Take a tip from teenagers this Valentine’s Day and do it up big. Everything’s a grand gesture when you’re young and these teen movies prove that young love trumps all. So get out there and do something nice for your significant other – and we don’t just mean getting tickets to the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
1. Say Anything
The now-iconic boombox gesture. Except these days it would probably involve holding up an iPhone or something.
2. The Fault In Our Stars
Augustus used his wish to give Hazel her dream trip to Amsterdam. Sigh…
3. 10 Things I Hate About You
The public singing and dancing. How could you resist?
Edward would watch Bella as she slept (which definitely sounds creepy now that we think about it) and he took her flying through the woods. Unconventional romance, to be sure, but she swooned nonetheless.
5. Cruel Intentions
When a bad boy reveals his sensitive side to you, you know it’s love.
6. A Walk to Remember
He married her and fulfilled her dying wish, doesn’t get more grand than that.
7. Moonrise Kingdom
What’s more romantic than running away together?
8. Romeo + Juliet
The classic tale of star-crossed lovers. They basically disown their families to be together. They also die in the end but let’s just pretend it all worked out.
9. Save the Last Dance
Being a good dancer: hot. Showing up to your girl's dance audition because you know how important it is to her: even hotter.
10. The Perks of Being a Wallflower
We kind of wish people still exchanged mixtapes like Charlie and Sam.
11. The Notebook
Noah climbs a Ferris wheel just to ask Allie out. Yeah, he's kind of insane...but in the most romantic way.
Juno fills Paulie Bleeker's mailbox with his favorite orange Tic Tacs. Even sassy Juno can be sweet.

Former Happy Mondays star Bez is planning to stage a week-long 'bed-in' with his girlfriend to protest the British government's shale fracking techniques. The dancer and activist and his girlfriend Firouzeh Razavi will begin their John Lennon-inspired protest on 9 February (15) at the posh Motcalm Hotel at The Brewery in London.
Bez, real name Mark Berry, says, "Where John Lennon and Yoko Ono holed up for a week in the Presidential Suite at the Hilton Hotel Amsterdam for their 'Bed-in for Peace' on March 25, 1969, Firouzeh and I are compelled to do our 'Bed-in against Fracking' which has been thrust upon us all undemocratically.
"No one in Britain wants Fracking. But the government is, against the will of the people, trying to force it upon us all. And we're not having it."
Bez admits the fact his bed-in will include Valentine's Day (14Feb15) is not lost on him, adding, "It's taking the hassle out of what to do for Valentine's Day. We're not getting out of the bed for the entire week."
Bez will also be joined in bed by a variety of guests, who will either visit his suite in person or Skype in to chat with him and Razavi.
The bed-in comes just weeks after the dancer's bid to become an elected member of Parliament for Salford, England fell flat when he failed to register a new name for his political party.
Veteran rocker Brian May has been battling a nasty bout of flu on Queen's European tour. The 67-year-old guitarist fell sick following the band's show in Paris, France last week (beg26Jan15), and has been struggling with ill health ever since.
May admits he barely made it through concerts in Cologne, Germany and Amsterdam in the Netherlands, but he has refused to bow out of any of the group's gigs.
In a post on his blog after the Cologne show on Thursday (29Jan15), he writes, "I have seldom felt so ill and yet still played a gig - as tonight. Somehow I got flu on the day after Paris - and today the high temperature, the headache, and the sinus blockage made me doubt I could even keep upright, never mind play a show. But in the event, adrenaline and the warm energy of the audience got me through."
However, May felt no better when he took to the stage on Holland on Friday (30Jan15), writing afterwards, "I took so much Neurofen (painkiller) to get through the night I definitely forgot where I was somewhere around Crazy Little Thing... and by (Bohemian) Rhapsody I was hangin' on by my fingernails."
May made a slight recovery over the weekend (31Jan-01Feb15), and he thanked fans for their well wishes in a post on Twitter.com, writing, "Thanks for the get well messages, folks. I kinda didn't exist for the past 36 hours. I think I survived."

He performed almost 1,500 shows at the Vienna State Opera and became known for his roles in The Magic Flute, The Bartered Bride, and The Tales of Hoffmann.
He also graced the stage at Italy's La Scala and the Metropolitan Opera in New York, as well as opera houses in Paris, France, Amsterdam, Netherlands and Brussels, Belgium.
