She'll perform in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle during the Concert In The Gardens, as part of a nine-date U.K. tour.
Allen says, "I've always wanted to spend Hogmanay in Scotland so the fact that I get to do it this year, but performing on stage in front of a whole load of people up for the best time, makes it extra special."
Allen has just completed a run of U.S. shows as support to Miley Cyrus. Her U.K. tour will begin in November (14).
He’s Dr. Sheldon Cooper, B.S., M.S., M.A., Ph.D, and Sc.D. OMG, right? The word they use to describe him is quirky. But, you know you love every single one of those quirks.

British pop star Lily Allen has dismissed rumours her marriage is on the rocks. The Smile hitmaker sparked speculation that her relationship with husband Sam Cooper is in trouble after she was pictured without her wedding ring on an outing with her ex-boyfriend Seb Chew in Missouri this week (beg11Aug14).
The band was also noticeably absent from her left hand when she performed at the Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary on Thursday (14Aug14).
Reports suggested the three-year marriage is crumbling, but Allen has moved to silence the claims by uploading a picture on Instagram.com on Friday (15Aug14) showing her hand adorned with her engagement ring and wedding band.
Allen and Cooper have been married since 2011 and are parents to two daughters.
Liam or Harry? Niall or Zayn? We can't forget about Louis. Who do you choose?! Believe me, it is a TOUGH decision. Why should we have to choose between 5 beautiful men? They're all equally wonderful. And they have accents. It's not fair to choose. But if you have to, I can help. After seeing them in Philadelphia on their Where We Are tour (Thanks Sony!) I have ample evidence to support each guy.
Here are your reasons, starting from youngest to oldest:
Harry Styles (2/1/1994)
He’s not afraid of being goofy, like at all.
He will PROPOSE to you if you show up to the concert in a wedding dress.
His dancing is a strange mix of wiggling his legs while pointing his fingers.
*** On August 13th, 2014, he took his headband off and it was AMAZING***
He will stop in the middle of a performance to read a book.
He spends a great portion of the concert just waving at fans.
He enjoys spraying water like this:
This lip bite:
He will sing someone else’s verse in a song and mess it up adorably.
He’s silly enough to recreate popular vines.
Niall Horan (9/13/1993)
He’s the only Irish band member and he will never let you forget that.
He’s got the best hand gestures out of the entire band.
Even Zayn can’t keep up.
Niall is actually a fanboy(girl) at heart:
He looks great holding a puppy.
He plays the guitar, a lot.
And it’s REALLY hot.
It’s easily one of the hottest things you’ll ever witness.
Honestly, this is all you should need to become a Niall girl/guy.
Actually, I’m sorry. This is what you need:
BIGGEST PLUS: This is still true.
Liam Payne (8/29/1993)
Liam does what thousands (millions) of people want to do...smack 1D butts.
Liam gets really into singing the lyrics to every song.
Liam is the god of wearing jorts.
Who knew jorts were even in again? Liam did, that’s who.
His eyes crinkle when he laughs.
He also laughs a lot when he’s on stage.
Cause he’s having an awesome time, obviously.
Liam knows exactly how to get a crowd jumping.
He can dance AND sing like Michael Jackson.
He is comfortable with his body, because he is PERFECT the way he is.
This song and dance combination:
Zayn Malik (1/12/1993)
He can hit notes so high, you’ll feel it in your bones.
He is very pensive. You two could have deep discussions.
This is what he looks like with his hair slicked back and holding a (fake) guitar.
He has an adorable little giggle/smile.
Here is that hair & giggled combined:
I’m so sorry if you’re a Zayn girl now and just fainted.
He actually listens to choreography very well.
His entire face, really.
Louis Tomlinson (12/24/1992)
His arm tattoos could make a saint swear.
His hair is so long now that he’s perfected the hair flip.
He’s got an adorable little smirk.
Even he knows he has a nice butt.
Just look at those eyes when he sings:
He can teach us a new style of how to vogue.
Did you choose one? Maybe these options made it harder on you. If you still can't decide, just be like me and say you're equally dedicated to all five members. One Direction started the U.S. leg of their tour in East Rutherford, NJ on August 5th and will be making some Midnight Memories around the country until October 5th.

Ozzy Osbourne will forever be grateful to late funnyman Robin Williams for paying his wife Sharon a surprise visit to cheer her up after a cancer diagnosis. The Black Sabbath rocker got in touch with the comedian after his TV star partner was diagnosed with colon cancer because he was convinced the actor, who played a doctor in 1998 movie Patch Adams, would be able to put a smile back on Sharon's face.
Williams turned up at the couple's home in the morning and climbed into bed with Sharon as a joke, and Ozzy admits he will never forget the actor's generosity.
He tells the VH1 Radio Network, "I'm forever in debt to Robin Williams, because when Sharon was diagnosed with colon cancer, I'd seen the film Patch Adams... it's about a guy who was a male nurse or something in a hospital and he was working with terminal people, and I thought, what a great thing to do, and he's a very funny man, Robin Williams. I got my agent to contact him and ask if he'd be so kind as to come around and talk to my wife, which he did. It was very nice of him."
