Actress Jessica Chastain has urged U.S. officials to devise a heavy punishment for the masterminds behind the Hollywood hacking scandal, insisting the stars involved have been "completely victimised". Intimate pictures of a number of celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence and Kirsten Dunst were leaked on the Internet last month (Aug14) and further photographs of female stars including Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens and Gabrielle Union were exposed in a second wave over the weekend (20-21Sep14).
Chastain has now condemned the leak and called for harsh sentences for the perpetrators, telling Sky News, "It's such a violation. To me they're not leaked photos, they're stolen photos... Me appearing nude in a film is my choice and I find it so terrible that these actresses have been completely victimised.
"Anything sexual which does not have the woman saying 'yes'... is a big problem to me, so I hope that we find out who these people were and we can go after them as hard as we can."
Actress Scarlett Johansson has also been targeted in the new batch of snaps, which marks the second time nude pictures of her have surfaced on the Internet. Christopher Chaney, the man behind Johansson's 2011 leak, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2012 for cyber hacking.
Agents at America's Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are investigating the scandal.
Actress Meagan Good has been left "shocked and saddened" by news nude photos of her have leaked online.
The Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues actress is among the celebrities who woke up on Sunday (21Sep14) and discovered naked pictures had been posted on the Internet in the most recent wave of the ongoing hacking scandal. Good has taken to Instagram.com to vent her feelings, blasting the web bosses who are reposting the images that first appeared on 4chan.com.
She wrote, "I'm definitely in shock (and) saddened for everyone who is experiencing this. At the end of the day, we all know these pictures were for my husband." She added, "Oh, yeah - and for everyone who's reposting the leaked nudes? You should be ashamed of yourself." Good is not the only actress to respond to the latest leaks - her Think Like A Man Too co-star Gabrielle Union has reportedly contacted the FBI about the issue.
Good and newlyweds Union and Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Vanessa Hudgens and pregnant Hayden Panettiere are among the celebrities featured in the latest shots posted on the Internet on Sunday. Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kelly Brook and Kaley Cuoco Sweeting were among the first wave of stars, whose intimate snaps were stolen from cloud storage devices.
Johnny Depp's fiancee Amber Heard has become the latest victim of the ongoing Hollywood hacking scandal after more than 50 topless photos of the actress surfaced online on Sunday afternoon (21Sep14).
On Saturday (20Sep14), previously-unseen steamy shots of celebrities including newlyweds Kim Kardashian and Gabrielle Union, pregnant Hayden Panettiere and Vanessa Hudgens were posted on the Internet, and the cyber criminals behind the leak continued to make waves on Sunday, when a new pair of explicit snaps of Rihanna were shared on 4chan.org.
Hours later, a haul of saucy pictures featuring Heard in various states of undress were also uploaded to the website. According to TMZ.com, the series of photos also includes one in which the blonde beauty can be seen holding up a sign directed at Depp, referring to the actor as "Tonto" - the character he played in the 2013 movie remake of The Lone Ranger.
This weekend's leak comes three weeks after similar saucy snaps were stolen from cloud storage devices belonging to the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Kirsten Dunst and Kate Upton. The FBI is currently investigating the case in a bid to identify those responsible for leaking the nude photos.
Kim Kardashian and Hayden Panettiere are among the stars who have been targeted in the second wave of the Hollywood hacking scandal. Nude pictures of the reality TV star were leaked online on Saturday (20Sep14), three weeks after cyber criminals stole saucy snaps from cloud storage devices belonging to a host of celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence and Kirsten Dunst.
Actress Panettiere was also among those targeted in the second big leak, with others reportedly including Vanessa Hudgens, Kate Bosworth, Leelee Sobieski, Lake Bell and soccer star Hope Solo.
Newlywed actress Gabrielle Union also fell victim to the hacker, and has released a statement condemning the leak.
The statement reads, "Our private moments, that were shared and deleted solely between my husband (sports star Dwyane Wade) and myself, have been leaked by some vultures... I can't help but to be reminded that since the dawn of time women and children, specifically women of colour, have been victimised, and the power over their own bodies taken from them. These atrocities against women and children continue worldwide... For anyone out there also being affected by these and other hacking and hate crimes - We send our love, support and prayers. We have done nothing wrong."
Agents of America's Federal Bureau of Investigation launched a probe following the first leak in late August (14).
Australian actress Teresa Palmer is refusing to let Hollywood's latest nude photo scandal get her down, because she has so much to feel "blessed" about. Hackers who leaked explicit images of Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton on 31 August (14) also claim to be in possession of a slew of other risque snaps of the likes of Selena Gomez, Hilary Duff, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Lea Michele and mother-to-be Hayden Panettiere.
Palmer's name was also included on the list and the new mum reveals she has been co-operating with agents from America's Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in their ongoing probe to track down the cyber criminals.
She tells Eonline.com, "I have so much to say about the subject. I wish I could. It's actually a federal investigation so I'm not allowed to say anything about it but of course, it's an interesting situation."
However, the Warm Bodies star, who wed director Mark Webber in December (13) and became a first-time mum in February (14), insists that, while she is annoyed by the invasion of privacy, she is taking the scandal in her stride.
She says, "I'm so blessed in my life and I'm happy... Life's too beautiful to be mean and to have strange reactions and stuff."
Actress Victoria Justice is taking legal action over leaked nude photos of her on the Internet, despite previously insisting the pictures were fake. The former Victorious star was one of many female celebrities whose personal pictures were part of a massive online hack on Sunday (31Aug14), and shortly after the risque images surfaced, Justice took to Twitter.com do deny the photos were really her, writing, "These so called nudes of me are FAKE people. Let me nip this in the bud right now. *pun intended*"
However Justice, 21, is now admitting her privacy was invaded.
