Working Girl star Melanie Griffith has filed for divorce from Antonio Banderas. The couple has been married for 18 years. The actress, who has cited irreconcilable differences for the break-up, has hired top divorce lawyer Laura Wasser to represent her, according to TMZ.com. Griffith is asking for child support and sole physical and joint legal custody of the couple's teenage daughter Stella, who turns 18 in September (14). She is also requesting spousal support. This is Griffith's fourth divorce and Banderas' second. It is not clear when the couple separated, but Banderas and Griffith have been dogged by split rumours for years.
Kim Kardashian's sister Khloe has called time on her troubled marriage to sportsman Lamar Odom by filing for divorce. The reality TV star, who has been estranged from the basketball player for months, filed documents to end the union and restore her maiden name on Friday (13Dec13).
Khloe has cited irreconcilable differences for the split.
The proceedings are expected to be very straightforward as both parties signed a pre-nuptial agreement.
Kardashian will be represented by top divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.
The couple wed in 2009 following a whirlwind romance, but things haven't been happy at home for years, according to reports suggesting Lamar's substance-abuse issues, which led to a DUI arrest in August (13) and a stint in rehab, put a strain on the marriage.
There was a clear indication that Kardashian was planning to end the marriage at The Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment Breakfast in Beverly Hills on Wednesday (11Dec13), when she arrived without her wedding ring.
The filmmaker was caught kissing Stewart, the lead star of his Snow White and the Huntsman film, in July (12) and subsequently issued a public statement apologising to his wife and children for "the pain I have caused my family".
Ross was briefly pictured without her wedding ring, but by September (12) the band was back on her finger amid reports the couple was working through its marital problems for the sake of its two kids.
However, the reconciliation has fallen through and Ross launched legal action in Los Angeles County Superior Court to end her marriage this week (ends25Jan13).
She has hired celebrity favourite Laura Wasser to represent her and has asked for joint custody of their daughter Skyla, five, and son Tennyson, seven, as well as spousal support and attorney's fees.
Sanders has already filed his response to the divorce - he is also requesting joint custody of the kids and is asking to split the legal costs with Ross. He is not asking for spousal support, reports TMZ.com.
In contrast, Stewart's love life seems to be back on track - her Twilight co-star and boyfriend Robert Pattinson appears to have forgiven her for her momentary "indiscretion" with Sanders and they reunited in October (12).
The Hollywood couple announced its separation in November, 2011 after six years as husband and wife, and now the Two and a Half Men star has kickstarted the divorce process.
Kutcher, who has hired celebrity attorney Laura Wasser to represent his case, filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday (21Dec12), citing irreconcilable differences for the break-up.
He is not seeking spousal support and has not asked a judge to deny Moore financial aid should she request it, according to People.com.
The couple, which wed in 2005, does not have any children.
Kutcher, 34, has since moved on to romance his former That '70s Show co-star Mila Kunis, while 50-year-old Moore was most recently linked to director Julian Schnabel's art collector son Vito.
The reality TV star wed Humphries in a lavish televised ceremony last August (11), but their relationship crumbled and Kardashian moved to end her marriage on Halloween (31Oct11).
The New Jersey Nets sportsman subsequently filed for an annulment in November (11), challenging the former couple's pre-nuptial agreement and accusing Kardashian of fraud, insisting their much-hyped nuptials were all part of a publicity stunt to boost her earnings.
The TV beauty's attorney, Laura Wasser, appeared in court on Friday (04May12) and pleaded with Superior Court Judge Stephen Moloney to get the divorce ball rolling as negotiations between the two parties had stalled in recent months.
Wasser said, "I feel that (Humphries') personal feelings and maybe some media drive is keeping this case alive. Certainly, they've been separated longer than they've been married."
However, Humphries' lawyer, Marshall Waller, claimed his team needed more time to build their case and gather witness depositions, which the judge ruled could now get underway, according to TMZ.com.
Attorneys for both parties are due back in court on 15 August (12), just five days before what would have been the couple's one-year anniversary.
Klum has cited irreconcilable differences for the breakdown of the relationship in court papers filed in Los Angeles on Friday (06Apr12) by top divorce lawyer Laura Wasser and obtained by TMZ.com.
A post-nuptial agreement the couple signed suggests the divorce will be straightforward, as there is no community property to be divided.
Klum has requested joint legal custody of the couple's four kids and primary physical custody. And she has also asked that her maiden name of Klum be restored privately.
Reports suggest the beauty has already moved on from Seal after she was photographed on the set of her hit European TV show Germany's Next Topmodel with rumoured new boyfriend Thomas Hayo, the creative director of the programme.
In the candid shots obtained by WENN, the cute couple appears to be more than just friends. In one snap, Hayo feeds Klum from a snack table.

