Clooney, who is scheduled to wed fiancee Amal Alamuddin later this month (Sep14), will follow in the footsteps of Woody Allen, who was this year's (14) honouree.
Past recipients have included Jodie Foster, Morgan Freeman, Steven Spielberg, and the late Robin Williams. The Gravity star will pick up his latest accolade at the Golden Globes on 11 January (15).
You hear the name Sophia Bush, and your first thought is probably: One Tree Hill. If that’s true, than you’re already on the right track. Sophia played Brooke Davis, everyone’s favorite character on OTH. But when OTH ended two years ago (still crying about it) that didn’t mean she was gone from TV forever. Right after OTH, she was on the show Partners (but it only lasted 1 season) before she reclaimed her badass throne on Chicago P.D. as Erin Lindsay.
Brooke was the first starring character that Sophia played on TV:
Originally, she was a little too much of a party girl. She was the head cheerleader, most popular girl in Tree Hill, and the Queen B. But anyone who watched OTH knows that the ditzy side of Brooke Davis didn’t stick around for long.
Brooke was not going to ever let bullying and self-consciousness get her down:
I mean, how could Brooke Davis even be self-conscious? She was Brooke Davis.
She was an advocate for positive body image:
She also hated double standards and would not stand for them:
Whenever she cried, we cried (not as beautifully):
That is power.
She always cared about her friends, even if they were fighting, and even if it almost killed her:
No really, it almost killed her. But Brooke Davis could kick some ass:
No psycho, not “Derek” or Xavier could break Brooke. Even after becoming the victim of vicious attack:
She could throw shade better than anyone else:
She was a business mogel when she was still a teenager:
She was an independent woman who didn’t need a man and would not take any shit:
But, when she decided she was ready to settle down, she landed one of the sexiest guys to ever grace the show:
Even then, she never let her hubby give her shit. Ever:
And she was the cutest, best mother ever. The end:
Now, Sophia plays detective Erin Lindsay on Chicago P.D. and she actually kicks ass:
Erin is not someone to be messed with:
She also makes the uniform look really, really good:
If you haven't already, bow down to the queen. We love you Sophia, may your TV reign never end.
You can catch her ruling the channels on Chicago P.D., which comes back Wednesday September 24th.

Lindsay Lohan may have some explaining to do after revealing she "rolled" the body bag containing Whitney Houston's remains while serving time at the Los Angeles County Morgue.
The actress was performing her community service there in February, 2012, following a probation violation when she claims Houston's body was brought in and assigned to her. Talking about her chequered past in an interview with the Daily Telegraph, the Mean Girls star says, "It's different for me than it would be for other people. Like, no one would really have to work at the morgue in L.A. and roll a body bag for Whitney Houston."
But staff at the L.A. Coroner's office insist that, although the timeline may be correct, Lohan would not have come in contact with Houston.
A spokesman tells TMZ.com that Houston's remains were never in a body bag and insists that no one in the probation programme came in contact with the tragic singer's body. The official adds Whitney was wrapped in plastic with a sheet cover the entire time she was at the morgue.
Robin Thicke has confessed under oath that he was so jealous of Pharrell Williams' talents he told interviewers he had a bigger part in the writing of 2013 hit Blurred Lines.
Interrogated for allegedly ripping off Marvin Gaye's song Got to Give it Up, the singer reveals he amped up his involvement in the song because he was upset that his biggest hit was really someone else's brainchild. Thicke and Williams are currently in the middle of a drawn-out legal battle with Gaye's children over claims they sampled various segments of the late soul legend's song without permission, and in sworn testimony, revealed for the first time in a Los Angeles federal court on Monday (15Sep14) and obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, singer Thicke admits he took too much credit for the track.
He told the Gayes' lawyer, "I was jealous and I wanted some of the credit... I tried to take credit for it later because (Williams) wrote the whole thing pretty much by himself and I was envious of that... I was present. Obviously, I sang it. I had to be there."
But when he was asked if he was around when the rhythm track was being created, he added, "To be honest... I was high on Vicodin and alcohol when I showed up at the studio. So my recollection is when we made the song, I thought I wanted... I wanted to be more involved than I actually was by the time, nine months later, it became a huge hit and I wanted credit. "I started kind of convincing myself that I was a little more part of it than I was... but the reality is that Pharrell had the beat and he wrote almost every single part of the song... (I was) lucky enough to be in the room."
Williams appears to agree with Thicke in his deposition, explaining, "This is what happens every day in our industry. You know, people are made to look like they have much more authorship in the situation than they actually do. So that's where the embellishment comes in." But the Happy hitmaker insists it's Thicke's voice that holds the song together - and that's why he gave the singer so much credit: "It's the white man singing soulfully and we, unfortunately, in this country don't get enough... we don't get to hear that as often, so we get excited by it when the mainstream gives that a shot."
Thicke goes on to admit that any comments he made in media interviews about the song's similarities to Gaye's track and his love for the soul man's music, which are now being used as proof of his sampling acts by the Gayes, were probably made in a drug haze, adding, "I had a drug and alcohol problem for the year... I didn't do a sober interview."
Thicke further confesses he was high on painkiller Norco when he sat down for a revealing TV chat with Oprah Winfrey, and reveals his wife Paula Patton left him when he told her the truth about his drug use. Thicke and Williams' depositions were recorded back in April (14).

