A popular performer on "All My Children" (ABC, 1970- ) for six years, English actor Aiden Turner brought a degree of continental charm and derring-do to his role of spy-turned-private eye Aiden Devane...
British actor Aiden Turner has struck a plea deal with U.S. prosecutors to bring his domestic violence case to an end. The former All My Children star was charged with two counts of domestic violence and two related charges in November (13) following an alleged bust-up with his girlfriend.
He pleaded not guilty to all the charges in December (13), but Turner has now agreed a deal with prosecutors.
Turner has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanour charge of disturbing the peace, editors at TMZ.com report.
The actor must complete a 52-week course of domestic violence counselling, after which the charge will be reduced to an infraction.
British actor Aiden Turner has pleaded not guilty to allegations of domestic violence following an arrest in November (13). The former All My Children star, 36, was taken into custody after reportedly throwing a remote control at his girlfriend's face during an argument at their Los Angeles home.
He was subsequently charged with four misdemeanours and he entered his not guilty plea during a court hearing just before the Christmas holidays.
He has been ordered to return to court on 22 January (14), according to the New York Daily News.
Turner has yet to comment on the legal trouble, but it appears he is deciding to focus on his career - in a Twitter.com post on Monday (30Dec13), the actor revealed he will be guest starring in an upcoming episode of TV drama Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. by sharing a link to a news article about his casting as international criminal Vanchat on the programme. His appearance is due to air in America on 7 January (14).
British actor Aiden Turner has been arrested following an alleged bust-up at his home. The former All My Children star, 36, was detained by cops on 25 November (13) after an argument with his partner at their Los Angeles home allegedly turned nasty.
He was released on $50,000 (£33,333) bail, and the Los Angeles City Attorney has since charged the star with four counts of misdemeanour domestic violence, according to TMZ.com.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is just around the corner, which means that our favorite mythical creatures will soon be back in our lives. But Legolas shouldn't get all of the glory, right?
Here's a list of the mythical beings from film and TV that make us weak at the knees:
New Line Cinema via Everett Collection
Name: LegolasMythological Creature: ElfFamous From: The Lord of the Rings and The HobbitPortrayed By: Orlando BloomSo, Legolas is seriously sexy. I have no problem saying that I'm attracted to an Elf. (Okay I'm a little weirded out that I just admitted to having a crush on an Elf.) His jawline could cut a rock, his bow skills are amazingly fantastic, and J.R.R. Tolkien's description of him doesn't do our lovestruck hearts any favors: "He was as tall as a young tree, lithe, immensely strong, able swiftly to draw a great war-bow and shoot down a Nazgûl, endowed with the tremendous vitality of Elvish bodies, so hard and resistant to hurt that he went only in light shoes over rock or through snow, the most tireless of all the Fellowship."
Name: KiliMythological Creature: DwarfFamous From: The HobbitPortrayed By: Aiden TurnerSo who else wants to get down with some Dwarves? Okay, so I know that sounds creepy, but it's totally common knowledge that Kili is kind of actually attractive. Dwarves get a bad rap for being pretty dopey, squat, hairy, and a bunch of other unattractive adjectives, but Kili beats the stereotype. He's definitely someone to look forward to in the next Hobbit.
Name: GaladrielMythological Creature: Royal Elf (I don't know why the distinction is necessary; it just is.)Famous From: The Lord of the RingsPortrayed By: Cate BlanchettBy definition Galadriel is ethereal: Extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world. With her golden hair, snow-white skin, and piercing blue eyes, she's what elf dreams are made of. Plus, she's seriously powerful, and there's nothing better than a powerful woman.
Twentieth Century Fox Film
Name: NeytiriMythological Creature: Na’vi princessFamous From: AvatarPortrayed By: Zoe SaldanaYes, she's blue. I totally get that. But, she's also beautiful, skilled in combat, and extremely sassy. And even if we don't actually get to see Zoe Saldana, we're always very aware that she's what makes this Na'vi princess so gorgeous.
Name: Thor Mythological Creature: A Norse GodFamous From: ThorPortrayed By: Chris HemsworthThor is literally a god. Like an actual god. According to Wikipedia, in Norse mythology, Thor is a "hammer-wielding god associated with thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength, the protection of mankind, and also hallowing, healing, and fertility." Fertility, ladies. Fertility. Add on the face, body, muscles, and voice of Chris Hemseworth and we've got a serious winner on our hands.
Name: HerculesMythological Creature: A Half-GodFamous From: The Legend of HerculesPortrayed By: Kellan LutzOkay, so he's only a half-god, but that's more god than most people can claim to be. He's amazingly strong, and he loves to go on adventures. And who wants to bet that his online dating profile says he loves "long walks on the beach"? (The Legend of Hercules is set to come out in 2014.)
Name: Eric NorthmanMythological Creature: VampireFamous From: True BloodPortrayed By: Alexander SkarsgardWe're not talking about Twilight vampires over here, we're talking about True Blood vamps. And obviously the steamiest vamp around — well, besides Pam — is Eric Northman. He hardly ever wears a shirt and deep down, under all of that pent up anger, is a heart that yearns for someone to love.
