Former tennis star Jennifer Capriati has scored a legal victory after Florida prosecutors agreed to drop stalking and battery charges against her as part of a deal. Capriati's ex-boyfriend, Ivan Brannan, accused her of punching him in the face at a Florida gym on Valentine's Day (14Feb) last year (13) and stalking him in the months before the incident.
She was charged with the misdemeanours in March (13).
As part of the deal, Capriati agreed to serve 30 hours of community service and attend four hours of anger management counselling.
Mike Edmondson, spokesman for the Palm Beach County state attorney's office, says, "Those are standard conditions for a deferred prosecution.''
She attended the classes last week (ends10Jan14) and performed her community service at Florida Hospital Pepin Heart Institute in Tampa, according to the Associated Press.
James Brown may have sung "It's A Man's Man's Man's World," but not when it comes to American tennis. With the U.S. Open underway, I thought I'd take a look at the top five upcoming American Tennis players...and only one of them is a male. Sorry, JB.
1. Sloane Stephens
After Venus and Serena Williams retire, Stephens will take the mantle as the best American women tennis player. She's got the skills and the confidence to do it.
You maybe wouldn't think that a person with this name is a U.S. citizen, but she is and she's moving up the rankings.
3. Victoria Duval
This girl may be the victim of overhype, but she's not in danger of becoming the next Jennifer Capriati...yet. She can seize the day.
4. Christina McHale
Another promising woman's player. She has a lot of competition in front of her to move up the rankings, but she can do it.
5. Jack Sock
He's only 20 and he's already in the top 100 in the world. Most of the other American men players are in their late 20s, like John Isner, or mid -30s, like James Blake. Sock represents SOME hope for American men in this sport.

TV stars Matthew Perry and Kristin Davis are Hollywood's new 'it' couple, according to new reports.
The couple was spotted kissing while dining at Los Angeles restaurant La Dolce Vita recently, where they shared an ice cream and looked like a couple in love.
A fellow diner tells Life & Style magazine, "He kept his arm around her the entire time and kissed her forehead at one point."
Meanwhile, a friend of Sex and the City star Davis' says, "She's really fallen for Matthew."
The two singles have a string of romance stories to their credits--Perry is often romantically linked to tennis player pal Jennifer Capriati and has recently been connected to actress Piper Perabo, while Davis swore tales of her dating Steve Martin and Brit Damian Lewis were untrue.
