James singer Tim Booth has wrecked fans' dreams of a sequel to his acclaimed 1996 album collaboration with composer Angelo Badalamenti by insisting Booth & The Bad Angel was a wonderful one-off. The Sit Down singer was recently reminded of the time he spent songwriting and recording with the man behind the haunting Twin Peak theme when Badalamenti sent him a forgotten outtake from their sessions together.
Booth says, "Angelo just sent me a song he found recently on a piece of tape, and he didn't tell me what it was and I started listening to it, thinking, 'F**k, he's written a song with a singer that sounds just like me - and he didn't ask me to sing?'
"Halfway through I realised that it was me... and it was like, 'Oh, OK, I'm not so upset'. It was cool.
"I have great memories of recording Booth & the Bad Angel and I'd love to work with him again because I adore the man. We didn't have a bad word to say to each other, but I think that album was a one-off - and I'm not complaining.
"Many people have tried to work with Angelo, including Leonard Cohen and Bono and (David) Bowie. I think I was very blessed to work with him on one album. And we were lucky enough to work with (guitarist) Bernard Butler and the engineer was Nigel Godrich. Two years later he did OK Computer with Radiohead. We had a great team."
A representative for comedian Eddie Murphy has denied a U.S. tabloid report suggesting he is set to become a father for the ninth time. Sources tell Star magazine the Shrek star's girlfriend, 35-year-old model Paige Butcher, is pregnant with the couple's first child and, according to an insider, the pair is planning to wed before the tot is born.
The source says, "She (Butcher) made it clear that she wants to be married before having their baby, so they're hashing out a prenup before announcing anything."
However, Murphy's spokesman has shot down the story, simply telling WENN the report is "not true".
Murphy, 53, has five children with his first wife Nicole, while he also has a son by each of his exes Tamara Hood and Paulette McNeely, in addition to a daughter, named Angel, with former Spice Girls singer Melanie Brown.
The actor has been dating blonde beauty Butcher since 2012.

Over the course of her career, Cameron Diaz has played everything from an ogre princess to a crime-fighting angel to the most irresponsible teacher of all time. But though she's best known for starring in goofy, raunchy comedies, Diaz's resume is filled with varied compelling roles that don't get talked about nearly as much as her underwear dance in Charlie's Angels. In fact, we'd go so far as to say that over the course of her career, Diaz has steadily delivered surprising, awards-worthy performances that often get overlooked by both the press and the public. In honor of her latest film, Sex Tape, arriving in theaters Friday, we've taken a look back at Diaz's life and career to pinpoint every single performance that shocked, moved, and impressed us... and, in a just world, would have impressed the Academy as well.
The CounselorLet’s get this out of the way: yes, Diaz’s character does have sex with a car. It’s a shame, though, that the hubbub surrounding that scene overshadowed everything else about her performance, which is insane in the best possible way. As Malkina, the calculating girlfriend/partner in crime to Javier Bardem’s Reiner, Diaz turned everything up to 11 to give an over-the-top, off-the-wall performance that is more entertaining than attempting to figure out what’s happening with Bardem’s hair. Despite a star-studded cast and a script by Cormac McCarthy, Diaz was easily the most memorable thing about The Counselor, as well as the most compelling.
ShrekOkay, so the Oscars don’t honor voice over work. That doesn’t mean that Diaz’s work as Princess Fiona isn’t worthy of praise. With anyone else voicing her, Fiona would probably turn out to be another cookie-cutter animated princess – kooky, sure but not downright weird, and probably not willing to convince a bird to sing itself to death or having a burping contest with an ogre. Diaz gives Fiona an absurd amount of personality, depth and fun, making her feel as alive as she would if it actually ere Diaz up on that screen.