A lot can happen in a year, especially in the entertainment business. New movies come out, more albums are released, and an endless array of celebrity gossip never fails to peak the public's interest. We admit, there's nothing we enjoy more than reading about the latest Hollywood hookups and breakups. It's fun, it's exciting, and it's ALWAYS changing, especially this year, which seemed to hold some of the biggest celebrity breakups of all time. So being the celeb junkies we are, we decided to honor these epic romances by highlighting the major turning points in their relationships over the year and showing what led to the gradual decline of some of our favorite Hollywood pairs.
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries
Kim Kardashian had an extraordinarily big year in terms of her businesses, but there’s no question she invested the most amount of time and effort into her love life. Unfortunately, the results were not what exactly what she wanted. It all started in December of 2010, when she began quietly dating Kris Humphries, a player for the New Jersey Nets. She didn’t even admit to being in a relationship until an episode of the Rachael Ray show, which aired on February 28th, 2011.
Just three months later, Kim and Kris were engaged, and the couple was proudly featured on the cover of People Magazine on May 25th, 2011 (it was reported they earned $2.5 million for those engagement photos). On August 20th, they got married in an extraordinarily lavish ceremony on an estate in Montecito, California, which was rumored to cost $10 million (however, it is unknown if the Kardashians actually paid that sum – various experts believe it seems more likely the flowers, dress, food, and venue were all donated), and Kim and Kris reportedly earned $17 million by allowing the event to be filmed and aired in two E! television specials (Part 1 and Part 2).
Over the next two months, the couple appeared divided and less interested in each other: Kris was spotted without his wedding ring while moving boxes out of the hotel in New York he shared with Kim, and Kim was seen coming out of the office of a well-known NYC divorce attorney. Then on October 31st, Kim filed for divorce and issued a statement, which said "After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."
In early December, Kris filed papers for not only legal separation from his wife, but also to have the marriage annulled (which means it would be completely removed from his record). The divorce probably won’t go through until next year but considering how public their courtship was, we can only assume the process of them dissolving their marriage won’t be very secretive.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver:
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver met in 1977, and were married by April of 1986. By 2011, they were considered to be one of Hollywood’s most powerful couples. But their strong exteriors shattered when on May 9th, Schwarzenegger and Shriver announced they were separating after an incredible 25 years of marriage. Eight days later on May 17th, Schwarzenegger released a statement indicating he had fathered a child with the family’s housekeeper, Mildred Patricia Baena, ten years ago.
Shortly thereafter (on May 19th), the public learned how Shriver became aware of her husband’s infidelity, and RadarOnline reported it was when Shriver confronted Baena and blatantly asked if Schwarzenegger was her son’s father. Baena apparently broke down and then confessed to Shriver she had relations with the former Governor of California, which led to Shriver asking her husband if Baena’s story was true. And after he confirmed it was, Shriver hired famed divorce attorney, Laura Wasser, and filed for divorce on July 1st, 2011. Shriver also requested that Schwarzenegger pay for her legal fees in addition to his own.
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher
Relationships in Hollywood are always tough, but add a 15 year age difference and constant tabloid attention into the mix, and it's never going to end well. Yes, 2011 was not so kind to Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher's six year marriage. In fact, it led to its inevitable demise. As the year progressed, the couple -- who were once the epitome and gushy love tweets -- were routinely photographed looking unhappy and arguing. Even their Twitter obsessions started dying down and they were spending more and more time apart. At first, it appeared to be just a phase, something which would eventually blow over in time...or so we thought.
Their marital turmoil really reached its stride at the close of summer, after news leaked of Ashton's alleged affair with 22-year-old Sara Leal. From that point on, divorce rumors spread like wildfire throughout the web, leaving a path of cryptic tweets, moving vans, and philosophical videos in its wake. Some decided to chalk the whole thing up as another media concocted story, but then on November 17th, Demi announced her plans to end her marriage to Ashton, saying, "As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life." And just like that, one of Hollywood's biggest love stories came to a close.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony
Hands down, one of the biggest summer breakups was between Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, who announced they were parting ways after seven years of marriage. The couple released a statement in mid-July, saying, “We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
Unlike Demi and Ashton's trouble-filled marriage, this split seemed to come out of absolutely nowhere. Seriously, this one caught all of us way off guard. I mean, their relationship went through its share of ups and downs, but the pair seemed relatively stable in their marriage, which made many fans wonder -- what the hell happened? Earlier in the year, the two had worked closely together on the set of American Idol and even performed a duet together as a couple. Additionally, they were busy raising their 3-year-old twins, Max and Emme and working on several projects together, including a reality talent competition, "¡Q'Viva! The Chosen."
