Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan were crowned the kings of the 2014 CMT Music Awards after they each took home two trophies at the TV network's annual prizegiving on Wednesday (05Jun14). Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard earned prizes for Duo Video of the Year as well as Collaborative Video of the Year for This is How We Roll featuring Bryan.
The Drunk On You hitmaker landed a second award, CMT Performance of the Year, for a separate duet with Lionel Richie thanks to their Oh No/All Night Long set from the 2012 CMT Artists of the Year TV special.
The trio dominated the show at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee from the start of the ceremony, when they were joined by ZZ Top and R&B star Jason Derulo to sing and dance to a mash-up of his song Talk Dirty and Florida Georgia Line's This is How We Roll to kick off the programme.
It was also a big night for Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, and Miranda Lambert, who won the Video of the Year, Male Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year, respectively. This is the second year in a row in which the trio has taken the top honours.
The ceremony, which was hosted by three-time emcee Kristen Bell, also included sets from Keith Urban, Hunter Hayes, Dierks Bentley, Jake Owen, Lady Antebellum and Little Big Town.
John Legend sang a special version of his hit All of Me arranged by Hunter Hayes, while Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles joined in with vocals, and Lee Ann Womack and Kacey Musgraves took on Alan Jackson's Livin on Love just before Underwood presented him with the first-ever CMT Impact Award.

Miranda Lambert has extended her reign as the new queen of country after leading the nominations for the 2014 CMT Music Awards. The Mama's Broken Heart singer is up for six trophies at this year's event - two as a solo act, two for her We Were Us duet with Keith Urban and two with her band the Pistol Annies.
Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan have landed five nods each, while Urban and Taylor Swift have four each to take to the CMT Music Awards on 4 June at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena in Tennessee.
The night's big prize for Video of the Year will be a battle between Blake Shelton and Pistol Annies (Boys 'Round Here), Carrie Underwood (See You Again), Eric Church (Give Me Back My Hometown), Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan (This Is How We Roll), Hunter Hayes (I Want Crazy), Kacey Musgraves (Follow Your Arrow), Keith Urban with Miranda Lambert (We Were Us), Luke Bryan (That's My Kind of Night), Miranda Lambert (Automatic), Taylor Swift (Red), Thomas Rhett (It Goes Like This) and Tim McGraw with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban (Highway Don't Care).
Meanwhile, Dierks Bentley and OneRepublic (Counting Stars), Jake Owen (Days Of Gold), Lady Antebellum and Stevie Nicks (Rhiannon), Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie (Oh No/All Night Long), The Band Perry and Fall Out Boy (My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark) and Willie Nelson and Neil Young (Long May You Run) - all from CMT TV specials - are up for the CMT Performance of the Year prize.
Katy Perry introduced the inaugural iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles from the roof of the Capital Records building. The pop star recalled driving around L.A. in her "little beat-up car" that eventually got repossessed and hearing one of her songs on a local radio station for the first time.
In the pre-taped segment, the singer said, "This is the city where everyone comes to Roar. This is Los Angeles, the centre of the music universe. And this is the iHeartRadio Music Awards."
Pitbull opened the show on Thursday evening (01May14) by performing Wild Wild Love with girl band G.R.L. on the back of a prop yacht on the Shrine Auditorium stage.
The rapper also performed his Timber duet solo without Kesha, who has yet to perform for the first time following a stint in rehab earlier this year (14). The Tik Tok singer's voice could be heard but she was a no-show onstage.
Rihanna claimed the first-ever iHeartRadio Music Award when her song Pour It Up was named Hip Hop/R&B Song of the Year. Pitbull accepted the honour on behalf of the absent singer, who was reportedly stuck in traffic on a local Los Angeles freeway.
The rapper was back onstage minutes later to accept the Best Collaboration prize for his hit duet with Kesha, and Miley Cyrus landed an award for Best Lyrics for her 2013 hit Wrecking Ball.
The sick star was unable to make it to the ceremony, so her father Billy Ray Cyrus picked up the honour on her behalf and said, "As a dad, I can't begin to tell you how much your thoughts, your love, your support for my family and Miley mean to all of us."
The pop star is still recovering from an allergic reaction to sinus medication.
Luke Bryan, Ed Sheeran and Bastille were also among the early performers, while Blake Shelton, Drake, Shakira, Kendrick Lamar and Pharrell Williams are all billed to perform at the prizegiving and Michael Jackson's new tune Love Never Felt So Good will debut during the show.