Singer Lana Del Rey has cancelled her tour dates in Europe due to illness.
The Young and Beautiful hitmaker also backed out of a Tuesday (16Sep14) appearance on BBC Radio 1. A statement from the singer's record label representative reads, "For medical reasons independent of our will, the artist (Lana Del Ray) has been forced to cancel all promotional activities planned in Europe over the coming days."
Del Rey has opened up about her health problems in the past, but has not identified what she suffers from.
She said, "I'd been sick on tour for about two years with this medical anomaly that doctors couldn't figure out. That's a big part of my life: I just feel really sick a lot of the time and can't figure out why."

Rocker Nick Cave is still stunned pop princess Kylie Minogue agreed to duet with him in the 1990s because her record label bosses feared it would tarnish her image.
The rock wildman invited his fellow Australian to guest with him on his song Where the Wild Roses Grow in 1996, and the surprising collaboration became an unlikely hit, reaching the top 10 of charts across Europe and peaking at number two in their native country. Now Cave has opened up about the duet, revealing he feared the project was in jeopardy because Minogue's management team was not happy with her associating with drug-addled Cave and his band of hellraisers.
He tells Britain's Telegraph magazine, "It was a miracle that she agreed to do that song. I think her management wasn't happy about it - I mean we were just a bunch of junkies sitting in the studio, and she walked in full of life and love and goodwill. It was so different to have somebody like that around for a few months, and we had this hit, we became defined by Kylie and Kylie's presence."
Beyonce and Jay Z are releasing a short film trilogy to accompany their HBO concert special, which will debut in America later this month (Sep14).
The married superstars just wrapped their On the Run tour on Saturday (13Sep14) and a TV special showcasing their final gigs in Paris will air on 20 September (14). On Monday (15Sep14), the Drunk in Love hitmakers released the first part of the trilogy, entitled Bang Bang, which features the couple portraying outlaws, driving through the desert in a 1960s Pontiac GTO.
Director Dikayl Rimmasch tells Nowness.com, "We're not trying to do this literally, it's not that we're (outlaws) Bonnie and Clyde. We're on the run from everything. On the run from becoming a cliche. On the run from doing the same thing again."
The second part of the trilogy will be released on Tuesday (16Sep14).
British actor Eddie Redmayne is planning to marry his fiancee in a romantic winter wedding.
The Les Miserables star proposed to Hannah Bagshawe in May (14) and he has now opened up about the couple's wedding plans. Redmayne reveals they have set the date for December (14) and want a festive ceremony complete with Christmas carols and snow.
He tells Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "Hannah and I and Hannah's dad and my mum are all fans of the hymn In The Bleak Midwinter and wanted an excuse to sing that at a wedding... Hannah's like, 'Well you work at Pinewood Studios - can't you just fix up some fake snow?'"