From an outsider's point of view, everything was perfect, which made the news that much more shocking. Both parties have remained somewhat vague as to what exactly went wrong in their marriage, but in an interview with Nightline, Anthony denied infidelity as the causing factor and assured everyone that "it was a decision that we made jointly." I guess sometimes a marriage just doesn't work out. Since the split, Lopez has been romantically linked to the likes of Bradley Cooper and 24-year-old backup dancer, Casper Smart.
George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis
George Clooney and Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis began dating in September of 2009. For two years they enjoyed each other's company and relished their oh-so-glamorous lifestyle. And being that he's George Clooney: America's No. 1 Bachelor, the actor made it clear that marriage and children weren't in the cards -- and for a while Elisabetta agreed...until she suddenly didn't. In June, Elisabetta told the Italian magazine, Chi, that she definitely planned on getting married some day, saying, “I am a firm believer in marriage, in the future I will be married, but for the time being I am happy as I am.” That very same month, the news broke that Clooney and Canalis had decided to end their relationship. Coincidence? I think not.
To be honest, she really should've known better. Even the mere mention of marriage sends good ole George running for the hills, so I'm not sure what she was thinking in telling a magazine that she hopes to hear wedding bells at some point in the future. And so another relationship tragically came to a close. Since then, Elisabetta has been romantically linked to former True Blood star, Mehcad Brooks, while George found a new (non-marital) companion in former professional wrestler Stacy Keibler, whom he started dating in August.
The socialite filed for divorce on Monday (31Oct11), just two days after she attended a Halloween party in New York without her husband Kris Humphries, who she wed in August (11).
A statement from Kardashian reads, "After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."
Her lavish nuptials, costing an estimated $10 million (£6.25 million), were captured on camera for an E! TV special, which debuted in America in October (11).
Kardashian is citing "irreconcilable differences" for the split, and she has hired top divorce lawyer Laura Wasser to represent her in court, according to TMZ.com.
According to the divorce documents, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday morning (31Oct11), the couple's prenuptial agreement will come into effect. Additionally, Kardashian has listed "miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects" as well as "earrings and accumulations" amassed by Kim before, during and after her marriage be confirmed as separate property, according to EOnline.com.
The marriage is Kardashian's second - she wed producer Damon Thomas in 2000. The couple divorced in 2004.
After 72 days of marriage, TMZ is reporting Kim Kardashian is expected to file for divorce from Kris Humphries this morning. Sources indicate even though the marriage was so short-lived, she will not seek an annulment and cited the reason for the filing as "irreconcilable differences." The exact date of separation is reportedly listed as today, October 31st.
Kim has hired famed divorce attorney, Laura Wasser (who has a client list that consists of Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, and Angelina Jolie), to represent her in the formal proceedings. Before the wedding, both Kim and Kris signed a prenuptial agreement, so their divorce shouldn't take that long to be finalized.
We've all long suspected this marriage wouldn't last because in recent weeks, Kim and Kris have sent out signals indicating their legal binding wasn't in the greatest condition. Just last week, Kim told People Magazine that newlywed life "wasn't ideal" because she and Kris had no privacy (which is something she curiously never seemed to need before). Before that came the news that Kris wasn't even Kim's first choice for a husband, and that before she and Kris started dating she actually approached basketball player for the New York Knicks, Danilo Gallinari, and asked if he would be interested in being in a relationship with her (he (probably wisely) declined). And before that we learned Kim's agent dropped Kris as a client, AND BEFORE THAT he was spotted out and about without his wedding ring on AND BEFORE THAT that Kim was seen visiting a divorce attorney's office in New York.
Ryan Seacrest (who produces all the Kardashian shows on E!) confirmed the news on Twitter and promised that he was getting a statement from Kim in "just a few mins," which we will have as soon as it becomes available.
Regarding the reason of the split, sources close to Kardashian and Humphries suggest the two had issues figuring out where they would live once they were officially married. Kris was said to be dead set on moving back to Minnesota (where he's from) and thought Kim would eventually agree to reside in the Midwest -- but she never did. Not surprisingly, it seems Kim wants to stay in Los Angeles because it would be better for her career...and as for why an agreement wasn't reached before their wedding that cost $10 million, friends say they just decided to work it out after they were married. They add that the break-up isn't going to be very chaotic because both Kim and Kris just realized their relationship just isn't "a long-term fit."
Check out the couple's last interview together (which aired on October 4th on NBC), where Kim talks about Kris's worst habits.

The couple split in May (11) days before the action man-turned-politician stunned the world by confessing he had fathered a lovechild with a maid at the family home over a decade ago.
Shriver filed divorce papers on Friday (01Jul11), citing "irreconcilable differences".
She is asking for spousal support and joint custody of the couple's minor children, Patrick, 17, and Christopher 13. Shriver has also requested that her cheating ex-husband pay the attorneys fees for both parties, according to TMZ.com.
She is represented by top divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.