My Best Friend’s Wedding Julia Roberts get all of the attention, but her Julianne Potter would be nothing without Diaz’s sweet, warm-hearted Kimmy Wallace. A character like Kimmy could have easily been one-dimensional: an unrealistic perfect girl meant to make the protagonist jealous. But Diaz’s Kimmy is a fully realized person; she’s not just sweet, she’s also naïve and awkward and genuinely open-hearted. And her ability to turn what would otherwise be a painfully embarrassing karaoke scene into an endearingly goofy moment deserves much more credit than Roberts letting Dermot Mulroney go.

Being John Malkovich And you thought The Counselor was a strange movie. In Being John Malkvoich, Diaz plays Lotte, the unhappy, pet-obsessed wife of John Cusack’s Craig, who enters into a relationship with Craig’s work crush Maxine (Catherine Keener) while inside the head of John Malkovich. It would be easy to let the craziness of the plot outshine the characters, but Diaz, wearing a horrendously frizzy wig and a series of unflattering outfits, uses the opportunity to give a weird, intense, complex performance that is, unfortunately, often forgotten in favor of her comedic ventures.
There’s Something About Mary The Mask may have put her on the map, but it was the Farrelly Brothers’ comedy that really made Diaz a star. The entire movie hinges on her being the most irresistible woman in the universe, so she needs to win over the audience in addition to the characters. Diaz does exactly that. Her performance is bright, charming and effortlessly funny, and it’s not hard to see why everyone fell in love with her hilarious and heartwarming character.
In Her Shoes In Her Shoes is a much better movie than it appears in its trailer, and much of that is due to Diaz’s performance as Maggie, the free-spirited wild child sister of Toni Collette’s Rose. It would be easy to turn Maggie into a flighty, one-dimensional character, but Diaz manages to turn a somewhat trite reveal – Maggie is dyslexic and has trouble reading and doing basic math – into an opportunity to showcase the insecurity, doubt, and hurt that has turned Maggie into the frivolous party girl that she is. It’s a surprisingly layered performance for a light-hearted movie about the relationship between sisters, and Diaz easily holds her own opposite Collette and Shirley MacLaine, both of whom received more attention.
Vanilla Sky Whether you loved Vanilla Sky or found it impossible to get past Tom Cruise’s melted face, there’s no denying that Diaz’s performance was the standout of the film. As Julie, the suicidal, jealous ex-girlfriend of Cruise’s David Aames, Diaz is simultaneously terrifying and heartbreaking, showcasing all of the hurt, anger, and instability that drive her to extreme measures. More than just the femme fatale or the vindictive ex, Diaz’s Julie is a tour de force performance that unfortunately got overshadowed by some terrible prosthetics.
Irish model Nadia Forde has cheated death in a horrifying motorway car crash. The brunette beauty, who has been linked to golf star Rory McIlroy, was travelling from London to Manchester, England in the early hours of Sunday morning (13Jul14) when she lost control of her car and ploughed into the central reservation.
The vehicle flipped over six times, but the 25 year old walked away from the crash with only minor injuries.
A spokesperson for Forde says, "Nadia is really lucky - her guardian angel was definitely watching over her. The ambulance crew who attended the scene said it was a miracle that she walked away from the crash with just a bump on the head."
Actress Lea Michele has paid tribute to her late boyfriend Cory Monteith on the first anniversary of his death. Monteith died in a hotel room in Vancouver, Canada following a drug and alcohol-related overdose a year ago and on Sunday (13Jul14), the Glee star took to Twitter.com to honour the tragic actor. Sharing a picture of Monteith on the beach on the social networking site, she writes, "We hold you in our hearts today, and every day we remember your smile. We will love you and miss you always." Michele also posted a photo of herself and Monteith on Instagram.com. The actress was not the only Glee castmember to pay tribute to Monteith on Sunday. Actor Matthew Morrison writes, "I personally believe Cory was reborn into some other beautiful form a year ago today. I celebrate him and his life... Wherever that may be," while Amber Riley adds, "I remember your smile and your warm hugs! 1 year without you and your presence is still felt. Miss and love u everyday big bro Our Angel (sic)".
Pop star Miley Cyrus has paid tribute to her beloved dog Floyd by having a tattoo of the late pooch inked onto her left ribcage.