Rapper Future's tourmate Dj Esco has been released from jail in the United Arab Emirates, two months after he was arrested on drug possession charges. The DJ had travelled to the Middle East in November (14) to appear alongside Future at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix concerts, but he was placed behind bars after he was reportedly caught in possession of a stash of marijuana after arriving at Dubai International Airport from Amsterdam, Holland.
He was given a drug test, which showed he had pot in his system, and jailed.
However, prosecutors have since decided not to pursue the possession counts and have dropped charges of marijuana consumption.
Defence lawyer Mohammad Al Redha tells 7daysindubai.com, "He admitted that he consumed marijuana before coming to Dubai. He didn't have any criminal intention and was not aware that marijuana is illegal in the UAE. It was a mistake."
Al Redha also reveals Esco has been keeping in good spirits, despite spending the Thanksgiving, Chrismas and New Year holidays behind bars.
He adds, "He is a charming and polite person - even his (prison) wardens loved his character. He will be back home soon."
Happy Mondays star Bez is set to stage a John Lennon-style 'bed-in' next month (Jan14) to protest against fracking and has invited The Beatles star's widow Yoko Ono to join him. The British dancer/percussionist, real name Mark Berry, launched himself into the world of politics earlier this year (14) when he announced he will run as a Member of Parliament for his native Salford, England in next year's (15) U.K. general election.
He plans to oppose the controversial gas-extraction method as part of his eco-friendly manifesto and has been a vocal opponent of the Barton Moss fracking exploration site in Manchester, England.
As part of his campaign, Bez plans to recreate Lennon and Ono's famous 1969 anti-war protests in Amsterdam, Netherlands and Montreal, Canada when they stayed in bed for a week to promote world peace.
Bez plans to descend on a hotel bed in Kensington, London with his fiancee Firouzeh Razavi to fight his cause and wants Ono to join him, according to reports.
An online petition has been created urging Massachusetts justice officials to deny Mark Wahlberg's request for a pardon for his 1988 assault conviction.
The Transformers: Age of Extinction star spent 45 days in jail for attacking two Vietnamese men in his hometown of Dorchester, Massachussetts in separate incidents at the age of 16. Wahlberg has filed a petition with the Board of Pardons asking for his felony charges to be removed from his record because he is convinced he is "not the same person" anymore.
Members of Asian-American community 18MR, short for 18 Million Rising, have now created an online petition opposing the pardon and accusing the actor of seeking a clean slate simply for business purposes.
On the website, the group writes, "We demand that the Massachusetts State Parole Board and Governor Patrick deny Mark Wahlberg a pardon for his hate crimes. Not only is granting a pardon an affront to justice, but even asking for one completely disrespects Wahlberg's victims."
The petition had attracted more than 8,000 signatures as WENN went to press.
British singer Jamie T has pulled four upcoming shows on his European tour after falling ill. The Sticks 'N' Stones hitmaker had been booked to perform in Berlin, Germany on Friday (21Nov14), followed by dates in Hamburg, Cologne and in Amsterdam, Holland, but the concerts have since been postponed.
A statement posted on Jamie T's Facebook.com page on Thursday (20Nov14) reads: "Due to illness and following medical advice, regrettably Jamie T must postpone the following European tour dates...
"Jamie wishes to apologise to all ticket holders for any inconvenience this may cause. Tickets will remain valid and details for the rescheduled shows will be announced shortly."
Legendary film composer Ennio Morricone has scrapped his upcoming European tour as doctors have urged him to take more time off following spinal surgery earlier this year (14). The Italian musician underwent an operation to repair a slipped disc and had to axe both the original and rescheduled U.S. tour dates because he had not fully recovered.
The 86 year old was expected to perform around Europe in December (14) but doctors have advised him to continue resting, so some of the dates have been postponed until February and March next year (15).
He says, "It is with great joy that I can finally say that I have truly, fully recovered. I am most grateful for the loyalty that my audiences around Europe have shown. It was with great sadness that I have had to cancel and reschedule so many concerts during the past year. I am happy to announce though that nearly all of my concerts that were planned for this December will be rescheduled into my tour dates in February and March."
The trek will now begin on 1 February (15) in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
"Can't stop thinking about Anne Frank and her story after visiting the Anne Frank museum today. What a precious, brave and beautiful soul..." Demi Lovato was left moved and inspired by a visit to the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam, Holland.
