Actress Sara Gilbert is expecting her first child with new wife Linda Perry. The former Roseanne star, who wed singer/songwriter Perry in March (14), revealed the news on Tuesday's (09Sep14) episode of her U.S. TV show The Talk, after refusing to take part in a dare to lie on a bed of nails.
Fighting back tears, she explained, "I'm actually not gonna do the dare... I was scared to do it and I really do believe in facing your fears and doing things that make you uncomfortable, but I actually can't do the dare because I'm pregnant."
The surprise news prompted her co-presenters Sharon Osbourne, actress Aisha Tyler, comedienne Sheryl Underwood and newswoman Julie Chen to shriek with joy, as Gilbert added, "I feel good, I feel really good."
Gilbert is already a mum to son Levi and daughter Sawyer from her previous relationship with TV producer Allison Adler.
The new baby will be the second Gilbert has carried - she gave birth to Sawyer in 2007, while Adler carried Levi in 2004.
Rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne still struggles with her decades-old decision to cut her mother, father and brother out of her life, insisting she mourns the "death" of her family relationship every day. Ozzy Osbourne's wife endured a turbulent bond with her dad, rock entrepreneur Don Arden, who previously managed Ozzy's band Black Sabbath, and she fell out with him after he fired the singer from the group in 1979.
She subsequently became estranged from her mum Hope and brother David, and she admits the loss has always pained her, but she has no regrets about distancing herself from her troubled family.
Sharon explains, "I cut my entire family out of my life - my brother, my mother, my father, my grandmother - and it was a decision that you never get over, you've always got guilt, you've always got the pain in the pit of your stomach.
"It's literally, when you do that and you carry it through, it's like there is a death within you, because your family is no longer a part of your life. It is like they have died... You can't even put it into words, the pain that you feel inside of you. But I had to do it because I would have probably ended up really bad, in terrible ways, I would have probably ended up in jail, and I had to do it to save myself.
"It still pains me. My father is dead, my mother is dead, my brother is dead to me... you never get over it. (But I have) no regrets."
Osbourne reconciled with Arden in 2001 and paid for his medical care as he battled Alzheimer's disease for the final three years of his life. He died in 2007.
Billy Ray Cyrus has paid tribute to a Nevada school teacher who was shot dead last year (13), hailing him as a "true American hero" during a special concert on Saturday night (05Jul14). Michael Landsberry, an Afghanistan war veteran, was killed by a gunshot wound to the chest after trying to talk a 12-year-old gunman into handing over his weapon in October (13), and Cyrus paid his respects to the educator at a show in Incline Village, Nevada over the weekend.
The Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker told the crowd, "Tonight we are here to honour a true American hero. Michael Landsberry made the ultimate sacrifice to save his students after serving three terms in Afghanistan."
The singer presented Landsberry's widow Sharon with a memorial plaque and gave her a "financial gift" of an undisclosed amount, and he said Landsberry represented the Vietnam veteran in his song Some Gave All, which he performed with a large picture of Landsberry behind him.
Cyrus and his father Ronald Ray Cyrus have often paid tribute to unsung American heroes in the past, but the country star's words of respect for Landsberry were the first time he has done so since his father's death in 2006.
He tells the Associated Press, "Just about every year, my dad and I would find an unsung hero and present them with a 'Some Gave All' award. I kind of play everything by ear, and I thought sometime when the time is right, I would love to recognise the sacrifice Michael made."
Singer Ozzy Osbourne has been tapped to voice a character in children's animated show Bubble Guppies. The Black Sabbath frontman will guest star as Sid Fishy, "a rock and roll fish who loves being rotten," on the popular Nickelodeon series.
Osbourne explains he was keen to take on the role because of his granddaughter Pearl.
He says, "She has Nick Jr. on 24/7 (all day). I can’t wait to see her reaction when she hears my voice come from Sid Fishy’s mouth."
The 65 year old's first episode will premiere next year (15).
He's not the only member of the Osbourne family to find success as a kids TV character - Ozzy's wife Sharon voices Captain Hook's mother in Jake & the Never Land Pirates.

Sharon Osbourne hated attending marriage counselling sessions with her husband Ozzy because the rocker would throw tantrums and whittle away the time with long bathroom breaks. The couple attended joint sessions with a therapist in a bid to save their mariage after the Black Sabbath star began drinking again in 2012, ending years of sobriety and pushing his relationship with Sharon to the brink of collapse.
The reality TV star has now opened up about the problems she faced persuading her stubborn husband to attend the sessions, revealing he would yell at the therapist in fits of petulant rage and disappear to the bathroom to waste time.
She tells Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, "(It was) unbearable... He hated it. When this therapist would bring stuff up he was doing, Ozzy would get angry with me and I was like 'Don't get angry with me. You are the f**ker doing it!' After sessions Ozzy would argue with the therapist: 'You don't know me. Why are you saying this? You have never met me.' He'd come out angry and wouldn't talk next day (sic). The sessions were supposed to last an hour and a half and Ozzy spent half an hour peeing... He doesn't have to pee. It is an excuse, because his attention span is two seconds... We went for a month. That was it. It is not worth it. It was too much stress."
Ozzy sobered up and the couple managed to save the marriage, and the singer now attends solo therapy sessions.
R&B icon Kenneth 'babyface' Edmonds has reportedly scrapped his wedding at a luxury hotel in Beverly Hills, California amid an ongoing campaign against its owner. The singer/producer had planned to exchange vows with fiancee Nicole Patenburg at the Hotel Bel-Air on Saturday (17May14), but has decided to pull out of the venue over anti-gay laws that the Sultan of Brunei, who owns the hotel, has instituted in his homeland.
The couple has now moved the reception to another Beverly Hills hotel, according to TMZ.com.
Babyface is the latest star to protest against Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah's international Dorchester Collection empire after the introduction of proposed new laws in Brunei calling for Muslims caught performing homosexual acts to be stoned to death.
Among the celebrities calling for a boycott of his hotels are Ellen DeGeneres, Sharon Osbourne and Stephen Fry, while Kim Kardashian reportedly scrapped plans to hold her bridal shower at the Beverly Hills Hotel, also owned by the Sultan, last weekend (10-11May14).