Williams was found dead on Monday (11Aug14) in a suspected suicide.
Last night on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, the show's host paid tribute to one of his idols and comedic inspirations, Robin Williams. During his tribute, the host got choked up (like all of us back home). Fallon wanted to celebrate Williams's life and genius. He even snuck a spot-on impression in there. Watch the incredibly touching tribute below:
We already loved you Jimmy, but we love you so much more now.
Dwayne Johnson has thanked fans for their well wishes after his mother and cousin were involved in an horrific car crash with a suspected drunk driver earlier this month (Aug14). The Fast & Furious star revealed on Sunday (10Aug14) that his mum Ata and cousin Lina Fanene had been hospitalised on 2 August (14) after the SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) they were travelling in was hit by a vehicle driven by an unnamed woman, who was being chased by police in Florida.
Johnson did not reveal the extent of his relatives' injuries, but his mother was well enough to head home on Tuesday (12Aug14).
He shared a photo of himself pushing Ata in a wheelchair, with her left arm in a cast, with his Instagram.com followers, and in the accompanying caption, he wrote, "Takin' mama home (sic). Banged up, but she's a tough one and will make a full recovery. Grateful to see her smile. And thank you guys for all the prayers, love and well wishes."
The other female driver has been charged with one count of DUI.
The children of late actor Christopher Reeve have added their tribute to their dad's close friend and college roommate Robin Williams, thanking the tragic funnyman for his "simple, steadfast friendship" over the years.
The pair struck up a friendship back in the 1970s, while attending New York's prestigious Julliard School, where the aspiring actors became roommates. They remained close after college and made a vow to one another, promising that the first person to make it big in Hollywood would take care of the other, and Williams was there for his old pal in 1995, when he was left paralysed following a horse riding accident.
The Mrs. Doubtfire comedian reportedly helped to pay for Reeve's medical treatment and lifted the quadriplegic's spirits as he prepared to undergo life-saving surgery by bursting into the operating room, pretending to be an eccentric Russian surgeon ready to perform a rectal exam on him.
Williams, 63, died from a suspected suicide on Monday (11Aug14), 10 years after Reeve suffered a fatal heart attack in 2004, and now the Superman star's family has honoured the funnyman's memory.
In a statement issued to People.com, they write: "For Robin, our dad was 'Brother Reeve'. Robin was a light in our family for as long as we can remember. He and Dad made each other laugh, and they stood by each other to the end. Our hearts ache for his family."
Williams, who dedicated his Cecil B. Demille Award at the 2005 Golden Globes to his late friend, was also a key supporter of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, a charity set up by the Reeve family following the death of Christopher's wife, Dana, in 2006. The organisation aims to raise funds to find treatments and cures for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury.
Charity officials added their words of condolence late on Monday, in a message that reads: "While the world knew Robin Williams as an Oscar-winning actor, we knew a different side to the man whose smile was as big as his heart. "While our hearts ache with the loss of our friend, it is unlikely Robin would want us to mourn his passing with silence, but to celebrate his life through laughter. "Together, let's remember Robin for the man who made the world laugh."
Supermodel Kate Upton was reprimanded by her baseball star beau Justin Verlander for trying to cheer him up before a big game.
The 22-year-old Sports Illustrated model thought that she'd be a tonic for her glum boyfriend, who is the star pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, and so she started telling him jokes. She says, "He didn't tell me before, so he'd seem like he was in a bad mood before he pitched, so I'd be like, 'Joke, joke, joke, joke, joke,' trying to cheer him up. And then he got mad at me. He was like, 'Stop making me laugh! I'm trying to be angry'."
Upton admits the romance has led to problems at her beloved Yankees Stadium - and she has been told she cannot wear Tigers caps or gear there.
She explains, "I'm sleeping with the enemy... and the Yankees told me, 'You're not allowed to wear a Tigers hat. You're not allowed to wear any Tigers gear'. It's like a bad break-up."
Upton wore all white when she attended Verlander's Tigers game at Yankees Stadium last week (04Aug14).
Late Bee Gees star Robin Gibb's widow Dwina is overcoming her grief with the help of her baby grandson. The Stayin' Alive hitmaker died in 2012 after a battle with cancer, meaning he never got the chance to meet his grandson Maxwell-Robin, who was born in July last year (13).
Now Dwina has opened her heart to reveal the tot is a shining light in her life and has helped pick her up after Robin's death.
She tells Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "The baby has brought joy, because we were in a very dark space after Robin left. There was a void. Then there was suddenly something to look forward to - the birth of Maxwell 14 months after Robin had died. Until then it was very lonely. It didn't matter how many people were here. When everyone else was asleep, if he wasn't composing, Robin and I would talk for hours. I miss that.
"When you're in the middle of grief, suddenly you have to pull yourself together because there's a new life there. So you want to make them smile and laugh and give them a happy childhood.
"I do wish Robin had known there was a baby on the way before he died. He loved children and would have been thrilled to know that one was going to arrive in this household."