Meanwhile, the telecast also featured pre-taped anecdotes about L.A. from Chris Martin, John Legend, Lady Gaga and Iggy Azalea.
More than 60 million U.S. radio listeners have voted for the awards.
Next year's (15) Academy of Country Music Awards is already a sell-out just 10 days after the latest ceremony. Country music fans have flocked to get their hands on tickets for the 50th annual show, which will be held for the first time at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
All available seats for the prizegiving and related events sold out in just 18 minutes when they went on sale on Wednesday (16Apr14).
Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, who announced the news of the new venue at the ACMs on 6 April (14), will return to co-host the 2015 ACM Awards.
Miranda Lambert made history and ruled the 49th annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (06Apr14), earning three top prizes, including Female Vocalist of the Year for the fifth time in a row. The House That Built Me singer became the only female artist to win the honour five consecutive times, edging out Reba McEntire, who won the award for four successive years, and seven in total.
Lambert also took home the Record of the Year prize for her song Mama's Broken Heart, as well as the Vocal Event of the Year prize for her duet with Keith Urban, We Were Us, which was handed out on the red carpet before the ceremony began.
Country music icon George Strait won the ultimate prize of the night for Entertainer of the Year, beating out Taylor Swift, Lambert, her husband Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan. The latter two also co-hosted the event for the second year in a row.
Follow Your Arrow hitmaker Kacey Musgraves followed up her two Grammy wins in February (14) with the Album of the Year award for Same Trailer Different Park, and boasted, "I'm really proud to be a woman representing country music," in her acceptance speech.
For the second year in a row Jason Aldean picked up the Male Vocalist of the Year title, and other winners included The Band Perry (Vocal Group of the Year), Florida Georgia Line (Vocal Duo of the Year), Justin Moore (New Artist of the Year), Lee Brice (Song of the Year for I Drive Your Truck) and Highway Don't Care by Tim McGraw, featuring Taylor Swift & Keith Urban (Video of the Year).
Garth Brooks presented veteran singer Merle Haggard with the Crystal Milestone Award to mark his 50th anniversary in the industry, and George Strait and Lambert teamed up to sing a medley of his hits, including The Bottle Let Me Down and I'm a Lonesome Fugitive.
The achievement coincided with Haggard's 77th birthday, and Brooks led the entire audience in serenading the singer on his big day.
The ceremony was also filled with stand-out performances, including sets from George Strait, Darius Rucker, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow and Toby Keith.
In addition, a number of artists joined forces for special collaborations - Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan teamed up for a pyrotechnics and bicycle stunt show during their performance of This is How We Roll; Tim McGraw was joined by his wife Faith Hill for a duet of Meanwhile; Stevie Nicks joined Lady Antebellum for a rendition of Rihannon, and The Voice stars Shelton and Shakira gave the country night a Latin feel as they reworked her song Medicine.
Prior to Sunday's ceremony, Carrie Underwood was given the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award, Toby Keith and Ronnie Milsap were handed the Career Achievement Award, and Rascal Flatts were honoured with the Jim Reeves International Award for their success overseas.

Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban picked up the first trophy at the 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night (06Apr14) - as they walked the red carpet in Las Vegas. Prior to the ceremony's start at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the duo was awarded the Vocal Event of the Year prize for the duet We Were Us.
Lambert, who is nominated for seven ACM Awards, scored her 16th trophy with the win.
The Band Perry kicked off the evening performing their hit Chainsaw, while duo Florida Georgia Line rocked with their tune Stay, Brett Eldredge took the stage with Beat Of The Music and Brad Paisley sang his track River Bank for the first time on TV.
Blake Shelton also took a break from hosting duties to perform his song My Eyes with Gwen Sebastian.
Shelton and co-host Luke Bryan, who are both nominated for the Entertainer of the Year prize, are emceeing the ceremony for the second year in a row.
Blake Shelton has broken chart records in America by scoring his 11th number one on the Billboard Country Airplay countdown. Doin' What She Likes gives the singer/songwriter the edge over Brad Paisley, who has 10 chart-toppers to his name.
The Nielsen chart launched in January, 1990 and Shelton's number one streak began with Hillbilly Bone four years ago (Mar10), according to Billboard.com.
