Country star Zac Brown got a taste of Fenway Park magic ahead of his Friday and Saturday night (27-28Jun14) concerts at the Massachusetts baseball Mecca by joining Billy Joel onstage in Boston on Thursday (26Jun14). The Uptown Girl hitmaker introduced Brown onstage towards the end of his stadium show for a rendition of You May Be Right.
Brown hit the stage as Joel said, "I'm playing one night at Fenway Park, but this guy is playing two."
The country star is a life-long fan of Joel and the Zac Brown Band have been known to cover his Piano Man hit at gigs. It is not known if Joel will return the favour and hit the stage with Brown.
Bon Jovi star Richie Sambora added some rock 'n' roll to the 2014 CMA Music Fest by performing with the Zac Brown Band on Sunday night (08Jun14). The group headlined the final night of the country music event at the LP Field stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, following performances from the genre's biggest stars, including Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and Brad Paisley, across the four-day festival.
Zac Brown's group gave the audience a night to remember by bringing out special guest Sambora during the set to perform Bon Jovi's huge hit Wanted Dead Or Alive.
The guitarist said after the show, "What a blast playing with my brother Zac Brown. Nashville has always welcomed me with open arms, and it was incredible to jump on stage and feel the energy of that amazing crowd."
Country star Zac Brown has finally added a son to his brood after his wife Shelly welcomed a baby boy to the family on Monday (05May14). Little Alexander Frost Brown is the couple's fifth child.
Announcing the happy news on the Zac Brown Band's website, the Chicken Fried hitmaker wrote, "Baby makes 7! (We) are pleased to announce the arrival of Alexander Frost Brown. Born May 5, 2014 at 11 lbs., 7 oz. and 22.5 inches long."
The newborn joins sisters Joni Mason, three, Georgia Sloan, four, Lucy, five, and Justice, seven.
In a 2011 interview Brown joked that he and his wife intended to keep making babies "until we get a boy".
Country music group Zac Brown Band has joined the ranks of The Police and the Rolling Stones after selling out two concerts at Boston's historic baseball stadium Fenway Park in record time. The Chicken Fried hitmakers are hitting the road for The Great American Road Trip Tour this summer (14), and they were due to play just one show at the Massachusetts venue on 27 June (14).
However, after eager fans purchased tickets in just minutes, they have added a second gig for the following night (28Jun14), which sold out in record time as well.
A statement on the band's official website reads: "With this incredible accomplishment, ZBB (Zac Brown Band) joins the ranks of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band, the Police and the Rolling Stones - all of whom have notched two-night sellouts at the historic ballpark."

Singer Michael Mcdonald is rejoining The Doobie Brothers for an upcoming country-themed hits album. The Sweet Freedom singer left the band 1982, but teamed up with his former bandmates on the track Don't Say Goodbye, which appeared on their 2010 album World Gone Crazy.
Little is known about the band's new project, but it is believed to be an album featuring their hits, re-recorded with country stars Toby Keith and Zac Brown.
Rock veterans The Doobie Brothers are giving their classic hits a country makeover by collaborating with Toby Keith, Brad Paisley and the Zac Brown Band for a new tribute album. The Black Water hitmakers have been working on the project in Nashville, Tennessee and a slew of guests, including Chris Young, Sara Evans, Jerrod Niemann and Love and Theft, have also been stopping by to lend their vocals to the revamped tunes.
Details of the duets have been kept under wraps, but The Doobie Brothers frontman Tom Johnston reveals fans won't have to wait too long for the album's release.
He tells Billboard.com, "There are a couple of nuts and bolts that still need to be tightened, but it's pretty close (to completion)."
And Niemann is excited about introducing a new generation of country listeners to The Doobie Brothers.
He says, "What I'd like to accomplish is showing country music fans just how much influence the Doobie Brothers really have on country music today."
Ed Sheeran, Fall Out Boy and the Zac Brown Band are among the artists who have recorded tracks from Elton John's iconic 1973 album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road for a new box set release. The three acts, and Miguel, Hunter Hayes, The Band Perry, John Grant, Emeli Sande and Imelda May, have each picked a song from the album for the reissue package, which will be released in March (14).
Elton's seminal breakthrough album has been remastered and will be issued on CD, vinyl and limited-edition yellow vinyl, but it's a deluxe box set that is sure to become a must-have for fans - it will include a Live at Hammersmith 1973 CD, a DVD of Bryan Forbes' 1973 film Elton John and Bernie Taupin Say Goodbye to Norma Jean and Other Things, a 100-page illustrated hardback book packed with rare photos and memorabilia, and "suite" of nine, new cover versions of classic songs from Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
The songs include Sheeran's cover of Candle in the Wind, Fall Out Boy's rendition of Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting and Hayes' version of the title track.
Miranda Lambert and Tim Mcgraw will lead the way at the 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards after scoring seven nominations apiece. The House That Built Me beauty will attempt to defend her title as the Female Vocalist of the Year after taking home the accolade for the past four years; she will compete against Sheryl Crow, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and double Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves, while the star is also in the running for Entertainer of the Year, a category which also features her husband Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Swift and George Strait.
Lambert is also up for Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year for Mama's Broken Heart, which was co-written by Musgraves, and she has earned a double mention in the Vocal Event of the Year shortlist for her Keith Urban duet We Were Us and Boys 'Round Here with her band Pistol Annies.
Meanwhile, McGraw's Two Lanes of Freedom is nominated for Album of the Year, and Highway Don't Care will give Lambert a run for her money in the Single Record, Vocal Event and Video of the Year categories.
The Male Vocalist of the Year honour will be a fight between six-time nominee Urban, Bryan, Lee Brice, Shelton and Jason Aldean, while the acts up for Vocal Duo of the Year include Big & Rich, Florida Georgia Line and Thompson Square, and Vocal Group of the Year features Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum and The Band Perry.
Bob Dylan has earned his first ACMA nomination for Song of the Year - he wrote Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum's hit Wagon Wheel.
The nominees were announced online by stars including Katy Perry and actress Beth Behrs, and the winners will be revealed at a ceremony on 6 April (14). Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan will return to host the prizegiving from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The Foo Fighters are set to make waves ahead of America's Super Bowl next year (14) by performing on a cruise ship docked on New York City's Hudson River. The Best of You rockers will take to the stage aboard the unique venue on 1 February (14), just one day before football's biggest game of the season.
The Foo Fighters, along with special guests the Zac Brown Band, will perform on the liner, docked just across from the Bud Light Hotel, which will serve as the main hub for the weekend's star-studded concerts and parties.
Hip-hop group The Roots will take over the ship with Run D.M.C. and Busta Rhymes on 30 January (14), and Radioactive hitmakers Imagine Dragons will also perform.
The weekend will end with the Super Bowl on 2 February (14) at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where Bruno Mars will serve as the half-time performer.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has teamed up with the Zac Brown Band on a new record after bonding with the country stars at this year's (13) Grammy Awards. The former Nirvana rocker produced the four-song EP, titled The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1, and played drums on the tracks. The record will be released next month (Dec13).
