.
Irish rocker and philanthropist Bono enjoyed a very special lunch date this week (begs17Jun13) after inviting U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama to join him for lunch at his favourite local pub. The U2 frontman and his wife Ali closed down Finnegan's of Dalkey in his native Dublin for the private event as Obama and her two daughters, Sasha and Malia, arrived for the meal, but they weren't alone - around 60 other guests were also in attendance for the luncheon.
Dishes on the menu included fish and chips, cottage pie and smoked bacon, and the owners of the family-run pub even made an extra effort to make the Obamas feel at home by hanging an American flag above the main entrance.
Addressing the high-profile lunch meeting, Bono says, "We talked about everything and nothing. It was a family lunch."
U.S. President Barack Obama was not in attendance at the meal as he was meeting with world leaders at the G8 Summit in neighbouring Northern Ireland.
Could we be any more in love with President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama? Yes, as a matter of fact, we can.
Thanks to an interview with the impossibly charming First Couple in the April issue of Vogue, we get a candid glimpse into the lives of the POTUS and the FLOTUS so heart-wrenchingly perfect that an audible "aww" is the requisite response to half of the article's content — especially that picture-perfect photo above. And while President Obama's mentions of his beautiful wife through his 2012 Presidential campaign and numerous images of the handsome couple thoroughly enjoying each other's company have made us swoon since Obama became president in January 2009, nothing's given us quite the right amount of evidence for our fervent obsession until now, as the couple explains just how they keep their rock solid marriage so solid.

"As I joked at a press conference, now that [our daughters] want less time with us, who knows? Maybe you’ll see us out in the clubs," says the President, speaking about what he and Mrs. Obama will do now that their girls, Sasha and Malia, are growing up. "Saturday night! ... The kids are out with their friends. Let’s go party!" jokes the FLOTUS. If the image of Mr. and Mrs. Obama shaking their groove thangs (they are still over the age of 45, after all) at what we can assume is a jazz club (they're not exactly going to be hitting up Karma on the Jersey Shore) isn't making your heart flutter and giggle all at the same time, you should probably check that your heart is still in good working order.
As the interview continues, the sense that Michelle and Barack are the Beyoncé and Jay-Z of the political world only heightens (in part because the President refers to Michelle as his Beyoncé, because she "upgraded" him). But because it's not yet Friday and we all need a reason to have our faith in romance restored, here are five reasons, straight from the president and first lady themselves, that we just can't stop loving the First Couple:
RELATED: Is It Sexist to Worship Michelle Obama's Look?
Michelle Still Teases Him About His Crappy Old Apartment: "That place caught on fire ... And I was like, I told you it was a dump," says the first lady.
They Actually Go To Sasha and Malia's Games and Performances: "Sasha plays basketball with her little team at a community center in my neighborhood ... there are no bleachers or anything—parents are just standing on the sidelines. And that’s an experience that the president has, just like all those other parents," says former White House communications director Anita Dunn.
The President Thinks Michelle is a 'Good Mom,' But Not in a 1950s Way: "But I think it would be a mistake to think that my wife, when I walk in the door, is, Hey, honey, how was your day? Let me give you a neck rub. It’s not as if Michelle is thinking in terms of, How do I cater to my husband? I think it’s much more, We’re a team, and how do I make sure that this guy is together enough that he’s paying attention to his girls and not forgetting the basketball game that he’s supposed to be going to on Sunday?" says the POTUS.

They Learn From Each Other: "Well, patience and calm I’m borrowing,” says the First Lady. “Or trying to mirror. I’ve learned that from my husband, that sort of, you know, ability to not get too high or too low with changes and bumps in the road . . . to do more breathing in and just going with it," says Mrs. Obama.
And Because It's Amazing, Let's Just Think About That Beyonce Reference One More Time: "Michelle’s like Beyoncé in that song ... ‘Let me upgrade ya!’ She upgraded me," says the president.

Michelle Obama, of the fabulous new haircut and perfectly tailored wardrobe, doesn't just turn heads every time she steps out in public, she makes headlines. Not since Jackie Kennedy Onassis have we had a First Lady so well known for her good fashion choices (sorry, Hillary, your headbands just don't cut it). The proof: Anything she puts on her body sells out in stores instantly. Designer Tracy Reese got a sales boost after Michelle wore one of her designs to the Democratic National Convention, a knockoff version of the brocade Michael Kors dress Michelle wore on election night sold out in two days, and now you'd be hard-pressed to find the J. Crew belt she wore to the inauguration anywhere.
Looking to steal another of Michelle's looks? Her inauguration outfits are a good place to start.
The Swearing In
For Barack Obama's official swearing in ceremony, which took place on Sunday, Michelle was dressed in Reed Krakoff. Michelle chose a demure cardigan and a royal blue dress with a slight sheen. She finished off her professional look with low black pumps.
Following Sunday's swearing in, Michelle changed into a black sparkly Michael Kors dress that hit her just below the knee for a reception at the National Building Museum.
The Big Day
For Monday's festivities, Michelle bundled up in a coat custom made for the FLOTUS by designer Thom Browne. Michelle jazzed up her coat with a bejeweled belt by J. Crew. Later in the day, Michelle removed the coat to reveal a matching Thom Browne silk jacquard navy and gray dress topped with another Reed Krakoff cardigan.
Dance the Night Away
For the Commander-in-Chief's Ball Monday evening, Michelle returned to one of her go-to designers, Jason Wu. Wu — who also designed the white gown Michelle wore to the ball in 2009 — created a flowing red gown for the First Lady that nipped in at Michelle's natural waist.
A fashion post about the inauguration would be remiss not to include the adorable looks put together by Malia and Sasha Obama, aged 14 and 11 respectively. The First Daughters color-coordinated in magenta and eggplant, with Malia in a J. Crew coat and dress while Sasha opted for head-to-toe Kate Spade.
Four years ago, Michelle wore a custom Isabel Toledo coat and dress in lemongrass yellow, and then changed into the now-famous one-shouldered white Jason Wu gown for the ball.