Name: Alcide HerveauxMythological Creature: WerewolfFamous From: True BloodPortrayed By: Joe ManganielloIf vamps aren't your thing, then you might want to check out their mortal (or, I guess, non-mortal) enemies: Werewolves. Also prone to not wearing a shirt is Bon Temps very own Alcide Herveaux. Just look at that scruff.
Name: Cormac McLaggenMythological Creature: WizardFamous From: Harry PotterPortrayed By: Freddie StromaCormac is totally a pompous jerk, but he's a very attractive pompous jerk. And if you can't get past his self-righteousness, then look no further than my second favorite wizard, Oliver Wood. He might have only been around in the wizarding world for a short while, but he definitely captured the hearts of Hogwarts-wannabees all over the world.
Name: Daenerys TargaryenMythological Creature: She descends from dragons, so it counts.Famous From: Game of ThronesPortrayed By: Emilia ClarkeSome might say that she's not technically a mythical being, but (spoiler) she was able to survive sitting in a fire for hours. She's the mother of dragons, and she's one of the fiercest ladies to grace the world of Westeros. She's a strong woman who knows what she wants, and she looks beautiful while on her journey to claim her rightful throne. Go, Team Daenerys!
Being Human brings you what you never knew you always wanted – The Real World with supernatural creatures. Who doesn’t want roommate drama escalating into murder, werewolf transformations, or ghostly lights flickering on and off? This series offers a smart take on the supernatural craze and delivers really great character development.
Annie Sawyer (Lenora Crichlow) is just a sweet-as-pie ingénue until her fiancé murders her. Now, she’s doomed to spend eternity in a sensible sweater-dress and jammies in her former dream house. Enter George Sands (Russell Tovey) and John Mitchell (Aiden Turner) two men who can see her because they are a werewolf and vampire, respectively. They decide to live together and try to be human...get it?
The series uses the supernatural as a metaphor for real life. John the vampire is addicted to sex and blood. George the werewolf second-guesses himself and his identity so he doesn’t live up to his potential. Annie puts everyone ahead of herself and needs to find her individuality. The series also expands to include George's girlfriend Nina (Sinead Keenan) who has to deal with changes of her own.
The show shifts the focus from the supernatural to the human concerns. It’s like Twilight or Buffy the Vampire Slayer with a Downton Abbey makeover. The adventure and fantasy take second place to the relationships.
The actors are also really amazing. Crichlow is instantly lovable and can be both fun and sweet but also edgy as a perky poltergeist. Tovey manages to be nerdy and anal retentive but dead sexy, no pun intended. He’s ripped and not afraid to run around naked, pre- and post-transformation. Turner channels his inner-rock-god as the guy you know you shouldn’t like but you do.
The four series of Being Human are available on Netflix as well as two seasons of the SyFy Channel’s American adaptation.
British actor Aiden Turner has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at their home in Los Angeles. The former All My Children star stands accused of hurling a remote control at his partner's face following an argument on Monday night (25Nov13), leaving her with a small cut and a black eye.
He was taken into custody on a felony domestic violence charge, but sources tell TMZ.com the case is likely to be downgraded to a misdemeanour because the injuries were minor.
The 36 year old separated from his wife Megan Marshall, mother of his baby daughter Ciella, in 2010 after four years of marriage.

A popular performer on "All My Children" (ABC, 1970- ) for six years, English actor Aiden Turner brought a degree of continental charm and derring-do to his role of spy-turned-private eye Aiden Devane. Born in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England on April 2, 1977, Turner was a young man of many interests; rugby was the initial passion, but cooking soon supplanted it as his sole focus. After attending culinary school from the ages of 16-18, he worked as a chef, but soon found himself drawn to mixing music as a DJ. He taught himself the basics of the job and soon made a living from it, which earned him enough funds to travel throughout Southeast Asia and Australia. While Down Under, he tried his hand at modeling while tending bar to make ends meet. A year later, he returned to England, where he continued to model while taking acting classes. Bit parts in commercials and television shows like "Eastenders" (BBC, 1985- ) soon followed. But a romance with American writer Megan Marshall brought him to the States, where he auditioned for and won the role of Aiden Devane in 2003.<p>Though a popular character thanks to his physical appeal and penchant for intrigue, Aiden Devane never quite found himself on the receiving end of a major storyline. He served as something of a utility player during his six years on the show; a nephew of Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), he was a Special Ops soldier in his native England and used his skills to conduct spying missions on other characters, while at one point becoming a private investigator. A lengthy and tumultuous romance with Greenlee Smythe (Rebecca Budig) provided some much needed suds for his role. Despite a nomination for a Daytime Emmy in 2003, the producers decided to write him out of the series, filming his final episode in December of 2009. Turner was quickly snapped up as a contestant on season 10 of "Dancing with the Stars" (ABC, 2005- ), hoofing his way through the Fox Trot and Paso Doble alongside celebrities like Pamela Anderson, Buzz Aldrin and sportscaster Erin Andrews.

"I find women most attractive when they have a good personality and they can joke around, and if they're stylish and know how to dress for different occasions. The thing I find sexy is confidence. If she's got a personality and she's wearing great clothes, she's stylish and really confident, that is a great turn-on." — quoted in Soap Opera Weekly, March 18, 2003
