Philip Seymour Hoffman rejected a plan to set up a trust fund for his children shortly before his death.
The actor passed away in February (14) after suffering a heroin overdose, and he left the bulk of his estate to his longtime partner Mimi O'Donnell, the mother of his three children.
Court documents filed as part of the proceedings have revealed the star discussed a plan to set up a trust for his children with his accountant in the year before his death, but rejected the idea because he didn't want his kids to grow up spoiled.
Attorney James Cahill, Jr., who has been appointed to protect the interests of Hoffman's children, Cooper, 10, Tallulah, seven, and Willa, five, revealed the actor's discussions with accountant David Friedman in the paperwork filed at Manhattan Surrogate's Court in New York City.
In the documents, obtained by the New York Post, Cahill, Jr. states that Friedman "recalled conversations with (Hoffman) in the year before his demise where the topic of a trust was raised for the kids and summarily rejected by him" because he didn't want them to grow up as "trust-fund kids".
The documents also reveal Hoffman wanted O'Donnell to be given spousal rights even though they were not married, with Friedman stating that the actor "simply did not believe in marriage".
Samuel L. Jackson has shot down rumours suggesting he endured an awkward silence with Victoria Beckham as they sat side-by-side at the Wimbledon tennis championships on Sunday (06Jul14), insisting they "had a ball".
A host of celebrities were spotted in the crowd at the Men's Singles Final in London as Novak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer in a nail-biting five-set match, but it was film footage of the movie icon and former Spice Girls star Beckham fidgeting through an apparent silence during the game that went viral on Monday morning (07Jul14).
The Vine.com clip showed the Pulp Fiction actor scratching his head and stroking his thigh during a break in the match as the two stars appeared to ignore one another.
However, Jackson has since taken to his Twitter.com account to dispel claims they failed to strike up a conversation. In a post on Monday (07Jul14), he writes, "Lotta Bulls**t goin' round (sic), I had a ball sitting next to @victoriabeckham at Wimbledon yesterday! Truly Lovely!STFU (shut the f**k up)!!"

A source tells the New York Post that the home failed to sell and alleges the former Mrs. Johansen continued using it as a vacation home.
However, on Wednesday (11Jun14), Supreme Court Justice Matthew Cooper ruled Simon must put the four-bedroom house on the market immediately.
The source continues, "The judge ruled it had to be immediately put up for sale for $695,000."
Johansen and Simon wed in 1983 and separated in 2006. The rocker is currently married to his third wife Mara Hennessey.

Actor David Hasselhoff was held up during the London leg of the Gumball 3000 rally on Sunday (08Jun14) after police pulled over his famous Knight Rider sports car for speeding. The former Baywatch star is among the celebrities taking part in the annual event, in which a host of famous faces drive luxury cars across the world, and the Gumball regular is racing across the globe in a modernised version of his high-performance sidekick KITT, a car fitted with artificial intelligence which featured in the hit 1980s show.
However, Hasselhoff ran into a little trouble with cops after he was spotted travelling at high speed, and the actor admits his usual charms failed to convince the officers to let him go with a warning.
He explains, "Police pulled me over, for speeding.
"Normally on Gumball, when I get pulled over by the police, I have a photo with them and they let me off. But not this year.
"I told them that it wasn't my fault, because KITT drives itself!"
More than half a million fans turned out to cheer on the celebrity drivers as they pulled up on London's Regent Street on Sunday for the U.K. leg of the world's biggest rally.
The famous shopping district was shut down for the day to allow the fleet of supercars to pass through, with other star participants including rappers Eve, Xzibit, Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah, dance DJ Deadmau5 and British TV host Jonathan Ross.
The Gumball rally continues across Europe, with the finish line set in clubbing Mecca Ibiza, where Gumball founder Maximillion Cooper will wed Eve.

Cult film Wet Hot American Summer is reportedly set for a revival in a prequel mini-series on Netflix. The 2001 comedy's writers David Wain and Michael Showalter are in talks with bosses at the online streaming service to turn the movie about a group of eccentric summer camp counsellors into a 10-episode series, according to Variety.
Sources tell the site that Wain and Showalter are hoping to reunite the then-up-and-coming group of cast members to reprise their roles as high-school-age characters in the prequel, despite the fact many of them are now in their 40s. Wet Hot American Summer featured Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks, Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Christopher Meloni, and Molly Shannon.
Movie veteran Diane Keaton has set herself the challenge of becoming the Hollywood actress who has kissed the most men onscreen. The Annie Hall star admits she always enjoys a good kissing scene and she is determined to get her count up to 50 co-stars with Robert Redford and David Beckham among the guys on her wish list.
Revealing her new quest during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, Keaton said, "What I've decided that I would like as my goal in life is to be the woman in films who has had the most kisses with men on film. I'm thinking that maybe 50 is what I'm going for, so I have a little bit of time. "I have done exactly... more like18. I have a long way to go."
Ripping her wish list of movie kisses from her hands, host DeGeneres read out Redford, Beckham, Clint Eastwood, Adam Levine, Will Ferrell, Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling's names and then Keaton revealed there is one man she wants "right now" - comedian Louis C.K. She said, "He's hilarious. He's just kind of a genius."
However, she fears many of her wishlist guys won't live up to Morgan Freeman, who plays her husband in new film Life Itself. She explains, "His lips were just so luscious. You just pushed your lips up against them and you squeezed in and it felt gooey and good."

Movie fans don’t always agree with the critics, it’s just a fact of life. However, Rotten Tomatoes has become the place to find out both the audience and critic ratings of any film so viewers can compare and make an informed decision. While critics and fans agree on a lot of films, there are many comedies that reviewers panned even though they were loved by the audience. We’ve put together a list of the 10 most surprisingly rotten comedies because, at least on these occasions, the critics are totally wrong!

Ace Ventura: Pet DetectiveCritics Score: 45%Audience Score: 57%Though Jim Carrey’s wacky humor isn’t appreciated by everyone, to some, Ace Ventura is one of the funniest movies they’ve ever seen. If nothing else, it’s certainly unique.
Tommy BoyCritics Score: 44%Audience Score: 91%The comedy starring two Saturday Night Live favorites, Chris Farley and David Spade, is a classic! It’s surprising that Tommy Boy received such a low score, and if you narrow the Rotten Tomatoes score from all critics to just the top critics, the score goes down to 18%.