In a message posted on the microblogging site on Tuesday (02Sep14), Justice wrote, "Shortly after I tweeted about certain pics of me being fake, I was faced with a serious violation of privacy. There have always been fake photos of me on the internet, but I will not be put in the position to defend myself as to what is real or what is fake.
"I am angry at this massive invasion of privacy, and like the other women who are in this situation alongside of me, I am taking legal action to protect my rights."
The haul of celebrity photos originated on 4Chan.org after a hacker found them on numerous Apple iCloud accounts, and since then, authorities at the FBI have launched an investigation to track down the cyber criminals.
Celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kirsten Dunst and Mary Elizabeth Winstead have all admitted the pictures are real. Meanwhile, some 4Chan users also claim to have nude images of newlyweds Gabrielle Union and Jenny McCarthy, mum-to-be Hayden Panettiere, Hilary Duff, Kaley Cuoco Sweeting, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Lea Michele and Selena Gomez, among others.
Agents at America's Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have been called in to track down the cyber criminals responsible for leaking nude photos of celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton online. Risque pictures of the pair, along with other female stars such as Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Kirsten Dunst, caused a huge stir on the Internet when they surfaced on Sunday (31Aug14) and Lawrence's representative was quick to wage war against the hacker behind the scandal.
Her spokesperson confirmed the authenticity of the shots by calling the leak a "flagrant violation of privacy", and adding, "The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."
Upton's publicist also followed suit and threatened legal action, and on Monday afternoon (01Sep14), officials at the FBI confirmed they were looking into the case.
A statement released by FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller reads: "(The FBI is) aware of the allegations concerning computer intrusions and the unlawful release of material involving high profile individuals, and is addressing the matter.
"Any further comment would be inappropriate at this time."

Actress Jennifer Lawrence's representative has threatened to prosecute whoever is behind a new celebrity phone hacking scandal after naked photos of The Hunger Games star appeared online on Sunday (31Aug14). Risque pictures of the Oscar winner, along with other female celebrities such as Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande, Kate Upton and Kirsten Dunst, surfaced on the Internet, and Lawrence's spokeswoman is waging war on the person responsible for leaking the personal photos, which she confirms are real.
A statement from her rep to Us Weekly reads: "This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."
Revealing photos of actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead also appeared online, and she took to Twitter.com herself to address the leak, writing, "To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great 'bout yourselves."
She continued, "Knowing those photos were deleted long ago, I can only imagine the creepy effort that went into this. Feeling for everyone who got hacked."
Meanwhile, former Victorious co-stars Grande and Justice have denied the leaked images of them are for real.
Grande's rep tells JustJared.com that the photos are "completely fake", while Justice took to Twitter and wrote, "These so called nudes of me are FAKE people. Let me nip this in the bud right now. *pun intended*".

Singer Demi Lovato has praised reality TV star Kim Kardashian and her sisters for inspiring women to be proud of their curves.
The Skyscraper hitmaker, who has previously received treatment for bulimia, wasn't afraid to show some skin during Sunday's (24Aug14) 2014 MTV Video Music Awards in a plunging red gown, a style which is vastly different to her previous looks at the prizegiving.
Lovato took to Instagram.com on Monday (25Aug14) to compare her red carpet style over the years, including her 2008 dress, which she remembers forced her to ask for "Spanx to flatten my stomach". She tells Access Hollywood, "There's the element of insecurity when I go to an awards show... I was 16 and I was having an incredible time, but at the same time I was miserable. "I look back at that and think you know what I may have been thinner then but I'm so happy that I'm healthy today. And I have curves which are a lot sexier than what I was aiming for. Now I think curves are beautiful."
The singer credits her confidence to celebrities who aren't afraid to show off their voluptuous figures, including curvy Kardashian and her siblings Khloe and Kourtney. Lovato adds, "J Lo (Jennifer Lopez), Scarlett Johansson, Sofia Vergara, Beyonce - who I don't really consider human, she's more like a goddess. I really think they had a huge impact on that (my confidence). That's why you can think whatever you want about the Kardashians but they really did help tons of women feel comfortable within their own skin."
Lovato left rehab in 2011 following three months of treatment for her eating disorder and her substance abuse and self-harming problems.
Soul star Maxwell is preparing to release the long-delayed follow-up to his 2009 album Blacksummers'night, four years after he initially planned to put it out. The Pretty Wings hitmaker made a chart comeback with his Grammy-winning BLACKsummers'night, his first release in eight years, and delighted fans by stating it would be the first in a trilogy of projects.
He wanted to unveil the second instalment, Summers, in 2010, but the disc was temporarily put on hold because his 2009 album was still such a big hit with fans.
The project never emerged, as Maxwell was struck down with vocal swelling and haemorrhaging, which forced him to cancel his 2011 tour to undergo surgery.
Now Maxwell, who turned 41 last month (May14), reveals he is ready to focus on his work again after a tough few years in between releases.
He tells the Associated Press, "I lost my cousin. I lost a lot of things. I lost a lot of friends. I came to realise so many good things about people that were always really there, and then so many bad things about people who really weren't.
"When you turn 40 and when you cross a decade, God shows you the truth and you just sort of have to take it and run with it, and basically make the right choices, and that's kind of where I'm at right now.
"I think that's why the album can come out now."
Maxwell hopes to release Summer later this year (14), although an exact release date has yet to be scheduled.
The singer has also been keeping busy working with Alicia Keys on a previously-discussed joint EP, while he has also written a song for his old friend Jennifer Lopez, who he has known since the early 1990s.
Gushing about the superstar, he says, "She's such an American success story. There are people like Kim Kardashian, even Beyonce, that can look at her and say, 'Yo, she showed us how to shut it down'."