The yellow one at the top of the White House Christmas tree was not the only star in the vicinity at this year's annual White House Christmas tree-lighting ceremony. The first family was joined by some of Hollywood's finest for the event.
Modern Family's Rico Rodriguez joined the First Lady Michelle Obama for a reading of the Christmas classic poem "A Visit From St. Nicholas," more popularly known as "'Twas the Night Before Christmas." Rodriguez even joked that he would be joining the Obamas on their holiday vacation in Hawaii. Now, that's one modern family outing we'd like to see!
How I Met Your Mother's Neil Patrick Harris hosted the event, welcoming Barack, Michelle, and their two daughters Sasha and Malia to the stage. Is it just us, or does it look like Harris is giving the POTUS a once-over? We can't blame him — that man is one fine prez.
Barack led the countdown, and then his daughters pressed the button to light up the big tree as the 17,000 people in attendance oohed and ahhed. The event also featured festive musical performances from Jason Mraz, Phillip Phillips, James Taylor, and Babyface.

The U.S. leader and First Lady Michelle Obama, along with the couple's daughters, Sasha and Malia, kicked off the festive season in the city by lighting up the decorated blue spruce.
How I Met Your Mother star Harris hosted the event, which attracted 17,000 revellers, and a host of celebrity guests, including Modern Family star Rico Rodriguez, singer Jason Mraz and musician James Taylor.
The political family and its guests led the crowds in a rendition of Christmas classic Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.
Taking to his Twitter.com page at the end of the night, Harris told fans, "Still can't believe I just hosted the Nat'l Tree Lighting Ceremony. A true once in a lifetime. Fun, too, to stare at the rest of the crowd."
Every year, a parade of prancing pups vies for the ultimate doggy honor: Best in Show at the National Dog Show. And every year, it’s some gorgeous canine who is likely the envy of every family on the owner’s block. But hey, there are a lot of great pups out there and it gets lonely at the top. Naturally, we’ve found a few pop culture pups to join this year's winner — Sky, the Wire Fox Terrier — at the top!
Most Literary Dog: Uggie
This year, Uggie (The Artist) pawed his way to a book deal and barked his life story to a biographer for Uggie: My Story. It’s not quite as vibrant as his adorable toe-tapping antics on the big screen, but sometimes a pup’s got to use his brain too!
Best Undead Pup: Frankenweeine
This one’s a double whammy. Not only is this adorable cartoon pup actually resurrected from the dead, he’s also a character brought back to life from Tim Burton’s original, live-action version of the film Frankenweenie. Plus, he’s the cuddliest reanimated dog we’ve ever seen. Bonus points!
Most Athletic Dog: The Dog from the Volkswagen Super Bowl Commercial
How many dogs are so dedicated to getting in shape that they’d resist hot dog pieces falling from the sky? Not any dog I’ve ever met. This guy’s got panache and will power, and just look at him run! He’s no Darth Vader kid, but he gets our vote for the fittest pop culture pup!
Most Presidential Dog: Bo
President Obama’s adorable Portuguese Water Dog has it all: He’s hypoallergenic (for Malia’s sake!), he’s well-bred, he’s fluffy, and he’s always smiling. Plus, his dad (as those of us who are crazy dog owners often call a pup’s owner) was just reelected as President of the United States. Bo’s having a pretty good year, and he’s only four years old! Plus, it’s because of Bo that we have this adorable video of Obama giving him a belly rub. Somebody GIF that heartbreakingly adorable moment – stat!
Best Dog Who is Actually a Human: Armie Hammer
After Julia Roberts’ evil queen accidentally feeds him “Puppy Love” potion, Hammer’s prince becomes a big, handsome puppy of a man. He even plays fetch! Somehow, he’s still incredibly handsome throughout all this…
Bravest Dog in the Presence of Various Psychopaths: Bonny The Shih Tzu
What happens when you put one of the fluffiest, girliest pups in the middle of a pack of psychopaths? She melts your cold, cold heart. In a film that’s as violent as it is hilarious, Bonny is a ray of adorable sunshine (and the object of Woody Harrelson’s aggressive affection) – even if she does have to compete with Tom Waits’ disconcerting rabbit.
Best Dog Doing Something Stupidly Cute on the Internet: Bo the Bulldog and Willow
It’s a tie! In one corner, we have Bo, the bulldog who just wants to sit in this box. Shut up. He doesn’t have time for your reservations about his ability to fit. He needs to sit in this box and you just need to go back to your desk and stop bothering him already.
In corner number two, we have Willow. She’s a cute, fluffy dog popping out of a giant pile of leaves. And guess what? She finds that freaking ball. She’s kind of my hero.
Best Dog Who Is Actually a Cat: Lil’ Bub
This is not a dog. It’s a cat. But he’s so fantastic, he merits a spot on this list. He’s a fantastic, toothless little weirdo!