The Wrecking Ball hitmaker was plunged into despair in April (14) when the Alaskan Klee Kai died and she recently decided to honour his memory with a piece of skin art.
She showed off the circular tattoo, featuring a portrait of Floyd and the words, "With a little help from my fwends (friends)", on her Instagram.com page on Sunday (06Jul14) and simply captioned the image, "#floydtat".
She also shared a snap of herself pulling up her shirt to display the inking while posing alongside two friends, who had matching tattoos on their bodies too.
Cyrus recently welcomed new dog Emu Coyne Cyrus into her family, but insisted the animal would never replace Floyd, declaring, "There will never be anyone like Floyd. There was a bond that was so deep it's irreplaceable but that's not what I am trying to do. Never will I replace Floyd and that's something I had to take time to understand. We had a very special memorial service for Floyd and I felt my angel Floydy give Emu his blessing..."
Model Ireland Baldwin has broken her silence about her romance with rapper Angel Haze, insisting the media should be happy for the couple. Bisexual Haze, real name Raykeea Angel Wilson, confirmed reports she was dating Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger's daughter last week (ends27Jun14), attacking press claims the couple was just friends.
She raged, "An interracial gay couple, I mean that's just weird right now. We f**k and friends don't f**k. I've never f**ked one of my friends. Once I see you in that way, it doesn't happen."
And now Baldwin has responded to her girlfriend's outrage on Twitter.com, writing, "these gossip sites and articles need to relax. they twist words to make their lame publications more exciting.
"making this about race or the fact that were (we are) both women is rather outdated. this is a new world we live in people... our private life should be respected as well. a lot of claims have been recently posted that we're never said. reporters like to take... our words, alter them to their benefit and run. it's not cool. we're happy. we're healthy. that's all that matters."
"I welcomed Emu Coyne Cyrus into the family a couple days ago... There will never be anyone like Floyd. There was a bond that was so deep it's irreplaceable but that's not what I am trying to do. Never will I replace Floyd and that's something I had to take time to understand. We had a very special memorial service for Floyd and I felt my angel Floydy give Emu his blessing..." Miley Cyrus introduces her fans to new pooch Emu and assures them she will not forget about her dog Floyd, who died in April (14).
Rapper Angel Haze has made it clear she is more than just friends with Alec Baldwin's daughter Ireland, insisting the couple is in love. Model Ireland Baldwin, whose mother is actress Kim Basinger, had fans guessing about the status of her relationship with the bisexual hip-hop star in May (14), when she shared a photo of the pair locking lips and another image of her gazing at Haze, alongside the caption, "this is what they're always talkin' 'bout."
Haze, 22, has now opened up about their romance in a bid to convince some of the more conservative members of the press to stop referring to them as just "best friends".
She tells Britain's The Independent newspaper, "An interracial gay couple, I mean that's just weird right now. We f**k and friends don't f**k. I've never f**ked one of my friends. Once I see you in that way, it doesn't happen."
She has also credited 18-year-old Baldwin with helping to change her view on what real love is.
She continues, "When you find love it definitely amends your perspective on certain things. I was dating a guy I really liked about a year ago and being around him and realising so many things about myself totally made me hate the traditional ideas of what a relationship should be, of what romance should be.
"You go out and you're searching for this Utopian feeling, butterflies; that thing where you can't stop thinking about them. It doesn't have to be so overwhelming."
It appears Baldwin is bisexual as well - she started 2014 dating surfer Slater Trout. The couple went public with it's brief romance on the red carpet at a party to mark the 50th anniversary of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in January (14).
Embattled actress Amanda Bynes has undergone laser surgery to remove a number of her tattoos. The Hairspray star, who was photographed with bandages on her forearm earlier this year (14), was recently snapped out in Las Vegas with a noticeably faded inking in that area, while she has also been seen with a lightened design of angel wings near her elbow. The 28 year old is in the process of rebuilding her life following a series of legal issues and an extended stay in a mental treatment facility last year (13).
